12. Pho Brisket
Jillian S.

This was my first time here and I really enjoyed it! The Thai tea was my absolute favorite. It was so good and creamy and not too sweet. Additionally, the servers were very friendly and attentive, and the pho was super tasty. I only wish there had been more beef -- the portion of meat was a bit on the lighter side. Overall, I think this is going to become one of my new favorite spots!

I ordered the Bahn Mi #1 and #3. The bread was stale and dry. The meat and was very minimal. For the price I would get a decent sandwich elsewhere. The pork did not taste like anything good and was rubbery.

Nice atmosphere. The soup was a bit salty. But over all it was good. I would definitely come back here to try different items from the menu. They provide fast friendly service.

If you're looking for high-quality meat in your bowl of pho, look no further! This place has the best meat for pho that I've found. We've been eating here since last year, and we've never been disappointed. The quality of the meat is excellent, and the quantity of noodles or vermicelli is generous for the price! I can't speak for the other dishes, as I always stick to their pho.

This spot is like casual casual. It's a sit down, order ur food, and dip kind of restaurant. For one, it's small inside. Second there isn't any music playing so ur kinda just there taking in white noise and think to ur self. U can pay upfront or one of the workers will go to u. So this place isn't ideal if ur looking for something romantic or "fine dining" or fancy kind of vibe. Nothing wrong that. It's like a cute shop or a picnic which I love. Ur just there chilling and eating ur food. The workers are nice and super attentive too. U can tell they mean well and want to make every customer happy which is so heartwarming for me. These dudes are working hard and just trying to earn a living which I respect. Food here tastes good and if u like Pho, u shouldn't be disappointed

I haven't been here for over 4 years so decided to do take out since they have a very small dining area and it's 6 of us. I ordered the Pho brisket and ribeye, pork and egg roll vermicelli, and shrimp spring rolls. Everything was good just not how I remembered it. Maybe it was an off day? Might give them another try?

Rare steak pho... So delicious.

Unfortunately, it seems like they may have changed ownership or management and the dine-in experience is not quite the same. I came in about 7:30 on a Friday. Their website and Yelp page says they're open until 11PM on Friday, but this is not the case. The waitress rushed me to order and pay immediately at the counter. After I sat down, she was turning people away or making them order to go. They should definitely update their posted hours. The food came out extremely fast and was good, but the noodle portion seemed much smaller than it used to be and the rare steak seemed different. The table next to me commented on this as well. They thought maybe it was brisket instead of rare steak but neither of us wanted to say anything as we felt pretty rushed to finish up before 8 as the waitress kept saying they close at 8. Also, I noticed the windows/glass doors were very dirty and smudged, a small detail, but it just seemed like the attention to detail wasn't there like it used to be. Maybe this experience was a fluke? This has always been my favorite Pho spot in the area, so I'll give it another try.

My husband and I are new to town. After an exhausting day unpacking and cleaning we did not feel like dining in. We drove around trying to find something to eat and take away.We came upon this spot tucked inside a strip mall. Menu has just the right amount of choices though I would have liked some spare ribs! We ordered combination pho and combination banh mi and combination fried rice- all deliciously prepared. My husband enjoyed the fresh flavors and I devoured my sandwich. Tomas, the manager was very kind and helpful taking our order. We checked in for the free caramel flan but they were sold out! Will be back to try some other dishes soon.

Menu

This is our second visit to PhoPCH. Have to admit, their pho tai was disappointing this time around. The volume was what other places would consider small and their steak was not very good. The beef was precooked and was very tough and thick with lots of fat on it. Usually it's thinly sliced and raw for the broth to cook it. Also they only had three slices of beef. For $14.75 it wasn't worth it. Their service is still good with him always greeting you and asking if there's anything else you'd need. Be aware that the restaurant is very small with limited seats. Not sure if I'd go back again next time. Plenty of pho places to try with better meat.

11. Pho Ribeye
Ross W.

Ribeye pho was really good but the inside is really small and a little hot so we sat at the one table outside right next to the parking lot where there's a decent amount of parking. The food came out pretty quickly and the service was good. The spicy sauce made it pretty hot which I liked!

How is the pho broth?

The pho broth is the best in town. They make it fresh daily and is slow cooked for long hours to offer all the health benefits. Honestly the best authentic Vietnamese bone broth full of flavor.

Do they use MSG?

YES

Saigon Dish is the first restaurant I've found near LA that prepares Bo Kho that way. My dramatic self stopped the employee to tell him how long it's been since I've had a Bo Kho that reminded me of home. Although it was sweeter than what I'm used to, it was still delicious. I was lucky enough to come in on a Saturday when the Banh Xeo was available. The crepe was light and crispy (now this dish I'm actually used to being a bit sweeter) but the nuoc mam really balanced everything out. I contemplated taking a container of the fish sauce home but I know what happens if that spills in your car. I also appreciated that the staff had no problem blanching the bean sprouts upon request just the way I like them. My husband ordered the grilled pork chop with rice, and they were happy to swap out the shredded pork for a fried egg. We also shared an order of shrimp cakes to start. The food came out quickly, service was prompt, and overall it was a great experience. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes on the menu.

Parking for a Sunday evening was easy, we parked around the block and had reservations for 7:15pm. The name of our server is slipping my mind but the host and server all the way to the food runners were amazing! The atmosphere was so cute and romantic. Being part Vietnamese and completely vegetarian I was very excited to check this location out, I've not been to the El Segundo one either. Our server asked if we had any allergies, etc and I told her no allergies but I am a vegetarian and do not like mushrooms. She was so sweet to go through the whole menu with me and let me know what could be modified. As a first time customer I was thrilled that she did that. I can't recall the cocktails I ordered but it was a total of 3, one was a Pina coloada rendition they had, which was absolutely delicious! My company ordered the hot Saigon drink twice! For my 2nd round, I got the Kennedy, and the final I got the drink with the butterfly in it!! For food we ordered the vegan spring rolls and warm milk rolls for starters. I loved both but my favorite were the warm spring rolls!! It came with a butter honey that was super indulgent. The vegan spring rolls came with a peanut sauce (MUST) but I felt like they were a bit small. Great presentation though. For our entrees, I got the broken bowl with crispy tofu, no pickled daikon. I asked our server if the kitchen had fresh Thai chili peppers, if they did if I could have a handful chopped up into my bowl and she said they definitely do have thai chili's they could cut up for me. Little Sister having fresh Thai chili alone is like 10 stars to me and I hope they keep this option available for us spice lovers. My company ordered the Coco Pork with no modifications and he said it was great! There was this vegan 6 hour marinade my broken bowl came with that was absolutely delicious. I didn't get any pictures sadly but I definitely plan on coming back here because everything was phenomenal!

When we got there, there are uncles chilling in the back parking lot, enjoying their coffee, cigarettes, and friendship, talking about who knows what.. The meat cuts were cooked perfectly. Everything was right! The banh mi dac biet came with all the cold cuts. It was delicious! The pate (liver wurst) and all the meats were great. The cha (pork cake sliced) in which some people posted pictured thinking nasty stuff like mold.. no it's not! It's whole black pepper corns that are sliced! Just take a good look! I noticed it right away. It was a great sandwich, great bread, great meats, great ratio! The eggrolls are awesome too! Good ratio, good dipping sauce. Only thing that could have made this entire meal better, some mint with those eggrolls. The whole meal was great and super delicious, and they open super early compared to all other places. Awesome! As soon as we entered we saw a sign saying you had to pay before being seated. Red flag!! Paying before you even had a taste of the food rang alarms in my head. Asking for a tip before service has even been rendered is the most ridiculous thing ever. Alot of places do this and it needs to be changed. Tip after services have been rendered. The workers here at least the 4 that I saw were all extremely young. They looked like they all belong in high school. They were very slow in anything they did. During my whole time here I the resturant the phone kept going off and they ignored it quite a few times. The inside of the resturant nice and clean, no complaints from me. My wife used their bathroom but the door did not lock so I had to stand outside which is annoying and not suitable for any ladies wanting to use the restroom. The food took quite a long time to come out. We sat down for awhile before the appetizers came out. 2 of us got the pho lunch special and it comes with a fried veggie eggroll. It took 15 minutes just to get 2 veggie spring rolls which were fresh and hot. When taking a bite out of them the inside was just mushy veggies and tasted like they were soaked in soy sauce. Then the spring rolls came out and they looked ok. After tasting they were decent. My only complaint about them is there wasn't enough peanut sauce, just a little dish not enough for all of our rolls. My wife ordered the combination fried rice. It came and it looked nice and hot. Upon tasting it for myself it tasted extremely salty. The proteins in it (Chinese sausage, shrimp, chicken) were almost inedible with the exception of the Chinese sausage. The shrimp was extremely over cooked and the chicken was cut thin and wide, like jerky and was just as dry as jerky. My FIL and I ordered the combination pho. The pho was extremely lackluster and was missing some components commonly in combo pho (pho dac biet) it was missing tendon, flank and meatballs (sometimes not always in pho dac biet) The meat to noodle ratio is extremely terrible, had at least 8 bites of noodles left and no more meat. The broth was so bland no flavor at all except for the over abundance of sweetness from the sugar. Being part vietnamese myself I love alot of pho whether its super delicious or just ok. This pho is not even in the "just ok" realm its terrible, its a disgrace to pho everywhere. Even if you are the type to put Hoison/Sriracha in the broth it will not save it. FIL says this place uses to be good but I guess things have changed since his last visit all those years ago. You could pick almost any other pho restaurant and I am 99.99% sure it would be better than here. If you value your time, money, and taste buds please stay clear of this place by any means necessary.
