Some of the best pizza pies I have had in a while. I trued the prosciutto pie and I also got to try the salami pies. They were both awesome for their own reasons. I also tried the farm house bird which was tender as the love of a newborn puppy. We tried the bourbon bbq sauce it was delicious. Their beer on tap selection is one of the better ones in the PLANO area. Edit: Let me tell you about their gluten free pizza pies. Their gluten free crust is the best thin crust in town. Theirs is thin and crispy and actually has some flavor. Their red sauce is what ties it together with their premium pepperoni. The pepperoni has a nice kick with some nice herbaceous notes. Really amazing service....once we got seated The holidays must have made staffing difficult because we waited and waited.... and waited at the front for a while before someone seated us. And then waited and waited and waited for a while before our waitress came. But our waitress, Brooke, was amazing!! Ordered the side cesar for two, she told us she'd split one full order because it'd be cheaper, and the prosciutto pizza. Brooke must have saw me dipping my crust in the cesar dressing that was leftover--she took my friends salad plate away, but not mine. And she was excellent at making sure our drinks and water cups we never empty. Cesar salad was good! i had the roast chicken lunch and the chicken reminded me of my grandma's. wonderful taste. However, it was so bony, hard to cut. i had to take it home to gnaw on to get the meat off the bones. I don't know how they got so many bones in a chicken half. the silverware is large and heavy, so hard for me to cut things. It came with vegetables that seemed so spicy to be inedible. Kindly they made them again, and this time they were very black peppery. Don't need this on vegetables. However it was pretty good in the end. tasted someone's sausage pizza and it was wonderful, although that person didn't like it, gave it to me. the service was good and attentive and kind, excellent. the ambiance is sort of fake cowboy, with lots of metal everywhere. chairs not too comfortable, hard. Very hard to hear people sitting near you, because of the high ceilings and metal everywhere. I think much of the food is very good, but you have to be careful. Updated 1/11/20: Super strange experience tonight: Ordered the chicken parmigiana with extra chicken. Specified that I wanted no sauce -- just sauce on the side. Asked waiter to request a readback from the chef in order to avoid getting it wrong. Order arrived with sauce all over it along with sauce on the side. Manager came over with the order to explain that they got the order wrong but that these were the LAST TWO PIECES OF CHICKEN IN THE RESTAURANT and asked if I still wanted it. It was very odd. What restaurant runs out of chicken on a Saturday night? They remade the pasta without the sauce but it was still a rather annoying experience being told to 'TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT' and I didn't find the explanation credible at all. I mean, what are the odds that they botch the order on the last two pieces of chicken breast in the restaurant? We've always loved this place and have been coming for years for both brunch and dinner. Today however, we went for dinner and the experience was just not good. We had 2 servers, one was perhaps in training, which was fine, but they were BOTH pretty awkward and soft spoken and never smiled. They were out of over half the white wine list, but still handed us a full menu. I feel like you should open with that as a server or even as the hostess before we start viewing the wine list. Came here during what appeared to be a slow lunch. The staff was friendly but took a long time to come take my order. It was my first time visiting so I asked about what salads options were available for the lunch, half pie half salad, special and the server advised me on all being available less the protein. I got the lunch special with a half salami and half chop salad. After an exorbitant amount of time waiting, the server came out to explain that they had mistakenly made a pizza with mushroom and had to remake my pizza. A few minutes after that, another server came and brought out my salad so I could at least have something to nibble on. I got my pizza 10 minutes after that and promptly asked for a to go container. I waited some more and more and more time to receive my check to no avail. I ended up getting up to pay my tab and my server finally handed me my check with the audacity to up charge me for the salad after this whole experience and without disclosing it up front when I asked. I pointed out that she did not disclose the up-charge once I paid, so she corrected my bill without even giving me the option to tip... think she knew she messed up at this point. My husband & I just had dinner here. Austin was our server. We were at a 4-top table, one side cushion, the other 2 chairs, right across from the open kitchen. This was our first visit to a Pie Tap and the menu was interesting because we were unfamiliar with the different pastas. They have some different meat choices also. It's not a large menu, only 3 sandwiches, about 7 pizzas, quite a few pastas & snacks. We saw 2 of the salads go out and they were enormous - plan on sharing with someone. My husband ordered the lasagna and it was fine. I'm avoiding red sauces so I was more limited on my choices. I chose the Carbonara with bacon and a poached egg. I'd never had a poached egg on anything but the waiter, Austin, said it would enhance the taste, and it did! As usual we had to each take half of our meals home to enjoy another evening. We ordered the chocolate cake but brought it home for later so no review on it. I don't know that we'll return again. Second time here, it's solid. Service is pretty fast. With 14" inch pizzas starting around $16 and cocktails about $10, it can add up quickly. When your marketing department knows how to get the ladies in with a banner that reads $5 beer and wine from 11-5 PM. This place is great for lunch. I say this because what happy hour ends at 5?! The specials are denoted with stars and if you want to taste before you buy the glass it isn't frowned upon (good thing, because I sent back my first glass the other day ).
