My husband and I used online reviews, blogs, and word of mouth recommendations to find our wonderful vendors and we would like to share our experience. From our home in New York, we spent about a year planning our mid-February wedding at the Coral Gables Country Club in Miami Florida with approximately 115 guests. We hired Justin DeMutiis to be our photographer for the wedding and from start to finish he was great. Justin's effort to get to know our personal style in the beginning of the process resulted in poses we felt comfortable with, the questionnaires he had us fill out before the wedding were key in scheduling the shots we wanted, and his overall calm and helpful demeanor was appreciated amidst the stress of planning a wedding long distance. Justin primarily works in the Tampa area, but traveled to Miami for us and even helped us find other vendors with a similar aesthetic and level of professionalism. We recently received the images from our wedding and they are beautiful. Justin used both a digital and a film camera and has an talent for working with natural light that results in crisp images with great depth and tone. The photographs truly captured the spirit of our wedding and we're glad that we entrusted Justin with the difficult task of documenting our special day.

She was on time and prepared. Annie said several times that she was willing to take any individual and group shots we wanted. She would also pause to fix hair (important on a windy beach!), adjust clothing and make suggestions for poses. Our granddaughter is 1 year old and she was patient and broke up the shots she was in, so she didn't get cranky. We got our pictures back this week and they are stunning! I would 100% recommend Annie and Black Pineapple Photography.

I was thrilled to discover they had a sunset opening on the exact date we needed! Liz, our photographer, was absolutely amazing. She exceeded all of our expectations! Liz was very attentive and efficient during our one-hour session. We have a big family with many different dynamics, and she was excellent at pairing us up in a timely manner. We had never done a shoot with this side of the family before, and the photos turned out so beautiful. I am incredibly excited to get these framed and hung up, creating cherished memories that will last for years to come. It was the perfect way to recap an amazing week at the beach with family. Thank you so much, Liz!!

Hi all!. I just want to share with the group a disturbing encounter I had with a peer of ours…read more Stephanie Newkirk (or Stephanie Cochrane as she also goes by) and I connected on a Tampa photography board. I had arranged to do a very special shoot with her to celebrate my six months sobriety after 14 years of battling alcoholism. We did the shoot on a Tuesday and she assured me that photographs would be ready within 24 to 48 hours. During this time she made me sign a waiver, and she also put together an extensive list of questions that she would like me to do for HER photography business vlog about MY sobriety. She gave me homework! After five days, the images were still not ready and when she finally sent me the gallery -- the images were marked with "PROOF" ALL OVER THEM (the shoot was unpaid for both of us and a trade for talent). I have done countless TFPs at this point with many photographers and though they use stamps and things to ensure that their work is given due credit (as is only right) they do not make it a habit of destroying images from the viewer let alone the model in the creative process. This shoot was so VERY important to me and obviously was very sentimental. She knew my sobervesary was on a Thursday (and I have no problem with being patient), photoshoot was on a Tuesday and still the following Monday she is holding my images hostage. She insisted upon a phone call to which she told me that this was her process and that she would destroy the images rather than go back-and-forth with me. As a person with autism and ADHD, it's very hard for me to see past imperfections and small details. When I asked her to do this, she was completely adamant that she would not accommodate my request. I still have not been in receipt of any of the images and I refuse to beg for them anymore as it's not only demeaning, but it's very hurtful to think that art that you created -- and that you put more than decade into actually accomplishing) -- someone would just take away for no reason other than just be hurtful. Because what other motive is there for even making such a threat? I thought that I would come forward with this because as I've worked with so many great artists collaborators in the community, this seems to go against everything that we stand for. From I've observed, this is a place for creative expression and not one person I've met seems in the habit of stealing, being underhanded and trying to pass off work as not their own. Now, maybe that's just my experience but I haven't seen that. We work together and make these so that we can express, and I just feel really taken advantage of and disappointed. So I come to the group and I also want to ensure that no one ever has to work with this photographer again. Because if she will destroy my six month sobriety photo shoot what does this woman hold sacred?

I went in for my newly scheduled appointment, and was told after waiting about 7-10 minutes that there was no appointment on record for me. I finally got my time in the studio and my photographer was AMAZING! I don't want to lie about his name, but he was the only cool white guy there, and had just returned from Europe doing photography there. The pictures came out amazing on screen. Here is where things start to go sour again. My sales rep, Lisa, was NOT the real deal! Her service wasn't very proper to be working in a photo studio. I have had better service at Portrait Innovations (family pictures taken as recent as in November 2011) and Olan Mills. From recommending a better finish on pictures, to being patient with selecting pictures, to helping with order sheets and the order process in general (including delivery and pickup of pictures), things should be revamped, or maybe the rep retrained. Anyway, today is past the 2 weeks for my pictures to arrive, and I will be calling tomorrow to check on the status of my order. I can only hope that the service over the phone will be better and that my pictures are here sooner, rather than later.
