I found Pierre on Google and hired him based on his yelp reviews for our engagement and wedding photos. We met with Pierre last week and he did not disappoint! We wanted an open land/outdoorsy engagement photo shoot. He suggested to meet at Cuyamaca Park and found a great spot to shoot. He walked us all over to get the photos we requested. He definitely has an eye for photography and we are very happy with the results. I can't wait to see the magic he shoots on our wedding day! read more

We absolutely love the photos Pierre-o took of our family! Aside from his obvious talent, he is super friendly and very understanding of how things can be with little ones. He allowed us to take our time, chatting all the while, making us feel very comfortable. This certainly won't be the last time we come to him for family photos. read more

Pierre is the best!! We are so happy he was able to capture our wedding. We are obsessed with the photos, he did an amazing job at capturing all the love that day. He was really quick with our first look and photos with our bridal party in family. But he really shines with his candid shots, the detail is amazing. I don't even know how he got some of the shots because he's very good at "being invisible" I would 100% recommend Pierre to anyone! He was so easy to work with and even helped us stay within our budget. He offers a flat rate instead of hourly, which is so rare to find. He also through in the rehearsal dinner for free! You will be so happy you went with Pierre! read more

My fiancé and I took engagement photos at the beach with Pierre last Tuesday afternoon. First of all, we like how flexible he is with his time. He also suggested a great beach that wasn't too crowded and he was spot on with the timing!! What a funny guy and he made us feel comfortable and gave suggestions because we were a little nervous. I felt like the photos he took and presented to us were very unique. We are looking forward to taking our blended family pics with him next!! We recommend him to all!! read more

Pierre is amazing! We hired him to shoot our double ceremony (Indian and Western) and reception. His pricing is very affordable and he does unlimited hours on the day of your wedding. When he says unlimited, he isn't kidding, we tested his limits on this. He put in a 12 hour day for us shooting two ceremonies and our reception. I was blown away by his flexibility as well as his ability to fade into the background. He is so talented, you barely notice he's there and when you do notice it's because you're having a great conversation with him. My family adored him and he got along so well with everyone. We were nervous because we never get professional pictures taken and he made the posed pictures so easy and not at all awkward. He got our photos back to us very quickly and the end results were awesome, we had no idea we could look that good! read more

This Yelp is long overdue.... While searching for a wedding photographer we found Pierre-olivier Photography. I was amazed at the artful and beautiful elements captured from Pierre. I found Pierre-olivier after yelping local photographers and was amazed after visiting his website and seeing his wedding and lifestyle photos. First of all, to have the chance to meet and get to know Pierre is in its self, nothing short of amazing! Pierre is professional, genuine, laid-back, and very creative! After my now husband and I met him for coffee we knew he was perfect for our engagement and wedding photos. Pierre was always easy to get in contact with and responded right away. He was flexible on dates and times for our engagement photos; I had to reschedule once. When Pierre did our engagement photos he took us and our old bike cursing through Encinitas in his VW bus, we had so much fun! Pierre was always creative, motivated and made us comfortable while taking our picture. He spent the time to capture the ideas I had for photos and guided us through the rest. Pierre also did our wedding photos. Our ceremony was early in the morning and he stayed throughout our reception into the late afternoon. Pierre was kind enough to drive us to our wedding reception in his super cool pickup and he also took pictures of us in it. Pierre was always on time, stayed as long as we needed, and he made sure we had photographed everything that we wanted to capture. I am very grateful Pierre did our photos. He captured every special moment and I received my photos within 24 hours after each session. Thank you Pierre! read more

Pierre-O, you are a miracle worker. I have too much to say so this is my best consolidation of our wonderful experience with you! FIRST, an FYI - BEST EXPERIENCE WE'VE HAD, EVER. When I saw his photos it made me wish he had photographed our wedding and I'm bummed I didn't know of him then. Pierre is our go-to for all future photography needs, no question. He came early and we spent the first 30-40 minutes talking, getting to know each other, scoping out the settings. When we got into photos he helped to make it feel natural and honestly his ambience and friendly/comfortable attitude kept me relaxed and feeling natural. Pierre has a beautiful eye for photography and editing. When I saw his photos I was star struck as I didn't realize at the time of the shoot what beautiful angles and extra photos he was taking. Not to mention his editing skills! Last thing I'll say because I feel it's important - he didn't haggle us about getting paid and him photographing us really felt like he was an old friend. My experience these days has been getting harassed for payment even before the job is done and never friendly so this stood out to me so much. To sum it up, it's very obvious that Pierre-O is deeply passionate about his work and is so warm/personable. We couldn't have asked for more read more

Pierre is absolutely the best! He did both our engagement and wedding photos. From the start, he was so friendly and easy going to work with. He's extremely creative and talented. He is always finding beautiful ways to create his shots. Through his pictures, he's able to capture those special moments that you will be able to look back on for a lifetime. The quality of his pictures are just great. We have received so many compliments from everyone on his work with us! We adore Pierre and have found a friends for life with him. Pierre holds a special place in our hearts. I came across his work online when I was looking for a photographer to take maternity photos and newborn photos for our first child. I was a new soon-to-be mother, uncomfortable with how my body looked pregnant and terrified of the camera but that certainly didn't translate in our pictures. His style is unlike any other photographer in that he starts each session off as though you were meeting for coffee and will carry on a conversation with you during the photo sessions which translates into natural body placement, authentic smiles and candid belly laughs. If his ability to make you relax in front of the camera weren't enough then his product itself would certainly earn my stellar review. One of the reasons I reached out to Pierre is body of work. All of his work is unique and stunning in its own right. I've used him for every family photo and major milestone in our lives. My sister loved our photos so much that she even hired him for her wedding and a party. His work is unlike any other. Highly recommend. read more

Pierre is awesome! He's extremely responsive to inquiries about his pricing and availability and very flexible and super friendly! He was very accommodating and willing to meet us where we wanted to take our family photos. We talked through the time to meet up in order to capture the best late afternoon sunlight and he had great suggestions for how we could shoot with our dog for some of the photos too. He's easy to talk to and very approachable and was open to both listening to my ideas and providing his expert suggestions. Just as another person wrote in their review, after just a few minutes of talking with Pierre and getting to know one another, My family and I felt comfortable, as if we had been friends for a long time which is so important in capturing great pictures. His prices are very competitive and he turned our photos around back to us within a day and we love them! Talk about exceeding expectations! Thank you Pierre! We can't wait to shoot with you again in the future . read more

What can we say?! Pierre is like family. He came recommended from a good friend and shot our maternity photos. Our daughter is now almost 3 and there is no one else we trust to capture our family moments. He shoots twice a year for us and with each session, he somehow has managed to showcase how we've evolved as a family. First with my big prego belly, then as awkward and tired first-time parents, and more recently a family of 3 that has fun together. He's FAST with his turnaround and his photography style makes me feel like a supermodel when I'm really just an exhausted mom! THANK YOU PIERRE! We love you! read more

Pierre recently shot my wedding and we could not be happier. His photos are second to none and EXACTLY what we wanted. He was unbelievably adaptable and willing to work with us in every way. He even threw in our engagement photo shoot as part of the package which was down in San Diego (we live in And the wedding was in OC). We had a 110 person wedding and I can truly say that every person at the wedding was captured in one way or another, the pictures came out truly unbelievable... my wife was especially happy with all of them which of course made me that much happier. We will continue to use Pierre for all our photography needs (holidays, baby announcements, etc) in the future. Thank you so much Pierre-Olivier Photography !!!! read more

My husband and I loved having Pierre at our wedding!!! We chose to work with Pierre because he photographed our friends' wedding a few years ago, their photos turned out gorgeous and they highly recommended him. From start to finish he made everything easy and fun, his rate was totally reasonable (especially for the quality of his work!), and he made everyone feel comfortable and got great shots. We received our photos shortly after our wedding and they're stunning! He also got some amazing shots of our family and friends at our welcome party the night before our wedding, and we're so glad that he documented that for us. My husband and I were having some anxiety about having our photos taken as neither of us is comfortable in front of cameras, but Pierre made us feel totally at ease and captured us just being natural which is exactly what we wanted. So if you are like us and generally just don't like many photos of yourselves, Pierre will change that for you! We're so happy. The other big thing for us was time management - our bridal party was huge, so there was lots to photograph and we didn't want them to have to take photos with us all through cocktail hour. Pierre recommended getting those shots prior to our ceremony, which we did. He was so quick and efficient - he got everything we needed before the ceremony and then just hung out with my husband and me during cocktail hour and got some shots of us. Nobody felt rushed, but we were amazed at how quickly he worked with such a big group of people. We've already recommended him to friends who are getting married next year and will continue to recommend him! read more

What an incredible experience we had! We were put at ease right Away with pierre's calm and peaceful demeanor. I generally dread family photos, and what it takes to coordinate my husband, my two young daughters and myself for photos. But this was so easy and the results were AMAZING! I'm so self critical and I really loved the shots so much, I'm having a hard time choosing which to use for Christmas cards. Don't hesitate to book Pierre for whatever your photo needs may be :) read more

Pierre has more been more than our wedding photographer turned family photographer. He is someone that is just amazing to be around. We do not get married until July 2014 but we have already had two stellar experiences with Pierre. He shot our traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony (dam hoi) and we just had our photo engagement shoot a few days ago. Pierre's photos really capture the emotions and excitement of the day but there's also an edge of cool and hip that I attribute to his cool guy demeanor (I mean that in the best way possible). You can't help but want to be Pierre's friend immediately after meeting him and it's so easy to be natural around him. At our tea ceremony, he blended in with the crowd and I never noticed him taking pictures - serious ninja skills. I don't know where he found time to take so many great pictures but we were ecstatic when we got the photos. On top of that, my family was really impressed (our picky Asian parents give Pierre the thumbs up, that in itself is a feat!) I can be a bit of a stress ball and my fiancé and I are pretty reserved: not necessarily a recipe for fun photos. Pierre jumped on furniture, got us to stand in the middle of a street as cars zoomed by for pics, had us rolling around in dust and he's had the cops called on him a few times. He definitely brings the whimsy and talent which is a great reminder to not take things so seriously - especially wedding planning. Wedding planning can be very stressful but having great vendors really make a difference. Pierre is up there as one of our favorite vendors, definitely our favorite photographer and overall just a cool dude. Looking forward to hanging out with him on our wedding day. Pierre is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I was researching for a photographer for our outdoor desert wedding near Joshua Tree and had come across some of Pierre's beautiful photos from a Palm Springs wedding. They had just the look and feel I wanted. I knew the lighting could be challenging with the bright desert sun, but Pierre is a pro and captures the light just perfectly. He has such a great eye and is a true artist. We had called several other photographers for quotes. Not only was Pierre the only one in our price range, but he was the most personable and friendly, and offered so much more than the others. He doesn't nickel-and-dime you with a bunch of package options. He gives you a very reasonable, all-inclusive flat rate and is yours for the entire day/night. We invited him to our house to meet, and we felt immediately at ease around him. You truly get the sense that his priority is making sure he captures your day perfectly and that you don't have to worry about a thing. For our engagement shoot, I happened to spill something on my dress just before Pierre arrived. I was stressed to say the least. While I was frantically trying to wash and dry the dress, Pierre and my fiance enjoyed a beer and chatted like old friends until I was ready. Pierre is so calming to be around that after I finally got myself together and chatted with him for a minute, I was no longer worried about wasting all that prime shooting time before sunset. Pierre did a great job at giving us instructions for the shoot, but also just letting us be ourselves. He, or should I say his absolutely adorable 2 year daughter, personally delivered the prints and cd of images to our home just 5 days later. The shoot had seemed so quick, yet there were so many pictures and we loved them all! It was so nice not to have to pick favorites or think about printing costs. We had mentioned to Pierre that we were having a very large rehearsal dinner with all of our extended family, and that we would hopefully get a lot of the family photos out of the way that night. He very kindly offered to arrive to the desert a day early to shoot the rehearsal dinner too, and for such a nominal fee. (Several of the photos he took are actually being used for Christmas cards by other family members.) He also joined us at a bar later that night where we met up with friends for a welcome drink and took a few more photos there too. As for the actually wedding day, Pierre totally exceeded our expectations!! He arrived early and took a bunch of photos of the drive out to the venue and the venue itself. I had given Pierre and all of the wedding party and immediate family a timeline for photos before the ceremony. I have no idea if it went on time or according to plan because Pierre has this way of making you feel like everything is going perfectly and like you always have tons of time still. And somehow you do! He's so quick and everything seems to flow so naturally. We had so many compliments from friends and family about how much they enjoyed our photographer - and they hadn't even seen the photos yet! My dad actually thought he was an old friend of ours and said he talked with him a bunch assuming he knew us really well. But honestly, we considered Pierre a friend after the first time we met him, so it wasn't so far from the truth. He blended right into the party and was having fun, and I think that put our friends and family at ease too when he was snapping their photos. He's so stealth we barely noticed him taking shots. We were very pleasantly surprised when Pierre was ready to drop off the already edited prints and digital files in less than a month from the wedding. Other photographers had told us we would have to wait 6 months to a year. Again, we were blown away by the sheer number of photos and that they were all so good!!! We literally have hundreds of favorites! It was so special to be able to send some prints along with our thank you cards, and to get them out so soon after the wedding. If I could give him more stars, I would. Other photographer friends have commented on the photos I posted on Facebook and think his work is amazing. (Oh, and the photos don't have an obnoxious copyright on them either. I really appreciated having clean images.) Pierre is an absolutely fantastic photographer and wonderful person too. I can't recommend him enough read more

I found Pierre after a long search for wedding photographers by stumbling across his Blog, and something about his images made me stop and want to stay on his blog. They were beautiful, original, and artfully crafted. I immediately emailed him and he responded quickly offering to meet us for coffee that week. We chatted for a couple hours at the coffee shop, and quickly decided that he was the kind of person we wanted to be around, to spend the day with, and that would make us feel at ease. We still hadn't set a wedding date, but were interested in having engagement photos taken and he was more than willing to set up a session. My fiancé and I love the outdoors, but somehow, Balboa Park, the beach, etc didn't really get us excited. We also didn't want corny photos taken at a restaurant or posed next to a building--- we wanted to have fun doing something new and exciting, and have it documented. We decided that the sand dunes were something different (we had past them driving out East, but never stopped to play in them). We asked him if he would be willing to go on an adventure with us to the middle of nowhere and he was more than up for it. We had a great time driving out, and playing in the dunes. Pierre was awesome-- we felt like we were with an old friend the whole day, he trekked through terrible sand with us on a 90 degree day, made us feel at ease and let us just do our thing, all while taking amazing pictures in less than ideal lighting conditions (mid day bright sun). We were so happy with our photos and have received so many compliments. Plus, within the week, he offered to drop off the digital files (something that most photographers take weeks, if not months to do). We can't wait to have more occasions to document with Pierre- he is talented photographer, but also a great person! read more

Pierre is badass! He did such a wonderful job on both our engagement pictures and our wedding pictures! He really captured the "feel" of the day and of us as a couple. He got there super early and was there all night with us. He was like a ninja; I didn't even notice he was there, but the pictures prove he was. I couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of his work. I would highly recommend him! I constantly refer Pierre to anyone looking for a photographer because he's simply the best. He always delivers such beautiful work and is truly a pleasure to be around. He was extremely flexible with his availability and timing - and the pricing was very competitive. We are so lucky we found Pierre to photograph our wedding! The pictures captured our day perfectly and there are so many good ones to choose from. Pierre was recommended by a friend and a quick glance at his portfolio confirmed his talent. Chatting with him via facetime made me feel super at ease about the decision. Pierre is so friendly and gave us a very reasonable price for unlimited hours on the wedding day and also our engagement shoot. Our engagement session was super fun and the pictures came out gorgeous. We turned them into our wedding guestbook and got so many compliments on it from our guests. He even agreed come photograph our rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding! Pierre is so personable and laid-back, most people thought he was an old friend of ours at our wedding. And during the day he helped keep me relaxed and feeling like we had plenty of time for photos before the ceremony. He snuck us out during dinner for the most amazing sunset photos and also managed to take incredible candid shots all night long without ever being noticed or getting in the way. We were fortunate enough to meet Pierre through our good friends who he is also good friends with. He did their engagements and I was so impressed I couldn't wait to see Pierre in action at their wedding and meet him in person. After our friends wedding, we met Pierre on our own fully knowing we were going to book him. Seriously, how can you not? Have you seen his work?! A few months after our meeting we shot our engagement pictures in Encinitas. We wanted casual, comfortable photos, not the forced photos you see from friends that have the "what were they thinking?" vibe to them. That's not our style. For two people who take no more than the occasional selfie pictures, we had a blast with Pierre. After the session was over, we all went out for dinner and drinks with our mutual friends. I can't tell you enough how excited we were when we got our pictures back. They were AMAZING and I'm not being biased. They're that good. Fast forward six months later and we finally approached our wedding, the 19th of last month. Pierre met the girls at the hotel while we were getting ready at 9:30am and was with us until midnight for our after party. Not only is he a super rad guy, he's a ninja behind the camera. You don't even know he's there and you look back at your pictures and you can't believe he got the shot and went unnoticed. When we got our wedding photos back, it was like reliving our day all over again. They came out better then I could have hoped for. They're beautiful and everyone and their mother has commented on how beautiful our wedding photos came out. His work even made a few people cry. Again, he's that good. We are OBSESSED with Pierre-Olivier!!! I had a clear idea in my head of what I wanted our wedding pictures to look like. And it wasn't easy to find a photographer that I absolutely loved; After all, this are pictures you will be showing everybody and will keep forever. After visiting sooooooo many photographers websites with the same cliche, super posed, very unnatural, and let me say, VERY overpriced pictures I was very close to giving up and just settling for the least bad. I am glad I didn't. I don't even know how I stumbled across Pierre's blog, but as soon as I saw it, I knew he was the perfect guy for the job. I contacted him and soon after we were meeting each other on skype as we live in different coasts. My husband was very hands off with the wedding but there were two things that were very important to him: the music, and the pictures. As soon as we hung up, we knew we couldn't have anybody else. The guy is cool, relaxed, knows what he is taking about and knew exactly what we wanted from the pictures. Now the question was, how much is this gonna cost us? He surely cant be cheap. Well, I was SO surprised at how reasonably priced he was!!! Could this even be real? We flew to Palm Springs soon after to finalize everything with our vendors and meet him personally for our engagement session. We didn't know what to expect but he had already scouted some locations and knew exactly what he wanted do to and it was such a great experience! He made us feel comfortable from the get go and after just a couple of hours we had taken the most beautiful pictures!!! The actual weekend of the wedding he was there the night before to photograph our rehearsal dinner, as well as the wedding. And you can be sure he is yours for the whole day and will be there for all the very special moments, from getting ready, to the last song of the party. He is like a ninja, you don't even know he is there but when you see the pictures you just ask yourself how he can even capture these moments. He makes everybody look good and just has a special eye for this things and is a true artist. We are very very impressed and incredibly happy with the results. They just look so natural and happy. He really captured what a special weekend it was , and I am just so proud to show them around.
