I have come here before for car parts. There is an entry fee, currently $2 per person (at the time of writing).
You remove the part yourself (and BYO tools) and there is no guarantee the part will be there. There is a database that tells you when the car came in, the closer to the date you are, the higher chance that the part is still there. Parts prices are very decent and the staff are often willing to do deals (if you buy more).
I find that post-1990 domestic cars (Ford, Holden, Mitsubishi and Toyota) tend to be better represented at this yard. Other Japanese makes are relatively there but this yard tends to be thin on American/German brands. Korean brands are somewhere in the middle. Their van/4WD selection is also somewhat limited as well.
The location has a decent amount of parking but is poorly serviced by Public Transport (unsurprisingly).
It is worth a visit (and to keep up with their website if you need specific parts). read more
