I took a good walk from my hotel to Parco Scampia. This allowed me to see more of the daily life…read moreaway from a downtown location. The sights and sounds along the walk showed things you may expect from this country: corner or street produce set ups, shrines along the roadways or in front of the residences, local traffic and cars honking.
Approaching the park vicinity, and walking along Via Ettore Ciccotti, the sounds dwindled. The area has a police station, an amphitheater and high rise housing with of course, air drying laundry. On this day, a truck was driving through the neighborhood speaking on a megaphone.

The park itself is decorated with its charm of overgrown grass or weeds and stone stair cases that look like ruins. Lizards skitter through the weeds. Wild flowers and tree blooms are out to greet the sun. And me...
Enjoy the nature shots I captured. Sorry no baby ducks, geese, or swans here ;)
