Imagine flavorful cassoulet, sumptuously baked chicken breast, and perfectly roasted vegetables--all for under 30 euros.

We stumbled upon Chez Nine after walking and enjoying the ambience of old town Aix, and we were grateful to be seated without a reservation. We ordered an aperitif (which we unfortunately did not receive, hence the 4 star rating) and received a complimentary sardine spread and small crackers. Tasty. We ordered a nice bottle of blended red that was recommended by the owner. My fiancé ordered the chèvre ravioli which was heaven on a plate. A rich, creamy, and cheesy blending of flavors and topped with fantastic prosciutto. If you want rich and decadent, look no further. I ordered a tagliatelle with chicken and a wonderful almond and cream sauce. There were small raisins in it that added a pop of sweetness in the richness of the cream sauce. Delightful. The dishes were fairly large, so we didn't end up ordering dessert. Highly recommended.

Total was 17.5 euro. Honestly, I wish I had found this spot earlier! I ate at several "nice" spots around town during the week.
