This was the first time we attended the Philfest. It cost $5 for parking, $7 each person to enter. The proceed is to benefit the Philippine Cultural Center. Besides the wonderful dancing and singing on the stage, the most impressive was the delicious food. All the food vendors put out their best. We spend totally $40 on food coupon. We had fried fish, BBQ pork, grill chicken, grill shrimps, fish ball on stick, shrimp pan cake, three layer cake, halo halo and the other corn dessert drink. They were all so delicious. The pricing there were much better than you normally pay at a regular Filipino restaurant. Although some of the vendors seemed under staff so the services were very slow. I have been waiting on the line for 20 minutes twice. Because the food turned out so delicious it was worth the wait. The program on the stage was ongoing. The MC did a good job entertaining the crowd -he asked who's the oldest participant( 94 was the winner) or the longest wedding anniversary and gave away prizes. The Philippine Performing Arts company performed many impressive folk dance numbers. With their beautiful costumes and the traditional Filipino choreography and music, the dance were quite refreshing and splendid. Proud to recognized couple Yelp members in the dance troop. They did a good job dancing. The bamboo ensemble was unique and they presented couple beautiful music. A lot of family came out together to enjoy the good food and good time. They probably agreed with me that Philfest was fun. read more
