I recently purchased an electric vehicle (EV) and was looking to get a home charger installed. Duke…read moreEnergy has an EV charger prep program to get reimbursed for preparing your home or garage with said charger. They will reimburse up to $1,133. After extensively asking Duke all the questions to get this reimbursement, I asked for a list of contractors they have worked with. They gave me a list of 5+ electric companies. Go Green was the 3rd one I called and the only one that answered. Right away, they showed me elevated service. I explained the situation to them and they offered a free consultation to come check out my garage and give me an estimate for the EV charger installation. The very next week, Richie, the technician, came out and met with my husband to check out the space. The first estimate was a little more than what we wanted to spend (with one expensive part being the cost of the surge protector). My husband asked if we could provide the surge protector would Go Green supply the labor for installation. Richie said they could do that and also that he will come up with 5 different customizations of estimates based on different services and promotions. Richie left and within a few hours, the estimates were in my email inbox. I ended up choosing one of the mid-level ones and signed the invoice ocking in the price. Go Green had to order some parts so installation happened a little over 2 weeks later. Richie was the technician for installation too. It took him and his partner a little over 2 hours to install the charger. The city also needed to approve the charger so Richie said Go Green would handle the communication with them so they could come out. I did put in a request with him for a certain day and the city was able to accommodate. Once I received all my documents (the proof of EV registration, my paid invoice, and the approved permit), I applied for Duke's EV charger prep program. I was rejected about a week-ish later for not having an itemized invoice up to their standards. I immediately called Go Green and told them what happened and within the hour, they emailed me a new invoice which I re-submitted to Duke. Two weeks later, Duke emailed me approval for the program and two weeks after that, I received my check in the mail. This is a long review, but I wanted to explain the full process of working with Go Green to get approved for the EV charger prep program. I cannot recommend them enough. They are efficient and professional. I am extremely happy with their work!

When our AC unit stopped cooling, we thoughtfully researched for a company with experience and excellent ratings. We chose Shamrock Heating and Air Inc., largely due to positive feedback comments and high customer service marks. Our experience has been far from positive. During the first service call the technician stated that the unit was only 5 to 10 years old and recommended upgrading Freon to newer type at a cost of $1k. Service was completed and the bill promptly pre-paid. Nearly 3 hours later, the AC unit again was failing. Calls to Shamrock only resulted in a response of "we can get to you after the weekend". Which caused our family to stay in hotels and with family due to record heat index. When another technician returned Monday, we were again informed that the unit was only 5-10 years old and in need of additional repairs at a cost of an additional $1.5k. Knowing that we were approaching the cost of for replacement, we declined the service. Here's the kicker though... Guided self examination of the original unit to order a new unit revealed the true age of 17+ years. This simple fact would have clearly prompted a replacement vs temporary repairs as recommended by Shamrock. Seemingly common knowledge would indicate that you simply do not put $1k-2.5k into a nearly 20 year old unit. A quick web search indicates the following on more than one (1) site: "Many homeowners decide to replace it after about 10-15 years for a new, more efficient model. In the long-run, replacing the system every 15-20 years (most systems' average life expectancy) is more economical in terms of maintenance fees and energy bills." Repeated calls to Shamrock's staff and owner about the false informed and poor service in order to request at least a partial refund have gone unanswered for nearly 6 weeks. We post this review in hopes another family will not endure a similar frustrating and expensive experience with Shamrock.

I was…read morevery clear on the phone when scheduling that I was looking for a quote of how much repair would cost. All that was wrong was that my trip lever drain needed replacing, and the men who arrived confirmed this. They asked to see the trip lever mechanism *I* had bought and attempted to install unsuccessfully, and then began to immediately work on installing the hardware I had purchased, BEFORE telling me it would cost over $200. So I was not given a quote for service, I was given an invoice. TO BE CLEAR, I do not blame the men who came to my home and did the fix. They were very respectful, prompt, and efficient, and they just work for the company; prices and policy decisions are not set by them. I'm also aware that their labor must be paid hourly, even if they just came and looked at the drain. I have no problem paying them for their time. What I do have a problem with is not being told the cost before repairs began, and being charged what absolutely accounts for more than the 1 hour of labor (including drive time) of two employees, and an unasked for installation of hardware I myself supplied. It felt dishonest about the intended services requested, and removed my opportunity to make a choice about whether to proceed; if I'd seen the number first, I would have paid the men for their time and then attempted again to install the trip lever by myself. Overall, I don't recommend this company for any simple fixes.
