The food and drink is nothing short of amazing; authentic yet a little larger to feed an European appetite which is a nice touch. However, everything else lets this place down; The sitting arrangement is awful unless you're one of the lucky few to get one of the first three tables. We got seated in the back where unless you're a size 8, you'll be sitting up straight like your momma always told you to sit... The service bell was ringing insistently while the waitress was flirting with the guys at the improvised bar tightly placed across from the rear tables. She then decided to take their order even though they've just walked in and we were waiting for the best part of half an hour. The food was a little erratic to come out but no one in the party had to wait too long. This summer I was on an out of the way beach in Spain and the lonely wee mojito stand had contactless payment... Ok... rant over. However, at this place you're either supposed to walk out in the Glasgow cold to get cash or walk around with a wad of £75 -£100 just to pay for dinner. And forget it if you actually had financial plans and wanted to use a credit card!
I think I'll hold off my next visit until I see a sign for new management or when it is likely that the current waiting staff have moved on and the owner has realised that he needs to get down with...the naughties? read more
