How did I not know about PHOESTIVUS!? My cousin asked to tag along over the weekend. We arrived a little after 5 PM. Of course downtown was busy however we were able to find street side parking close by. This is the best place to get all your holiday shopping and to support all your local vendors/ artists! There's a mix of 170 vendors. We also enjoyed the food trucks! We snacked on popcorn, papusas, and tamales. Yummy! Everything we ate was very delicious. I'd come back again next holiday! Neat market, it takes up a whole block. All local valley vendors from Goodyear to Chandler. Food, jewelry, vintage goods, soap, plants, art, and more. The Yeti wonders and you can take a photo with him, there's a hip Santa you can also take a photo with. You can air your grievances, and what you're grateful about. There was a glass making demonstration from a studio. There was live jazzy music which I loved. Overall, a nice holiday market. There is street parking, metered parking, and a parking garage nearby. It's dog friendly and there's vendors catering to dog products as well. read more

12.15.21 PHOESTIVUS is back and alive! Fun and amazing vibes all around, there's a lot of holiday cheer that can be easily found by everyone. It is accessible, if you're able to find parking in the surrounding vicinity. Let the fun in Street walking begin! There are so many different vendors each offering their own unique products or services, the best part is that a lot of these are local vendors, offering creative and rare gifts/items! Extremely dog friendly! (If they are well behaved :D ) Also have to mention the ale,, and the record bar is very cool. Gives me vibes of the Pressroom outdoor DJ area. Kaliope Glow Car installation is great for instagram pictures! Selfies galore :) ... haha. It feels great to be back in the city, walking around the Phoenix locals. This is our city. So please enjoy responsibly and support local!! I recommend Everest Momo! They have delicious dumplings.. coconut curry was not too spicy , I wish it was a bit crispier but still very delish! Had a mashed potato burrito with beef + hot sauce :) it was definitely great. It's fun to walk around a few laughs, sit down if you can find seating and enjoy yourself, or stand in line and grab a drink. Either way I would definitely recommend coming to festivals while it is still available. Bring your puppy! Or canine companion. :) Street artists are here on display. This is one of the best and unique annual markets in Phoenix! So glad it returned in 2021 in-person. It has definitely gotten better with every year since I first went a few years ago. The vendors used to be...not the greatest. Some vendors only come for one night. #variety It's usually just two nights a year, a few weeks before Christmas. Just like with First Friday, parking can be at a premium, so I highly recommend getting rideshare, taking the Light Rail (use the Roosevelt Row station) or biking there. The basics- local vendors and artisans from around the Valley, food trucks, drink trucks, breweries, live music and everything about Festivus in the span of a few blocks in Roosevelt Row. One of my most favorite things is Hipster Santa... snap a pic with him (or Freddy) at his setting or while he walks around. Air your grievances! Dance around the aluminum pole. While the theme is Christmas market, you're not gonna find only Christmas-themed goods for sale (although I did buy a delicious gingerbread croissant). Lots of Arizona-themed goods and treats and some not in either the Christmas or Arizona category. Great to support local and get in the Christmas spirit! read more

It's almost that magical time of year again when Phoestivus arrives. What is Phoestivus, you ask? Well, Phoestivus is like a farmer's market amped up on steroids for the holidays - a combination of a Weihnachtsmarkt and the Seinfeld's famous non-commercial holiday's celebration with an AZ spin on things. Held at Phoenix Public Market space, the event is expansive with plenty to see and do. A Phoestivus for the rest of us is complete with food trucks, music, special ale, and tons of local vendors to find the perfect holiday gift for a loved one or delicious treat for yo'self. There is an adorable bumblesque yeti mascot, a not-so-talkative Hipster Santa and reindeers (dressed up baby goats). You can take a photo with the Phoestivus pole (with none of that distracting tinsel), air your grievances, and take a turn at the pheats of strength that may or may not make George Costanza run away in a panic. Last year, we were lucky enough to experienced a rare Phoestivus miracle - when we circled back for donuts at the end of the night Lior's had a few left! If the event wasn't so crowded, it would be five stars all the way. But, hey, you can't blame everyone for wanting to be part of all the fun. read more

Such a fun event that has become a tradition with our family. The event is usually held the last 2 Thursdays before Christmas. We easily found street parking and used our app park mobile and it was only $3.50 for 2 hours of parking. Some of the same vendors that are there at the Saturday farmer's market but lots of different ones as well. Arizona themed products and goods. Handmade ornaments etc. I loved all the food and coffee trucks and they even had a "caroling" truck. You could take your picture with the "hipster" Santa Claus. There was a old truck that was set up for smaller kids to explore. It got really crowded around 7pm but so much fun and festive. Also there's no entrance fee which I really liked. This is a really well organized and well packed holiday market. There were a wide variety of artists and chefs whose homemade goods looked really well made and heartfelt. There was free parking in a lot adjacent to the Phx Public Market - maybe could fit ~40-50 cars or so? There was a guy in a construction worker vest who was directing traffic at the entrance. I was able to find a spot in the lot when I went at ~6:30PM. I know there's a park and ride that has plenty of parking but for 0-2hrs it's $5, and I did not want to pay for parking. Highlights: 1. Affordable goods! If you really want to but something but have a small budget, Jar of Buttons sells pins/magnet buttons for $1-2. You could also buy a holiday card for $4-5 or they have deals if you buy 5-6 cards. 2. Photo time! Idk what he's supposed to be but the mascot for this event was walking around. There was a photo booth - the ones at weddings? And you could also take a photo with hipster Santa. Definitely go with friends and family! I went alone just to chk the festival out and it's super awk to just take a photo solo. 3. Lots of food! There were savory and sweet foods and food from food trucks. Just literally everything. Beignets, donuts, burritos, coffee, middle eastern sweets, thai food, etc. Cons: 1. Limited seating. People were mostly eating their food on the grass or sidewalk. 2. Super crowded. There were instances where I couldn't walk through bc a couple people were looking at a shop. read more

OK starting with the food highly recommend you start with the food trucks just in case. We waited until the end and came late and the trucks did run out of Few things. There were so many great plant-based and vegan options At all the booths and vendors. I really enjoyed the Saffron Jak vegan almond cheese. The holiday cheese plate looks fantastic. I cannot wait to serve it on Christmas. I also love the spice guy with the bloody Mary mix and the barbecue chips seasoning! Definitely check this out. Parking is a pain so carpool! read more

One of the best street festivals I've been to. Vendors were unique and the ambiance was lively despite the freezing cold whether. I highly recommend you stop by if you have the chance! Some of my favorite vendors: - Gourmet Chocolate by StoneGrindz (they have free samples! Try the raspberry flavor) - Jar of Buttons: super creative and cute stickers, keychains, patches, magnets, enamel pins. These make for really cute and inexpensive gifts. They're punny and they even have Harry Potter themed stuff. - OKC BBQ: the nicest people here! Their bbq sauces are healthy and taste great. - Lots of vendors selling Phoenix themed stuff aka great for souvenirs or holiday gifts! read more

So my wife and I have been coming to Phoestivus for 3 years. It is an artsy festival that has amazing and unique gifts to get your family for the holiday season! They have a brilliant selection of items to choose from, a lot of local artists and shops come to this festival. It is truly a great gem and another reason to visit downtown! If you haven't been, you need to come and visit! It is great for the whole family and your dog! It is a very dog friendly venue. You won't be wasting your time and on top of that, they have food trucks galore! It's free to the public and just a lot of fun! The Phoestivus last night was a lot of fun. My hubby and I walked around and looked at all the cool things that people were selling and tried a couple of samples too. I bought a cute bracelet from Pure Life Forever by Jenny. After walking around we decided to have Short Leash for dinner. Short Leash was amazing as always. :) When walking around earlier that night we saw that they had a photo booth. So we decided to get our picture taken from Social Station and the picture turned out great. On our way out we stopped by the Yelp Table and had Lindsey F. wrap our gift for us. She did a great job on our gift. :) Next week they are doing Phoestivus again. So, if you are in downtown next Wednesday you should check out Phoestivus. read more

A Phoestivus for the rest of us! Well, it looks like I am on a Seinfeld theme tonight, which is ok by me. And if you have a problem with that, I suggest you write it down and air your grievances at the Phoestivus next year. :-P This was a super event. I really wasn't sure if it would be awesome or a total dud. You know how you go to a farmer's market only to find a disappointing 3 stands? This isn't that. There were a ton of vendors, and unique ones like crunchy flavored oatmeal and granolas, cool and interesting graphic tees, homemade peanut butters, lots of baked goods and jewelry, what must have been 10-20 food trucks. There were at least 6-10 rows of packed vendors (10-20 in each row), so there really were items of interest for anyone you might have with you. PLUS, the airing of grievances, the most befitting lackluster Phoestivus pole (touted as North America's largest) you could imagine, and a feats of strength area where you can challenge your opponent. It's just a lot of silly Seinfeldian fun that would still leave Frank Costanza bitching, but you would just roll your eyes and enjoy your shopping. My bonus was meeting very friendly CM Lindsay at the Yelp table, where, you guessed it- I picked up more Yelpsticks. Schwing for swag! So fun. Just go and plan on staying longer than we did cuz there is a lot to look at if you like to shop, and oh yeah- SHOP LOCAL! ;) read more

This event is one of my favorite events of the holidays. It's a fun place to shop and hang out with the local community during the Christmas season. Phoestivus features several tents of over a hundred local vendors selling hand-crafted gift items and locally grown, produced and prepared foods just outside Phoenix Public Market. They meet twice a year just before Christmas. Also on hand are several food trucks and fun activities for families. Some activities include the "Pheats of Strength" and the "Airing of Grievances". If any of this sounds familiar, there was an episode of Seinfeld that featured a festivus event (a parody and secular holiday celebrated on Dec 23 to combat the commercialism of Christmas). Phoestivus is the Phoenix version of that event and was created by Ken Clark of Get your PHX in 2009. I like walking around through the crowds of people on a cold evening with a coffee in hand. I also really enjoy seeing the creativity of some of the crafts. It's amazing some of the stuff people come up with. Phoenix Ale Brewery makes a pretty good beer called Phoestivus Ale that celebrates the event and is usually on hand to purchase. The Sound Bite truck has storytelling and a choir that sings Christmas carols and the Abominable Snow Monster (from Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer) walks around and greets people. You definitely can't leave without getting your photo with Hipster Santa. Phoestivus is free to attend and draws a bigger crowd every year. read more

I came ready to air my grievances and once I was there I forgot I had any! So many doo-dads, crafty creations, sweet temptations and FOOD TRUCKS!! From t-shirts and poster with facetious sayings like "I'm a baby duck. You, YOU, are nothing!" and "When I look in the mirror I see a unicorn. A bad ass unicorn."..to shirts made of hemp and necklaces with photos hanging on a sari necklace! Then sweet treats like whoopie pies packaged in gorgeous bows and ties what could very easily be found at Tiffany and Co! Why not buy yourself a gift and unwrap a tamale? Doctor Hummus is there too...don't pass him by! Live music and picture booths and lavosh and cookies and pies and paletas and...I could go on for days! The bff and I had a great time and all the other fun loving people there were just that. We struck up conversations at every booth and left smiling! Love the airing of the grievances. And the dozen food trucks too. Beer garden doesn't hurt either. It is basically just a more festive version of the Saturday market done at night with more food and drinking. But that's not a bad thing :-) btw, yes Short Leash Dog is terrific, but is it 2 dozen people in line terrific when there's a bunch of other great food trucks with no lines right next to it? I especially love Aji Mobile's El Gaucho sandwich with chimichurri. read more

Yay, Phoestivus! I made it for the second week, and from what I hear, it was notably more crowded. I didn't end up eating - the lines to the food trucks were all pretty long. However - did I power shop! Lots of gifts for friends - and I splurged on me, too! - A gluten free biscuit kit from Rise - A BUNCH (15!) fantastic chocolate bars from Stone Grindz - Several bracelets from Lotus and Lava - Unfiltered raw local honey from Sun Valley Bees - Spicy pickled asparagus and red bell peppers from Pickled Perfection - An earring and necklace set from Michael William Mosaic Jewelry - An air plant in a a blue T-rex! (damn - forgot to jot down the name of the plant vendor!) Free gift wrapping from Yelp and the awesome Rachael! (There was no tip jar, so I gave her one of the chocolate bars from Stone Grindz. She's so worth it!) Had the crowds been a bit more manageable for me, I would have been there longer and likely bought more. My wallet is grateful that didn't happen! Great music, festive atmosphere, and tons of local businesses all in one place. Awesome! read more

We had a lot of fun, tips for next year, spread out a bit, way to tight walking down aisles with the amount of people was unacceptable. Food trucks were nice but more then 3-4 tables would of helped and more staff helping police the trash would of been nice (damn slobs don't know how to pickup after their self) read more

This was the first year I was able to make it to Phoestivus and I had a great evening! It's a good problem that it looks like they are getting too big for the space with all of the vendors and people they had when I went. I met up with a friend and we first had dinner from Pizza People, which I really liked. Afterwards we walked around and I ended up picking up a couple of items for gifts and we ended the night with a treat from Torched Goodness. I also love that I got to see the Phoenix Public Market is back open as a cafe - I'll have to try it out! read more

What an awesome event! So many local artists and vendors... Its like the weekly farmer's market on holiday steroids. I bought sugar scrubs from Slather, jewelry from multiple vendors including one who acid washes copper to turn it an awesome turquoise color , and some pottery from a hippy couple based out of Ajo, AZ. There were food vendors with fresh produce, baked goods, popcorn, chocolate (Nutwhats and Stone Ground are amazing), granola, oats, spices, jams and jellies... You name it, you'll find it local at Phoestivus. You will also find a multitude of food trucks serving up some delicious fare. I did not partake in the beer booth, but if you do you'll need to stand in a long line for a 21+ bracelet and then in another line for beer. So if you're partner is the shopaholic and you need a beer to cope, Phoestivus has provided that for you. =) Yelp was there offering to wrap if you purchased something as a gift too! read more
