We were recommended to this law firm by a long term family relationship with another law firm out…read moreof town in order to deal with a custody issue. Since the beginning of this ordeal I have had an increasing number of problems with how this business is run and the quality of service I have received. 1. Complete lack of communication. We have talked to our actual attorney ONE time in nearly a year since we paid our retainer and that one time was the initial meeting. Ever since we have only dealt with the secretary, and billing. To make this issue worse, we went 5 months at one point without any communication at all. Not an email, not a phone call, nothing, and after being told that things would move forward after a 30 day deadline that WE met, but the opposition did not. 2. Unorganized and confusing billing. After paying our initial 1500$ retainer, we were immediately met with additional costs for filing fee's, for this and for that, all of which we paid up front, and none of which did we ever receive receipts or invoices. In addition to that, our retainer was being charged hourly for activity that we were never notified of, but only after it was spent were we billed for the accumulating debt. When asked for an invoice to explain the activity, since mentioned above there was ZERO communication, the invoice we first received had random dates, charges that we had already paid for up front, the math wasn't adding up, and some charges were even completely missing! It took 3 separate requests to FINALLY get a complete and correct invoice, and by this time the firm was demanding 1000$ payment in full under threat of dropping the case, and blamed us for not keeping up with the billing despite the constant errors and 5 months of no follow up. 3. EXTREMELY rude secretary. I have NEVER done business with a group of "professionals" where I had already spent THOUSANDS of dollars, where I was harassed and insulted this badly. We will NEVER come back, and I will let everyone in my circle of communication know how badly we were treated by these people.
