This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Argentina. The atmosphere is spectacular with indoor and outdoor seating, covered patio and al fresco dining. The music is soft and romantic. The staff is very attentive and the food is outstanding. read more

We went here because it is the fanciest winery and restaurant in Cafayate. The restaurant didn't disappoint. The menu was varied, including well known Argentine favorites like sweet breads and regional classics like humitas, both with gourmet flare. We ordered the sweet breads, a homemade pasta flavored with the regional Cachi chili pepper (exceedingly mild and wouldn't rate much higher than paprika or black pepper) with a homemade sun dried tomato pesto, and an order of humitas, a local corn porridge dish cooked with milk and cheese. We also ordered two glasses of wine, one each, because wet were tasting that day and had already been to two places further down the road. If I was rating the restaurant alone, Piatelli would rate 5 stars. I would order every dish again. The sweet breads were some of the best I've ever had. The pasta was al dente and full of flavor. The humita was creamy, well spiced (Not to be confused with spicy), and comforting. Alas this winery is receiving a three star review for issues that should be addressed. First, this is a very fancy winery but the road to it, even the road in the winery is unpaved. I thought I only had to deal with unpaved roads if I was going to Cachi or Molina. Nope! The roads are so bumpy to get to and within the winery that some day tasters may get sick. Why on earth wouldn't yoh invest some money on a paved road. The rest of the winery screams "money, money, money!" The second and more serious problem to me lies in the tasting room. For those of us who taste wine to drink at home, we may seek to go to a few wineries. This means that consumption amount is limited. It also means the driver must stay sober enough to drive safely, and it often means that driver doesn't have his or her own tasting. Oh, and don't forget tiny people like me who are always toeing the line with getting sick off wine by consuming more than 2 glasses of over three hours or less. That was my situation. My bf was driving, wet wanted to share tastings when possible and both wineries up the road let us do so. We were eager to try Piatellis wine. They export, which means I might actually see the wines I the US. They told us no. Seriously?!? We'd just split three dishes at your restaurant. We were looking to do either tasting, the cheap or high end. We just couldn't handle our own tasting after a glass of wine with a late lunch and two prior split tastings. Come on. Change that, and you may get better rating. read more
