And when it comes to snotty colds, whinging children or run down parents, that knowledge is just priceless. The Day-Night chemist is on Willoughby road, just as it narrows down to the one lane wind through the Crows Nest shopping/restaurant scene. They look mercifully well stocked, and walking in around 7:30pm on a Friday night, the staff were both bright and attentive. They're quick to lead you to your desired curative and on your way out there's a Darrel Lee stand if a spoonful of sugar is needed to help the medicine go down.

The reason the Crows Nest Day Night Chemist suits is their 7 days per week late night opening hours. The pharmacists as well as pharmacy assistance are really knowledgeable and helpful. The chemist has never been out of stock of my regular prescription medications. Secondly they also have a huge range of groovy chemist consumer items that in the past have saved me when forgetting Mothers Day or birthdays. Their bargain bin at the exit is a cool way to picking up that awesome pill box holder, branded toothpaste, wacky coloured socks, beanies and scarves. They also sell a delicious array of chocolate and some soft drinks including sport drinks. It's a veritable consumers pop culture smorgasbord of the weird and wonderful as well as providing you with the medications to keep you alive and friendly customer service that kicks arse of other similar establishments. They do not have an espresso machine which is great because I'm actually sick and tired of multiple businesses buying into the coffee trade. Reason being their coffee (in my experience) is amateurish leaving me bitter and twisted.

I always feel a bit too uncool to go into an Aesop store…read more But on the occasions where I throw caution to the wind and step inside, the staff are always very sweet and seem to have no inkling that I don't fit in. Aesop always smells so damn fresh and edgy. I really love their products, though mostly I've bought little parcels and sets of Aesop things for other people as gifts, and then I spend my time hinting to friends and family about how much I love Aesop products, hoping they'll get the hint. So far ... not a lot of luck, but someone gave me a travel kit once. The hair products weren't that super, but everything else was damn amazing. This is a great place to buy presents for people overseas, if you want to get something Australian that isn't tacky. The packaging is just as gorgeous as the scents ... Yes, it's pricy, but you walk away with a quality product.

There is a plethora of minerals and vitamins that our bodies thrive on from nature. Aesops range finds the best of it and bottles it up in the form of creams, lotions, face washes, shampoos and serums. I have tried many items from their range and I must say the people who work in their store have envious clear and healthy skin. I love their body creams and the essential oils that are used offer an aromatherapy kick that you can only wish for at about 3pm on a busy day at work. I would highly recommend any of their hand and body creams, as well as their face wash and facial serum.

PROS: - The staff were really kind, understanding and non-judgemental. - The pricing is excellent. - The makeup looked phenomenal and flawless. CONS: - It took a little too long even after alerting them of our timing restrictions. - The chairs could be a little more comfortable, especially seeing how you'll be in them for a while when getting makeup done.

It's been here for around 6 months and for a pop up store, it's amazing! There's nothing makeshift about it, it's done up like the other stores. The staff are super friendly and the great thing is that not many people frequent level 1 of the QVB so it's very calm and the staff can divert all their attention to you - it's a lot more enjoyable shopping here compared to the hectic buzz of Mecca Cosmetica in Myer. On the downside, the store is maybe 1/2 or 1/3 the size of other Maxima stores and it stocks most, but not all of the products as the other Maxima stores. Best to call ahead to check if they stock a product.

At the very least, they engage you in conversation (if there's no other customers to attend to) while preparing your prescription, so you're not just standing around bored, waiting for them to finish. That, and they're a lot quicker than other pharmacies at actually filling out the paperwork and dispensing the medication, which is always handy.

Some of the items are actually 50% off from normal chemist (pharmacies). The intriguing thing here is I saw liquid products like fish oils instead of the tablet or capsules. There are also weekly discounts on certain items and you can stock up your needs accordingly. The store also carries different ranges of perfumes. First time I saw Mercedes-Benz's range of fragrances. The staffs are rather friendly and they will guide you to wherever you need to find the product. Cashier wise, depending on how many customers and how many staffs, it might be slower. Overall, it was a nice stopover and managed to get my essentials (tooth paste, centrum and lip balm) for less than $30. Score!! :)

Gary Castles is definitely for the high flyers and they will offer all the best of modern European design and colour. I especially likes the range of summer stilletos, the flat shoes were tailored more the up-market older woman. Made for comfort rather than style.
