Walked by many times since it opened and was always curious! These days I try to support local restaurants, so when I walked by again I decided to go in. Ordered #11, tendon and rare beef, and it was yummy. Hit the spot. Service was quick, friendly, attentive. Perfect. Took one star off because the benches (last row of seating) are too high (or tables too low) it's a bit awkward to eat from. Also the decor is a bit grundge and overwhelmingly pink. Doesn't fit the Yaletown vibe. I'd probably do takeout next time. I see a lot of people were doing that. read more

The wonderful aroma of lemon grass just draws you in. The food is delicious and the staff is incredibly nice. Ordered the rare beef and beef ball satay rice noodle pho in the Thai chilli spice level with a side of the pork egg roll and a prawn salad roll. The broth flavour was incredible and the egg rolls have us coming back for more. Don't forget to order a side of their house made chilli oil. You have to try their incredible chilli oil! read more

We've enjoyed soup noodles twice there Really is a nice descent Vietnamese restaurant At the first time, we was running some errands nearby and just ran into this restaurant for convenience, but actually liked it there. Their rare beef soup noodles tasted great, and fried vegetables with rice was fresh and delicious too. Two days later, we took bus to it deliberately just for their soup noodles. This time we ordered brisket soup noodles and satay flavor noodles, also really good To be honest I'm not Vietnamese but as an southeast Asian food lover I've always loved Vietnamese soup noodles. I've been to Vietnam once and enjoyed their authentic cuisine as my pleasure. If this restaurant doesn't serve the best Vietnamese cuisine, they definitely serves descent, great Vietnamese food that I would repeatedly go for. Pho Khanh Express is really close to where I live so of course I had to try this place out. I was hoping that I would really like this place but to tell the truth it's only ok. It's one of those restaurants that you would go to if you were really hungry and very lazy! The food is so so.... not great... I just think that it's kind of popular cuz it's relatively cheap. We got there around 3 pm and it was still relatively busy... The thing that really bothers me this place is that there is no real commitment from this place to be a good successful restaurant... 1Look at what's happening with the bathroom... (see my pictures).. They have paper towel so customers can wipe their wet hands but instead of installing the paper towel in the dispenser the restaurant staff just leave the paper towel on the counter... Come on! Do more... show some commitment for your job! Also this place uses an array of materials which other restaurants that were in this location used ... The decor is essentially the same as the last afternoon tea place (Le Cassis Patisserie Cooking School) that was in the location before this restaurant. They also use sandwich boards that have Element Diner on them... Geez that place was in this location about 2 years ago.. The wrap on the chopsticks have another Vietnamese restaurant name on it... and it goes on... I just think the commitment to really be a original restaurant is not there... this place is committed to saving money and using whatever they can get their hands on ... or whatever is cheap... Broth was too sweet for my personal liking. The food price is a bit steep for the portion. We had a meat dietary restriction and opted for a vege one which they got wrong. Instead of being upfront about it, they up charged us for a vegetable spring roll which is cheaper on the menu and did not make sense to us. Good to get in a jiffy. Ambiance is standard. read more

This is our go-to place after working late for a quick meal. Their service is quick, food is delicious with good portion size, and staff is attentive. This is not your high end restaurant at Yaletown, but it's really good and I wish there are more places like this around town. If you are sick of overpriced and pretentious food around Yaletown, you won't find it here. The prices are very reasonable, despite the recent price increase which I can tell has been used to improve the ingredients. The decor is a bit odd, but I rather the owner put money into good food and service than spend hundreds of thousands of dollar on renovation - French decor for Vietnamese food sort of make sense, too. During my visit to Vancouver, I was hesitant to try this place since there were so many mixed reviews. I am glad I went in anyway! Very friendly people and quick service. I didn't wait more than 10 minutes for my to-go order. It was walking distance from our hotel so it was convenient too! This was one of the best Pho's I've ever eaten! Quality and quantity were on point. Broth was delicious on its own, but I paid an extra $1 for a full container of chili oil, and let me tell you, it was delicious! I love spicy food and the chili oil added the exact spice and extra flavor. Had prawns added in as well. Could have done without the cabbage, but I love that they added carrots to it! I also got one prawn spring roll to try and it was super fresh and the peanut sauce was delicious. This meal nailed my pregnancy craving and left me and baby very happy and full. This place is a 5 min walk from where I live and we usually come here when we are super lazy and don't want to travel far for our usual pho spots. Anyways, the first time the pho was ok, second time the pho was bland and the third time it was ok. The broths are always inconsistent. My fiancé also agrees with this. The second and third time I found their cups, tables and sauce dishes still dirty. (Probably not the best during this pandemic) I read another customers review and said the restaurant could do a little more and I agree. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and yet the chairs hadn't been pushed in which to me means they haven't cleaned the table tops. Holy cow this is the best pho I've ever had and I've been to Vietnam. The spring rolls and lemongrass chicken skewers were also excellent. I had the rare beef and tendon pho and it had perfectly soft tendon and tasty meat. The chili oil, as other reviewers have mentioned, is special. I think it's fermented. Super good. A group of 8 of us stopped in for quick meal before a hockey game. We each ordered different Pho soups and were all pleasantly surprised at the authentic and flavorful broth. It's like ordering clam chowder and just getting canned clams from a can. Observed their takeout service. Customer would come in, place order, be offered tea while they wait, and then be asked what they're waiting for. Three of four takeout clients. Poor coordination between the staff. amazing!! It was so cute on the inside and super affordable. I got the veggie noodle soup and it was amazing, best soup i've had in a while. Lots of vegetarian options, the complimentary tea was so good. HUGE portion, i didn't even finish the soup it was so filling. The owner was amazing and personally talked to us multiple times. A typical Pho Ga must have about 150-250 grams of chicken meat in it. This restaurant puts only 15 grams of chicken meat in the Pho. They want to save money and make more money out of their customer's pockets. read more
