All of the camping spots are spacious, well laid out and with amazing lake views. The team here are very friendly and helpful. There's a perimeter path around the lake with benches every so often, so you can go for a walk or a cycle, or bird watching all around. There are also available restrooms sprinkled around the 'road side' of the lake. Highly recommend if you enjoy peace and quiet and being 'out in nature' - I certainly intend to return!

We arrived at Kershaw-Ryan and weren't happy about how small and close the campsites are to each other. We were looking for a spacious area. Our next choice was Cathedral Gorge Campground, but we learned they too were full when phoned. Next option, Echo Canyon State Park, which is 43 mins away from Kershaw-Ryan. Our hour and half trip turned into a well worth it three hour journey. Echo Canyon is exactly what we initially wanted for a campground. Beautiful scenery, spacious, remote, plenty of availability, water stations at each campsite, trails, lots of geodes for kids to find, a fishing lake, an unexpected mini library and clean restrooms. Very well maintained campground. We loved everything about Echo Canyon State Park. Our kids didn't want to leave. We'll definitely make the three hour drive back here.

We did the Moon Canyons and Cathedral Canyons, and honestly...why is this not on everyone's list?? For like $5 (Nevada resident win), you get access to these insane slot canyon formations that feel like you're walking through another planet. The further you go in, the better it gets, not just visually, but temperature-wise too. It was still in the 90s outside, but inside the canyons it was actually COOLER, which felt like a luxury at that point in our trip. We basically spent the whole time weaving through these super-narrow canyon passages and just being in awe the entire time. At the visitor center, we realized this is basically the thing Cathedral Gorge is known for, and it makes total sense. The slot canyons alone are worth the stop. We didn't even do much else in the park, but honestly, we didn't feel like we needed to. 10/10 recommend. Hidden gem. Easily one of the best surprises of the whole camping era so far.

A little hiking up can also be done but be careful. If you knock on the walls of this place it has a hollow sound so walking on top of these natural structures might give way. $10.00 for a non resident to park and $5.00 for Nevada residents. Don't skip out paying as they come around and check to see you have a receipt on your dashboard.

Still giving 2 stars since I think it's a good location for recreation, hunting, fishing, etc. and the RV spots won't share this issue.

Great little reservoir that they stock with trout every year. The cabins are OK they haven't been maintained that well. It's more about the experience and spending time with my boys and my dad. If you're looking for something fancy this is not the place for you. It's definitely a fisherman's paradise. The prices are very reasonable we got the "big" 2 bedroom cabin with kitchenette for $129 a night. They don't sell fishing licenses anymore but you can purchase them online with your phone. They have a full bar and a few slot machines. They have a small store that sells camping supplies, food, bait and booze. Great for a boys weekend.
