She doesn't even deserve one star. I was pregnant with my twins and didn't have a lot of money being a single mother but I figured the $250 may be worth it seeing her other pictures. I was completely wrong.. not only did I have to wait a whole year to receive anything after excuses and lies about "having problems" sending my pictures. She was impossible to reach!!! She is consistently online and chooses to ignore everyone. After receiving maybe 10 average pictures over Facebook messenger I gave up. IT SHOULDN'T TAKE A YEAR FOR 10 PICTURES. then she offers a makeup session for my girls and I..yeah absolutely not. DO NOT waste your money.. I am so upset at the face I cant get my belly back so someone could redo them.. but it is what it is. Those are memories I can't get back. Go to ANYONE else please!!! She only wants your money and to rip you off obviously. read more

Pretty awful experience. Contacted her one week before after another photographer had cancelled on me last minute. Thought I was safe but when I followed up with her a couple of days before the day of she didn't respond. Left me completely helpless and with not enough time to get another photographer. Seriously? For sheer courtesy she could have at least emailed me and told me she wasn't going to be able to do the photos. Never heard from her again. read more

Shelly did our family Christmas session and it was a great experience. She was patient with my grandchildren and had lots of fun ideas for our family. The album was delivered quickly and the photos were super cute! Highly recommend her! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. My family is having the exact same issue as the couple above. We hired Shelly to do our wedding. The 6 photos we saw on our honeymoon were great, I even booked and paid for a mommy and me shoot for my wife, after the wedding. It has been weeks and all we get from Shelly is excuses of why she's not done, or she'll give a bogus timeline she doesn't make. We have been told many times we shall get our pictures by email to either not receive a thing, or two receive bogus files. In one email we received the mommy and me photos (late from what she said on those as well) the other were unfinished shots of my wedding parties' backs. I can be understanding of busy schedules and people who have part time small businesses, but don't lie. It's unacceptable to set fake deadlines, and continue to just lie to your clients. Shelly has even stated she would call and has not. She has even tried offering us "free shoots in the future". In short if you want to pay for a person to cash your checks then hold you hostage use this company. Or have a no stress wedding and book any other company read more

One of the best photographers I have met. She truly is amazing, she knows how to make you feel beautiful and confident! I wouldn't rather go to any other photographer in Des Moines and if I ever needed pictures away from home I'd ask to take her in my suitcase. I highly recommend shelly read more

I don't like to post negative reviews, but people need to know what they are truly working with when hiring this photographer. We did everything correct on our part to get my sister senior pictures done and expected to be given to us according to her stated dates. We had to keep messaging her to keep us updated on the review pictures. She kept giving us excuses on why we haven't gotten them. We were understanding as there was still time for the final date to submit a senior picture for my sisters school. We messaged her asking for the pictures, no response, nothing back. Then it came down to the final day to submit a senior picture. She still had NO pictures! She gave us another excuse! Until we brought up asking for a refund or taking legal action (since we paid full service), She then decided to send us pictures that same day late in the evening! I'm assuming because she still needed to edit them! Otherwise she would've just sent them.. so none of the pictures we took from her that day were used for my sisters senior picture. read more

I just wanted to take a minute to share the experience that my husband and I had with Shelly Randle (Photography by Randle) over this past year, to hopefully prevent anyone else from going through what we went through with her. We hired Shelly to take our wedding photos on May 14th of this year, as well as our engagement pictures a few weeks prior to the wedding. After six months of being given the run-around, being ignored, being given low-resolution photos and excuses, being falsely promised over and over again that I would be receiving our pictures, after having to constantly reach back out to Shelly multiple times, and after seeing another bride post on her wall who seemed to be experiencing the same issues as me as far as being ignored by Shelly and not receiving her pictures either, (who's post was promptly deleted from Shelly's wall) I decided to post on Shelly's wall too to see if I would finally get an answer and my post was quickly deleted as well. Yesterday, we FINALLY received our wedding pictures, only after threatening to take legal action. These past 6 months have been a nightmare worrying about if we were ever going to see our wedding pictures, and I don't want any other families to have to worry about losing their photographs either. I have never dealt with a photographer who was as unprofessional as Shelly, and I hope that no one else experiences anything like this in the future. read more

I agree with all previous reviews. DO NOT USE SHELLY RANDLE PHOTOGRAPHY! We hired her to do our courthouse wedding, which was a two hour session. She was very nice during, and the contract I signed stated she would have all my pictures to me within 2 weeks (great!). Shelly contacted me about a week and a half after our wedding and told me my pictures would be posted that evening. When there was nothing sent to me, I gave her a couple days and our contract deadline came and went. I reached out to her and politely asked about our photos and she gave various excuses as to why we didn't have anything. One week of excuse making, ignoring me, and still no photos later, I told her I wanted my money back or my photos by the following day. That seemed to get her attention and she ended up sending some photos. She didn't include any from our actual ceremony, but assured me that she would have them to me the next day. Again, it's been a week and I still have no photos from our ceremony. At this point, I've given up. The memories from our special day will have to remain in our minds because I don't think I will end up seeing any pictures. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR SENIOR PHOTOS DONE WITH SHELLY RANDLE!!!! Like another former customer said, she ignores her clients. Shelly also ignored a friend of mine too, she wouldn't send the photo's on the day she claimed they would be ready. I was lied to about three times before the photos were sent to me for my senior photos. A lot of photos looked VERY BAD, she puts the nice ones on her facebook page. She is disrespectful and her price is too high for her service!!! She charges $250 when the photos were CRAP, LATE, and not as promised. I was promised over 100 photos and received about 70, and within those 70 only 5 looked good, a lot were just duplicates with different filters. Please save yourself the money and stay away from this obese crook!!! She is a liar and a thief. read more

Like the previous review, my wife and I had a horrible experience with Photography by Randle. We hired Shelly to take our wedding photos on 7/23/2016. We waited two months before contacting her about the status of our pictures. She told me they were done and that she would send a link the next day. Her message to me the next day contained no link. I told her this and got no response. For three weeks, my wife and I messaged Shelly and were ignored. It was only after my wife wrote Shelly expressing her frustration with waiting on the pictures that she responded, apologizing and offering us a free photo session in the future to make up. Shelly uploaded about half the photos from our wedding. My wife has contacted Shelly twice a week since then inquiring about the remaining photos. Shelly either ignored the message or offered up an excuse (which was different each time). On 11/15/206, my wife wrote Shelly and calling her out for out for giving us the run around and making promises she couldn't keep. This got Shelly to respond and upload the rest of our pictures the next day. Shelly is the most unprofessional photographer I have dealt with and we will not be taking her up on the free session. Marriage is supposed to be a time of happiness and joy for newlyweds and this or ordeal has put unneeded stress on both my wife and I. read more

Looks like we weren't the only one's with terrible service. The previous review, by Leah P. is right on. We had Shelly do our engagement and wedding photos for our May 28th wedding and just finally received our photos in November. During the whole time, we reached out to Shelly several times every month and heard the same promises and were given the same run around each time. One of our biggest complaints would be the lack of professionalism and timeliness. We received several wedding pictures in a link about 3 months after our wedding, but when we looked at them, none of them were from our formal photos we requested. We had listed out each photo we wanted with each person named, maybe 15 of the 45 were included in the first link. In my mind, the requested photos should have been priority. We are STILL waiting on a book of pictures we were promised. In addition, when we went to get our pictures developed, the resolution was so bad that the largest print we could get was a 5x7. This has been a horrible experience and it's not even over yet. I would HIGHLY recommend using anyone but Shelly for your wedding or family pictures UPDATE: it is now 8 months past our wedding and we still have not received our book we were promised.
