The staff stays very active and busy, but barring any unexpected and serious emergencies, they run pretty close to on time. This is not a cookie-cutter corporate nightmare. This is a home-like environment with a down to earth group of people who are amazing at what they do. I would not trust my canine best friends with anyone else.

We were really nervous regarding COVID-19 because we didn't want to wait too long where we put our puppy more at risk. I gave Ironwood a call and surprisingly- the receptionist said they had an opening that same afternoon! Unfortunately we weren't able to make it that day, but we did schedule an appointment for the following morning. For COVID-19 regulations; you're supposed to call the office upon your arrival. I gave them a call and mentioned my: appointment time, pet's name, my name, phone number, and vehicle information. Since I was a new patient, they called again after a few minutes to get additional information. After five minutes, a technician arrived at my car and was super friendly! She greeted my puppy very excitedly and informed me what we'll be doing at the appointment. Before we knew it, they went into the office. After 15 minutes, Dr. Polosetski gave me a call to discuss my new puppy. He went over what they did and her overall health. He was very informative when I had a couple of questions to ask him. After five minutes, the receptionist called me again to collect payment. I paid a total of $150 for the exam, a Parvo shot, a microchip, and deworming medication. I was very surprised and pleased by the overall cost. After a few minutes, the same technician came out with my puppy. She briefly, once again, went over what they procedures they did. My puppy was sent home with some medication, so there was a cute bag filled with the medicine as well as information regarding the microchip. Overall, I'm so happy with my experience with Ironwood. I don't feel ashamed to call them with any questions, as I am a new puppy-mom, because I definitely trust their advice! :)

The CT Scan found her colon was leaking into her abdomen. Surgery showed that she had 3 holes in her colon. My sweet girl died 3 day after the surgery because she was malnourished from diarrhea and vomiting under Dr. Opfenring care. My dog weighed 17 pounds but under Dr. Opfenring care she went down to 9.9 pounds. My husband and my 12 year old schnauzer died in 1999 so Zoe was all I had and I miss her so much.

I had been visiting the HSOY shelter website for about a month and following the progress of one kitty in particular. His name was Pocket. He was only about 3 months old when he came into the shelter. He was already experiencing a painful event in his life besides waiting for a forever-home. Little Pocket only has one eye. When introduced to him, it was like things just felt right! When people say the animal picks you, they are not mistaken. He had the biggest purr. The first evening at his new home maybe took 3-4 hours for him to overcome his nervousness with curiosity. He started to play with his new toys and checking his environment out. He deserved this!
