Finally was able to grab a chicken stick. 11am is the time to come here. So much to choose from and it's hot n fresh! I enjoyed the chargrilled taste of the chicken. There was a lot more staff on site so it was a very speedy process to pick what I want and check out. The reason why I'm leaving this at three Stars is because none of the workers are friendly or welcoming. You would think at least one of them would be. Every time I ask What something is or what it's comprised of I get a stare from them that makes me feel like I'm dumb for asking! I am not Filipino so yes, I do have questions about dishes served because I am curious and inquisitive lol I think the pricing is a little high here. I got a piece of pork belly which wasn't that big and weighed about a pound and they charged me $21 for it. It's my first time here and it was OK. The customer service was good but th edits was OK. I had the curry chicken and it was mostly bone, not enough meat. The menudo was sweet and a lot of peppercorns. The ukoy was most not crispy. I wish I cans say I enjoyed my food but I didn't. I might come back and try it one more time. read more

It can be difficult to find Filipino food in Fresno, but PhilHouse really kills the cravings for me. They are situated as a build-a-plate place, with all their dishes out in pans for you to choose from. I typically go with my mom because she likes to have tortang talong, and I like their chicken barbecue skewers. The food is good and tastes like home - I wouldn't say it's the best, but it definitely tastes like your more typical, authentic Filipino food. The only gripe I had was that my mom doesn't eat pork, but the pancit bihon already has it mixed in - it would be nice to be able to add meat to the pancit. The workers who serve you are typically very helpful, though. They are quick and very nice. The seating area itself is alright, but nothing special and sometimes dirty (I'm guessing they don't have enough staff to be constantly cleaning though, obviously). It's very food-court style. Either way, the portions are decent, the prices are pretty good for how much food you get, and it's nice to sometimes just kill those childhood cravings and shop around after or before a meal. read more

End of day looks so sad barely filled and looking lifeless so my rating would be lower at that time of day also so GO EARLY! I was just sad that the dessert turon is never made early. So that is prepared right at lunch hour NOON! If it's Smoky inside from the grilled meats and fish that means it's being freshly cooked by the hustle and bustle of Filipino employees that are ready to serve to the lunch hour frenzy of hungry customers. The bbq sticks are really big so one is sufficient for one person. I enjoy the fried chicharron intestine, smelt and chicken skin served with their house vinegar sauce. For some reason, I been craving Filipino food these days! I was already in the grocery store (Island Pacific) and this little food court was inside. I didn't know what to order at first cus it was a bunch of dishes I didn't know of. I only kno the usual pancit, adobo and lumpia. The young man behind the counter was a HUGE help! We went down the line (luckily it wasn't busy) and I asked him what was what. I wanted to know what kind of protein and if the dish was on the sweeter side cus I didn't really like sweet savory dishes that much. I preferred spicy savory or even a lil sour. I ended up with the two item combo. I did pancit as the base. And I decided on chicken pastel & bisco express (something like that). I was gonna get a third item cus my son likes squid and they had grilled squid. But once I got back to the squid I seen a fly hovering over that station. And there was foil there tryna cover up the food but it didn't work cus once I pointed and was like I want that squid, the fuckin fly decided to land on it!! And now I'm thinkin nope nvm cus idk if it been landed on it earlier and hatched eggs, I dont fuckin know!! But I wasn't gonna grab shit that had a fly land on it. So we both got stuck and looked at each other and he said sorry and shoo'd it away! I told him nvm on that. I really think they should have covers for all the food and if not, at least have fans or something to keep flies away. I get that flies be coming in the stores or whatever but I'm sure there are ways to prevent it like how other stores have. I just hope a fly never landed on any of the food I already picked and paid for. Took it to go, tried both dishes and they were both good. A little on the oily side but the meats were nice and tender. The pancit wasn't the best I had. I ended up reheating and remarinating it cus it lacked flavor. Located inside Island Pacific Seafood Market is Philhouse. They served hot food your option to eat it there or have it take out service. I ordered the combo #3 which comes with choices of meat, rice or pancit. I also got the Turon which is so sweet and delicious for dessert. The market place and the restaurant was clean with visible signs all around placed perfectly. I highly suggest you make a visit to Philhouse on N First Street for your Filipino cuisine. Honestly, Filipino food needs to improve in the Fresno area. This place doesn't have good quality Filipino food. In other places in California, you will find great Filipino food, such as places like Carson, CA and the Bay Area. The Filipino food in those places are amazing. At Phil House, it just doesn't feel like the food was made with passion. It doesn't pack the same kind of flavor. The barbeque sticks are whatever. They are kind of dry and lack sweetness. The only thing I can actually recommend from Phil House is the Caldereta. That is actually good. I don't mind eating that with rice. Their pancit is good too. But really, those are the only two things that I can recommend. You can go ahead and enjoy the good stuff they have in the Island Pacific Supermarket though, where Phil House is actually physically located in.. In there, they have good smelt, Filipino Ice Cream, desserts, bread, noodles, and more. You go there for Island Pacific, not Phil House. So yeah. read more

I catered here for my daughters 1st Birthday. I ordered in person about 2.5weeks before her event. I ordered the salo-salo package which comes with 5 trays and you can choose from a variety of dishes each with a different type of protein (Beef, chicken, veggie, pork and pancit or lumpia Shanghai). The order: Beef Stiek Chicken afritada Pinakbet (veggie) Pork adobo 100pc of lumpia shanghai I would have to say everything was delicious. The veggies and meat and the flavors were so good. Only complaint was the chicken afritada had little bits of bones through the dish which made it a little difficult to throughly enjoy without having to stop in the middle of eating and the adobo was a bit on the sweet side. The lady that took my order was really nice and she gave me clear instructions and gave me the option to pay at the time I ordered or during pick up. I had my dad pick up the food the day of and he didn't have any issues. When I saw the trays they looked small but it was packed. There was so much food left over even after we had our guests pack food to-go. Overall I had a great experience. I will definitely be ordering from them again when I host another party. read more

9/30/23 Getting lunch. Two Chicken BBQ combos ordered by calling . It comes with Pancit & Lumpia. The worker was kind & said it would be ready shortly. I went in to get it. Its inside a Mart. They were busy! Music playing and they have tables where you can sit if you want. I told the worker after waiting in line and he checked on it. One was really rude, ignored me and got to another customer. Wow! Not right! Really disappointing & unexpected. They finally figured out my order after talking to a 3rd worker to get it. Lunchtime! It's a lot of food! Sunday lunch too! The BBQ chicken was tender & delicious! Great BBQ sauce too! Tasty Lumpia with sauce! Great Pancit too! Mother said the BBQ chicken was "off the hook!" Lol! Philhouse never disappoints! I always get the pork Sisig, some kind of soup (this time it was the beef Nilaga) and beef caldareta. I opted to get half pancit and half rice and was hooked up with the pancit. Pancit was nice and flavorful and had fillers/toppings like fish ball, few pork pieces, and some veggies. The 3 item combo definitely comes with more than enough food for multiple meals. I usually pick this up and split it into meals for the week for work. Very close to authentic Filipino food that you would find in Southern California! They also cater too. I brought a tray of their pork Sisig to a Friendsgiving and paid about $60 after tax and my veggie lunpias. Everyone loved that dish. I stopped by here since I was in the area. I've had their food at parties but never have gotten food from their actual restaurant. It's located inside of Island Pacific grocery store. There was plenty of parking so it wasn't difficult to find a spot. When you enter the grocery store the restaurant is located to the left. There's some seating inside but they were all taken up. The set up is like a fast-casual style. You stand in line and as you walk through you tell them what combo or foods you want. There's a variety of sizes you can order. I told the woman it was my first time there and she was very kind and patient with showing me different sizes to choose from and what the dishes were. There's so many different options to choose from so I just chose what I knew. I got the pancit bihon, chicken afritada, and pinakbet. For dessert I ordered the bilo bilo. Everything so delicious. The only thing that threw me off was the purple flour dough balls in the bilo bilo. It has this really weird grainy texture. My daughter said it was good and it didn't taste anything grainy. So who knows maybe it's just me and my texture issues. But I'd like to go back and try their grilled fish and bbq because it looked really good. read more

I love Filipino food and whenever my mom and I aren't on good terms, I come here. I love how nicely the chicken is cooked for the chicken adobo and I love how the other meats are cooked too! They don't have the same food everyday but it's like a nice surprise to see what they've got. I don't know if it's because I'm hungry right now but oh man the breakfast they have is really good too! I'm pretty split. I do like coming here for the dinuguan but our chicken adobo just had way too many bones and cartilage for my liking. The turons are deliciously decadent with the perfect crisp and a thick sweet layer of caramelized sugar. I appreciate it being located inside Island Pacific as a one stop shop and for the most part staff is friendly. If you know what you want on busy days, then you can get through the line very quickly. It is definitely up there in price in my opinion but this is one of the only places we go for family portion filipino food and will likely come back in the future.
