For my football reference, I'm a Cowboys fan so I do not like the Eagles but I AM a fan of a no-frills classic Philly cheesesteak, and here they don't disappoint. The atmosphere is simple and casual, with Philly sports memorabilia adorning the walls, making it feel like a true East Coast neighborhood spot. The star of the menu is the cheesesteak. The sandwiches are made with thinly sliced steak, grilled onions, and melted cheese, all packed into an Amoroso roll imported from Philadelphia, which gives the sandwich its signature touch. The Philly's Best Cheesesteak was simply amazing. The service was professional and helpful. The decor and ambiance is a buzz. People are phone walk-in and internet ordering. For a good reason. Almost purchased one to go. Next time. Delicious and hit the spot. Fresh bell peppers onions and mushrooms. Steak chopped just how ai like it thin but plenty. Will surely be back to try their other options.

A friend who works nearby brags and brags on this restaurant. She spoke so well about it yesterday that I decided to have lunch with her today. I feel totally bummed that I forgot the employee's name that took out order. I got it but couldn't do the review right away and lost it. Our visit was 8/8/25 around 2:00 if that helps. I appreciate the fact that he was so patient and accommodating. It was my first time there so my tastebuds didnt know what to expect. I tried the Philly's Best buy with chicken and their fries. I have to admit "love at first bite". The bread was toasty yet soft. The meat was fluffy but firm enough for the sandwich and the cheese wasn't overwhelming. With that the sandwich was satisfying but not too heavy and loaded down. The fries was fresh. The looked and taste like they were cut from potatoes and fried in fresh grease. Normally after eating a meal like that I feel sluggish and weighed down. Not with this one. Their sandwich was the best and I look forward to another visit. I also noticed that they provide the perfect snack for a sweet tooth. Snacks by tastykakes. I appreciate the fact that they have a self ordering kiosk. That perfect for long lines. They have android and apple pay as well. Awesome!!! Their dining area is adorable with what looked like stadium seats. The wall decor was so photo friendly. There's was plenty of parking.

I love Philly cheesesteaks and this place makes a mean cheesesteak. They're so good that I want to order 2 of them and eat them. I like how they have variety with their cheesesteaks. Was the absolute worst Philly I ever touched to my tongue. Meat was grissly, chese was almost non existant. You want a really great Philly, drive to Ontario and have one at Burger Town USA. Or drive to Redlands and have one at Bravo Burger. You're talkin' Philly Cheesesteak!!! read more

Being raised from outside of Philly, this place had a lot to live up to. Did they deliver?! YESSS!!! The fact that I read they got the bread delivered from Amoroso's was a plus!!! AND THEY HAVE TASTYKAKES!!!! #winning Only reason why I rated them 4 stars was just the lack of Philly flair this place is missing. I like this place mainly because of the design and the way it may make a New Yorker feel at home. I've been there many times and they always seem very short staff, regardless if there's 4 or 12 ppl waiting for food the wait seems a little bit to long for a sandwich. read more

Love it, love it, love it!! We eat here at least 1-2 times a month on our saturday run-errands day. Great sandwiches and love the fries!! It's also great to watch TV too!! The cheese steak is great, but if you want to lower the fat intake, try the chicken hoagie minus the cheese. Really good!! read more

I would consider this a fast food place, although there is no drive through. I got a delicious cheesesteak sandwich that had Frank's hot sauce on it and I was not disappointed! The service was good as well. The only cons I have, which aren't anything horrible at all, is that the kitchen is right near the tables so it was a little noisy and they have stadium seats around a normal cafe table which was a little uncomfortable but those two things should definitely not keep you from trying this place out! read more

1st time here. Got Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich which was so, so. What turned me off was their Onion Rings, they had very thin sliced onion inside ( you wouldn't have known there was any inside if you didn't look) and the batter they were made with was gross. The Taste and texture made me think of Van de Kamp's battered fish from the grocery store. read more

I do like their food as I've been there before, but their customer service is severely lacking. I ordered to dine in, and the manager was so eager to close he asked me to move from where I was sitting to a more congested area, although there were already people sitting in that area. As if the 20 minutes it would take me to eat would delay their closing efforts. Good food, but needs a new night manager, or maybe that is the owner. read more

I eat at Philly's Best all the time, but had never been to this location before. This location was a disappointment. I went on Football Sunday and they were not showing the Eagles game or any other football game. They were showing soccer instead. The man at the counter asked me if I wanted mustard on my hoagie. This is usually a sign to leave, but I still ordered. The bread did not taste like it was a real amoroso roll and the sandwich was blah. The man at the counter also overcharged me for my sandwich and I had to bring this to his attention. I will not be returning to this location. I guess Philly's Best does not care who they franchise to anymore. read more

Wanted to grab a bite and was in the area so I stopped by for their recommended Pizza Fries. They will not serve them to-go the same way you eat them there. I asked if they can prepare it to-go the same way as if I was going to eat it there after seeing fries thrown in a paper bag and containers of sauce and cheese. The cashier said they charged "$1 more for the aluminum plate." I don't understand why they don't have to-go plates or serve the food the same way when ordered to dine in, I don't need an aluminum plate I just need it ready to eat. They ended up doing the right thing, at no hidden extra cost after seeing my point of view and the $1 went to the tip jar. I think it's absurd and sneaky to the customer when we expect it "ready to eat" not a do it yourself. But if you pay ANOTHER fee we can prepare it for you so you can enjoy it as expected to begin with. So deceptive and actually unheard of in my experience. read more

this place has a good philly cheese steak. i was never a fan of philly cheese steak sandwiches until one day i decided to try this place. man o man the "philliys best" sandwich is real good. the meat tastes real good and all the cheese with onions. i took my girlfriend here and she enjoys the phillys best aswell. the older middle eastern man is nice but a bit hard to understand. ill be eating this more often :) read more

Philly's Best is a unique Philadelphia themed restaurant that serves authentic Philly Cheese-steaks and Hoagies. We offer domestic beer as well as Rolling Rock beer which comes from Philadelphia to enhance our customer's dinning experience.

History

Established in 1992.

The Philly's Best story began in the early 1980’s when native Philadelphian, Bob Levey, was stationed in San Diego, California while serving in the Navy. Bob longed for some of his hometown favorites, especially a real Philly cheesesteak. Being 3,000 miles away from home is one thing, but not being able to get an authentic Philly cheesesteak is another thing completely! After his honorable discharge, Bob went back to Philadelphia and "left no roll unturned" in his quest to bring the authentic taste of his beloved cheesesteak to Southern California. In 1992, Bob and his wife, Andrea, also a native Philadelphian, opened their first Philly's Best Cheesesteak & Hoagie shop in Fountain Valley. Starting with that first store in Fountain Valley, Philly's Best has grown to include over 20 locations throughout Southern California. Philly's Best Cheesesteaks continues to set the standard for authentic Philly cheesesteaks, and we have the awards to prove it.

Also, some of the tables were dirty. Had to clean ours with a napkin. Ambiance: 6/10 The interior design was pretty nice. It did feel quite empty inside. The arrangement of the tables is pretty sporadic. They could definitely convert the tables into booths with all the space they got, but it seems like they don't get a lot of foot traffic. Parking lot was quite small, but my friends and I had no issues finding a spot. TDLR: Sandwiches aren't worth the price. If you don't care about prices, have at it. I wouldn't come back here purely because our sandwiches took 30+ minutes to come out as dine-in customers. Parking lot is small but found no problem finding a spot.

Stopped by yesterday in the rain, after dropping my mom off at Kaiser. I've been eating Phillies Best since i discovered them in the city of Irvine back in the 90s when i worked at New Century Mortgage. Best damn sandwich i ever had! Forward 20 years, and last night, was the worst sandwich i ever had. Ordered a Phillies Best with extra provolone and i could barely even taste the mushrooms and sweet peppers, no marinara sauce was offered, burnt onion rings, bugs/gnats were flying around, broken mens bathroom, stinky, fan running behind me, playing re-runs of Dodgers game on the TV? .... and not to mention almost $30 damn dollars for a phillies best, onion rings and regular drink. i will never be back. Wanted to try this place but ill stick with steak Sandos in ktown. Reading about all these anti Asian disrespect is disappointing considering what Asian elders and women have gone thru these past few years and even lost their lives. This place should change their staff immediately and train social awareness to the people working and serving food. I will not go to this establishment nor recommend to other people. read more

This is my most favorite steak sandwiches place. I love the philly's best sandwich, tasty, fulfilling, i have shared with my friend the bbq chicken too which was nice. Always get a side of steak fries if you are sharing with somebody it is so delicious. The service is nice and very good price for the quantity and quality of food. Excellent eating experience.. from walking in the door and being greeted by employee, seated and drink order taken, was maybe 5 minutes. Meal was served hot and excellent taste.
