We were…read morewandering around and needed to get a rapid COVID test (as back then our vaccination record hadn't been certified), so we were really grateful to find this spot. The folks were great, they helped us non-French speakers through the whole process and in fifteen minutes we were ready to go. They have the typical french selection of items that are both prescription and non-prescription, but if you are in downtown Lyon, give them a try :-)

This is the largest pharmacy in Lyon. It's situated in the city center and it's amazing what they…read morehave. They have long lines to talk to a pharmacist and/or get a prescription filled. There's a long line just to check out but it seems to go faster than the pharmacist one. There are lots of staff to help you find whatever you need and several consultants to assist you with products to take care of your skin mainly your complexion. For a couple of weeks, I've been trying to find a couple of obscure health supplements which I couldn't find anywhere, visiting a wide variety of stores, including small pharmacies, grocery stores and organic stores, in hopes one of them would at least know what they were. But none of them did, until going to this particular Grande Pharmacie Lyonnaise. Not only did they have them but they knew exactly what they were and what they were for. I'm impressed.

Ususally in France, pharmacies are tiny and everything is behind counters, with pharmacists/sales people glaring at you as your browse. This place is massive, it's like a decent sized Walgreens or CVS in the US, probably the biggest drugstore I've seen in France. They have a huge selection of skincare products, including brands like Le Roche Posay and Avene, which you can get in the US and UK, but at triple the price. I was able to get a few things at what felt like a bargain price, which was a great result.
