I was recommended to DeeDee by another local photographer who was unavailable for the date I needed. Turns out DeeDee was exactly what I was looking for!! We hired her to take some special family photos for us (13 of us, including kids!!) to celebrate my 1.5 yr old son who had just beat cancer. So it was not a small group, and it was an extremely meaningful photo shoot for us. So it was absolutely necessary that we picked the right photographer! At first I thought maybe DeeDee was only a newborn photographer, but I realized that she photographs all kinds of events, and she was perfect for what we wanted! Once I communicated my ideas and vision to her of what I wanted, she totally got it! On the day of the shoot, she was so easy going yet very professional. She already had a plan of how she wanted to group us for photos. She told us exactly what to do and how to pose, (yet in a very natural way, not like we were trying too hard), which was exactly the type of photographer I was looking for! She was so easy to work with, and great with the kids (who btw were not the most cooperative , but DeeDee was amazing in getting their attention and making them smile.. not to mention fast with that camera!) The photos turned out amazing and we loved working with DeeDee. She sent us all the edited photos within a week, which was super fast! We also got to sneak in a couple baby bump shots at the end, and I'm so disappointed we won't be able to hire DeeDee for our newborn shoot when the new baby arrives, since we live so far away! But we will see.. she might just be worth the drive up to central CA again Would totally recommend DeeDee, and would definitely hire her for our next event if it works out. For starters, there is no one else I'd have photograph my newborn. We first fell in love with her photography skills when my sweetheart and I came to the central coast for our babymoon. We wanted to use this vacation to also take our maternity photos, and she was happy to accommodate us. She met us at our hotel, discussed our vision, and then drove us to the most beautiful beach location to shoot our pictures. I am not someone who has ever been professionally photographed, so I felt a tad uncomfortable- but trust me when I say that DeeDee was able to give direction in a way that felt very helpful and easy to understand. Our pictures turned out great. Now, let's talk newborn pictures. We live in Sacramento, so while I really wanted DeeDee to capture these first few days- it wasn't really feasible. So I figured what the heck- I'll hire someone up in Sacramento an "up and coming newborn photographer". We photographed her during that window of time that DeeDee suggested 7-14 days, and then waited another 2 weeks to get the photos back. And they were HORRIBLE. I immediately called DeeDee and I know sound a little crazy here- but we actually drove 5 hours to DeeDee's studio to have her re-take our baby's precious newborn photos, and would you know, they are AMAZING. DeeDee is so patient, and has all the sweetest props, softest blankets, warmest space, best natural lighting, and snacks! If you are considering DeeDee, look no further. I stumbled across DeeDee almost 7 years ago through a recommendation from a friend. Now, almost 7 years later, I can honestly say that there isn't anyone else I would want to capture pictures of my girls. She is an incredibly talented photographer, kindhearted in nature, and personable. She puts you and your family at ease during your shoot. DeeDee is so sweet, patient and caring! She did our second son's newborn pictures and we absolutely loved them! I'm really glad I got to enjoy this special moment with her. I watched her handle my newborn with such care and a softness that made me feel so comfortable.
