I honestly don't remember the cocktails we had here. I do recall that they were good. Not sure if…read morethose alone were worth the money because with the conversion they easily reached $20 USD each. But they were tasty. I'm writing this review to talk about the small plate of treats they offered us while we sat at the bar: * Tomato w/ ricotta cheese: As expected, good quality ricotta. The tomato was nice and light. Overall, what you see is what you taste. * Zucchini w/ dab of tomato sauce on top: Very light and simple. Not much flavor from the sauce but I think the zucchini is meant to lead here. * Shrimp w/ avocado cream: Absolutely my favorite. Soft and sweet! * Bufula mozzarella: PERFECT temperature. Mozzarella shell is not restrictive at all.

Served with a few munchies (no Milanese "aperitivo", you mind: this is a pre or post dinner place, or you can order from the full restaurant menu) and a glass of iced water (not American size and no refill was offered though). The prices are high even for Milan standards but 15 euros for a well crafted cocktail in a stylish location is well spent for me. Small and cozy, gentle music, not crowded. Will be back, oh yeah.

#64-2016: After my…read morehappy hour (with the excuse of trading star wars figurines collected with shopping at a famous Italian supermarket chain) with some fellow yelps, here I am writing an update to this truly remarkable place! FIRST OFF... just follow these simple directions. As soon as you see the arena look for the next available light and turn onto Via Canonica, right away you shall find a small square on your right and there you will find this jewel. Yes... The decor is rather cliché (a crossover between tacky Maya and ethnic Africa). BEWARE for groups bigger than... say 4, you will be placed on these RATHER uncomfortable high chairs around a weird bongo-shaped high table that is smaller than the smaller tables and risks being kicked over too easily... But ENOUGH of the negative aspects... Lemme sing the praises of this place... We had an aperitivo (fixed price 11€ regardless if the beverage chosen) and had access to the quite varied and undoubtedly good buffet. Note the plates are disposable and you are engouraged NOT to use them twice. The same shouldn't be for forks but I have seen many toss those as well. What was available? Pizza chunks, pasta (I counted at least 5 different options), risotto (lovely), chicken, potatoes and bacon bites, garbanzo beans, couscous, filled zucchinis, fresh sliced fruits, lasagne (both original as well as veggie)... and a whole bunch of other things that were deliciously kept warm. The more the evening progressed the more new items were brought). And... to top it all off.. a surprisingly good tiramisù... There is no limit on how many times you can serve yourself... so splurge away my friends... Now.. on to my beloved (and truly missed) cocktails... I am a sucker for them cocktails presented in either a carved melon, pineapple or coconut shell. What I ordered should have come in a melon but they had finished it so they offered a pineapple instead. .. YUMMIE... They offer non-alcohol options, simple cocktails, dry options, elaborated drinks, I would imagine this place could satisfy all types of taste... from girly girl to macho men (NO beer here though). Cocktails are well balanced (the guys knows how to mix) and NOT skimpy on the alcohol.. And, another truly appreciated touch was the waiter coming to the table with tiny shot glasses filled with fruit smoothies, what a nice touch... Let's just say... I'll BE BACK SOON!!

The best was the spinach ravioli and fracado drink. This was such a good deal!! Very worth it and we totally could have just had dinner here with small plates. By the time we passed by at 21:00, it was popping outside. We did see some flies around the kitchen, by the desserts. Which is why it's not 5 stars.

Bhangrabar has a HUGE outdoor seating area, and for aperitivo hours, they offer a huge buffet of both greasy Italian and North Indian food. It's definitely more North Indian/Western influence since the food is on the oily/rich side. They did have plenty of steamed veggies and cheeses so I helped myself to that. Aperitivo is 14 euros and includes one drink (non alcoholic or alcoholic) and access to the buffet, no limits on how many times you can go back for seconds lol. They even offer a "maxi" size drink, which is more like a medium in the USA LOL! The staff is okay, a bit pushy when it comes to paying right away, but I'd rather pay first and then eat vs. waiting for hours on end to pay when I want to leave! For my drink, I got the non alcoholic Madras. It had cucumber, lime, and ginger, and had a sharp flavor at the beginning which faded as I finished the drink. Overall, if you're out with friends in the area, it can be an easy place to tuck into. But if you don't fill yourself with some veggies to balance out the greasy stuff, you might wake up with more than a hangover in the morning!
