*** AWFUL EXPERIENCE- Avoid Pier Realty and especially the South Pier Road property I would give this zero stars if possible. I have never in my life experienced a more disorganized management system between Sandra and the home owner. I rented this with 2 other students for the academic school year. Since September, we have put multiple work orders in and none of them have been fixed (it is currently February). we have kept up with this constantly, asking when each issue would be fixed, and the reply would be "___ has been fixed" when clearly still not working. Our door knob was broken preventing us from entering the house, so their "solution," after threatening to notify the fire department about the safety issue, was to remove the doorknob completely and put a piece of tape, yes I said tape, over the hole where the door knob was. not to mention this was in January when temperatures were sub 20 degrees. On top of this, the door was fine until the "management came" over break to fix the shower door which we also waited months to be fixed. Again we put this order in September and it was fixed in January. *** The biggest problem has been our dryer squeaking so loudly that we cannot be in the house while it is running. We have put multiple orders in, even had a technician come and order a part, however the owner refused to repair it because it "still works." We were told he is waiting until the dryer breaks then it will be repaired. Lastly, the driveway is destroyed. it is filled with pot holes at least 4 inches deep so with any type of precipitation the entire lot floods. Again we addressed this in September, has still not been fixed, so if you're into ice skating, come down for a nice skate when its cold. To reiterate, each reply is some sort of excuse and none of the issues are addressed. Don't waste your time, or money. Save the stress, and avoid being scammed. read more

Completely unprofessional, constantly break the lease by showing up with no notice or sending people to come into your home with no notice at all. Have woken up to random men doing work on my deck near the window. Mice and black mold in the houses, they took care of the mice problem (sending an exterminator with NO warning) but have yet to even check out the mold which could be a serious health concern. NEVER rent from this company. read more

Well I rented a vacation home from this company in early July. Very disappointed. I could not get in the home until after 5 pm and there were few amenities in the house. No toaster, dishwasher didn't work and the space is very small. I am still waiting on my deposit even though I left the home in very good condition - all trash disposed of, swept etc. The house looked very tidy! read more

They made our vacation very stressful. They are a nightmare! They are disrespectful and rented us a beach house in terrible condition. It was not ready to be rented. Good location, but bad service and bad condition. - One air conditioner had a mouse nest in it (and the other window of the same bedroom had a birds nest inside the screen). The other AC had black mold. -The toaster smoked the house. (And the photo showed a toaster oven, not a toaster. She said it was the same thing. Can you make pizza and french fries there?) -In the room where the kids were staying there was a big mirror without a frame just sitting on the floor standing up. - Spiderwebs all over the entrance. -Grass was high. -The bathroom did not have a cover to the light switch. - They moved us to another house because cable/ wifi was not ready on that one. Then, the other house did not have it ready either! We asked to go back to the first one, that had a bigger yard. She agreed and asked us to move by 3pm on the next day. I said we would move at 1pm when we arrived from the beach. At 9am she knocked at the door and told us to move RIGHT AWAY. We had to pack everything quick (including hot dishes out of the dishwasher). - There was a picture of a big grass area and a beautiful tree, what I thought it was in our backyard. It was to share with the other houses they rent, and there were about 30 people having a cookout there. - On the last morning we were there, at 6m, there were a lot of noises going on. They were moving furniture next door at 6am to get ready for another poor guest!!!! I have pictures of everything to prove. read more

I rented a small town house from Pier Realty with a couple of my friends for the school year. When we got there many of the appliances didn't work and the house wasn't cleaned. We had a lot of problems with the house such as issues with the toilet and bathtub and kitchen sink. Some of these issues weren't fixed for weeks. When our lease was over they took a significant amount of money out. They took $50 for a coffee pot that we didn't use, $50 for a propane tank we didn't use, and then $300 out for cleaning. The pictures they sent with our remaining security deposit only showed a few crumbs underneath the stove and refrigerator. We called the property manager to discuss these charges and she was very inflexible. After calling our realtor he even agreed that the charges were high for such a small house. I wouldn't recommend renting a house from Pier Realty at all. They try to rip you off with unnecessary charges. read more
