Diversified Consultants are a bunch of low-lifes who purchase uncollected bills / debt from…read morecompanies and then harass consumers to pay. In my case they bought a supposedly uncollected bill dating back to the YEAR 2000 and sixteen years later starting calling me at all hours with recorded phone call, robodialing, and asking me a lot of questions: "Is this Mr. X" "Who's asking?" "I am Paul calling from Diversified Consultants" "I need to verify some information from you" "Ever hear of phishing? I'm not answering any of your questions." "I am calling about Direct TV" "I don't want Direct TV and you ARE a telemarketer -- trying to sell me Direct TV." "I am not trying to sell you Direct TV." "Good." [hangup] This repeated itself like 5 times until they eventually gave up. Then they started messing with my credit reports filing "uncollected bills" as a clear form of extortion to get me to pay a bill that I have no recollection of incuring (I'm not sure if I even had Direct TV and if I did, I always pay all my bills and have lived in the same house for 15 years ... so why does this pop-up 16 years later?) The answer is that there is a now an industry of scumbags who do this for a living and these guys are one of them. If they are harassing you complain to the Better Business Bureau and write your local elected officials. http://www.npr.org/2014/10/09/354846672/bad-paper-explores-the-underworld-of-debt-collection
