They do have some rather restrictive rules in terms of what you can do when you go to the rooftop you must drink and eat at the tables and the bar. It was fine for us. after a long day of shopping and walking we were ready for the beautiful sunset, a nice meal and some delicious cocktails... We had the spicy cauliflower and the Yucatán salad . very fresh, very delicious... And once again the music was pumping to a beat that kept us dancing in our seats

    What a view!

Culinary masterpiece and what a view! My husband and I made reservations a couple of nights before. I can honestly say this is the best meal I have had in Merida so far. The ambience was chillaxing although a bit too dark- had a hard time seeing the menu. From what the weather explain to us, it seems it is a cooperative effort we're different local chefs add items to the menu. Everything we had was absolutely delicious! We started off with a couple of drinks - I'm. It a big cocktail sampler , I stick to what I like which tonight was a Negroni and it was just right. I don't usually order appetizers because I don't like feeling too full but these sounded too good to pass up so we went with the lobster tacos which were sensational! Light and fresh! Here's the description: Flour tortilla lobster tacos with white beans, xcatik chilli alioli, creamy avocado and roasted pumpkin seeds. Entrees were the rack de Cordero lamb: Rack of Lamb Marinated in mint, green pepper and rosemary, plantain pureé, chimichurri sauce, beets and local squash chargrilled. And the ribeye Rib eye with guava chutney, Xtabentun and yucatecan beer reduction (Ceiba-Stout) Plus the salad: Fresh Salad With guava, strawberry, pumpkin seeds, cherry tomato, local honey and ancient mustard dressing accompanied with creamy cheese. Yowza!! Dessert: Chocolate fudge with berries and flowers ice cream A bit pricey for Yucatán but absolutely worth it! Everything was so good that we are super tempted to go back although I would like to try a new place but if you haven't been GO!

Pork taco appetizer. They were so delicious.

Unbelievably good. The flavors were absolutely incredible! The traditional food of the area is a bit more bland and Picheta wakes your palate! We had three starters so we could experience more flavors, the all were amazing in their own way. Incredible. Our waiter, Carlos, was very attentive.

Without reservations on a Saturday night we were seated immediately with a view of the parque. Music was a DJ expertly spinning 1970's Disco. We opened with a bottle of Casa Madero Gran Reserva cabernet and Cauliflower Marinated in Hot Spiced Chilli Sauce With guacamole and grilled pineapple. (Chef Geraldine Abraham) followed by Beef Steak "Aguachile" With tortilla ash rub, roasted avocado, cucumber, onion and coriander. (Chef Vidal Elias) The cauliflower had a noticeable lime that was expertly cooled by the pineapple and avocado. The aguachile was limey, too, but hot as hell with habanero. Tiny tortilla slivers added a salty crunch. As mains we chose Vegetarian Lasagna Filled with mushrooms, bell pepper, local pumpkin, chaya bechamel and parmesan cheese. (Chef Rodolfo Barrientos) and Ravioli with ricota and longaniza de valladolid Ravioli with ricota cheese and longaniza, sauce with xcatic chili. Accompanied with artisan bread and parmesan cheese (Chef Yadira Caamal) The vegetarian lasagna was flavorful but possibly too many mushrooms for my partner's liking but I noted more passilla chile flavor. My ravioli was dominated by the sauce and really smacked of a simple béchamel. The sausage was very subtle and too weak for my tastebuds. Deliciouso! We closed with Vanilla Biscuit and Edam cheesecake desserts. Both were accented by finely sliced local fruit. Yum! At precisely 8:00PM every table in the place filled and the music rolled over to contemporary. Buenos noches!

I've never had a sit down meal here but the the main dining area is very nice and there is another section that is open to the sky. Customers are a combination of locals and visitors. It's enchanting at night watching the lighted towers of the old cathedral standing watch over the Merida night sky...sitting at a candle lit table with cool Yucatan breezes blowing. It's a far remove from the hustle and bustle of the narrow, crowded downtown streets and the lively plaza. I ordered a pumpkin seed-based salsa which was prepared table side in a stone vessel. My friend ordered the grilled fish with rice, pickled carrots, onions and sauces. Both were delicious. We also had nice drinks, red wine sangria, and beer. What was perhaps the best feature of the place is the excellent waitstaff who are bilingual, who are helpful with making you feel comfortable, who provide charming conversation and tips, and who are generally well trained in hospitality. Such a far cry from the dour and arrogant wait staff typically found in Washington DC restaurants. This is a good place for a quiet escape from the plaza crowd.
