The cosmetics department is closed but they do have a few basic ones if you need them. All products behind glass are unavailable during the night shift. There is a sign that explains mandatory baskets for customers between midnight and 06:00 am, they also the baby formula to a limit of 2. Gift cards are limited to 2 and must be cash only. Last but not least, there are no returns at night. The staff are very helpful with indicating where you can find things or they will actually show you where it is. There is no delivery service, but you can order from the apps if you're feeling under the weather and can't make it in person. For the actual pharmacy department, they are excellent best in-person service I have had. Also, take note that the pharmacist is located on the second floor.

It's difficult not to walk around the city without not running into one of their stores...this particular one on St Catherine is similar to others...large cosmetics section, with a good selection of men's grooming products...large drugstore aisles with shampoo, soaps, etc. Nice easy self checkout registers make the trip easy and quick.

The post office has superb customer service with virtually no wait. Their beauty section has excellent prices and high end products (I bought a very good quality diffuser here for $55 that retails $80). I love that it's under the radar and not in a very busy area so it's never too packed. Pharmaprix is 20% more expensive and Jean Coutu doesn't have the same quality. I also run across the street to grab some produce from the Atwater market after shopping here. Great for multi-taskers who love free downtown parking and good deals! Also: They often hand out $10 gift certificates if you spend over $60

I send out a lot of packages and I go to lots of places but never in my life have I left the same Place twice with my Package not sent because they don't know how !? Or they printed the sticker but can't scan it !?! I tried to give them another chance but now I'm done. Do not be fooled thinking they know what they are doing because they don't stay far away from this place !

She approached me with an unfriendly face and tone saying "Hello. You cannot open them." I said "Oh, sorry". Then she turned her back. It just does not feel right how she looked at me and her tone. Very unfriendly. A more professional and friendlier service would be to say "Sorry, Miss, you cannot actually open them." Instead of buying the one I chose, I decided not to and will not ever buy again at that branch in Saint Denis, Montreal. Nor will I want to visit any Jean Coutu branch anymore.

They are quick, professional, friendly, on the ball, and totally non-judgy. They are as cool with me as they are with the old folks in here with their twenty prescriptions. Aside from the pharmacy, I like the madames at the front cash. They remind me of the ladies who told me to unroll my skirt in high school - no nonsense, but sweet and ultimately kind of cool. Whatever, it's a jean coutu. And I'm a people lover, therefore stars! Stars for everyone!

Oh man, I just read Marie-Pier's review from 2011 for this Jean Coutu and for one, it made me miss…read moreher! And for 2, pretty much everything she says remains the same. This is a tiny Jean Coutu attached to the large Sud Ouest medical clinic. There is basically one wall of pharmacy stuff and the rest of what happens here is behind the counter. Because this is the pharmacy for the clinic it is super busy with tons of people leaving their doctor's appointments and coming straight here to get prescriptions filled. The staff here are incredibly warm and kind and full of laughter. They are delightfully non-pretentious as well, I saw them switch smoothly from French to English to Spanish, call everyone from the tattooed tank top guy to the tiny Japanese grandmother darling, and dig out books for the tiny kids to play with while their parents waited for their names to be called. There is so much bustle here that we waited a long time before asking if maybe my vitamins had gotten lost in the shuffle, and it turns out they were just sitting next to the cash the whole time. Glad I spoke up. Will check in sooner next time. Still a fan.

If you want knowledgeable staff, go to the one on Sherbrooke in Westmount (corner Grey). If you want groceries, stick to this one. This one has a better pharmacy and post office, but the women who work at the one in Westmount in cosmetics are all cosmeticians and makeup artists who have been in the business for years.
