I had one of the cheapest rooms and so it was very small. However it was very very nicely decorated so the smallness was offset by beauty of the room. I enjoyed instead sitting in the public areas of the hotel which were beautiful, very quiet and peaceful (late in the season). The gardens are wonderful. The views from them and from the hotel are great.
The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. They speak English fluently and should you be traveling from China, one of the receptionists, Mariangela, also speaks Mandarin. Mariangela also arranged my follow-on hotel in Pompeii at a price significantly lower than what I was able to arrange at that same hotel on my own. Now that is service! And Mariangela also arranged for an excellent taxi ride on to Pompeii for 90€.
Getting up to Ravello from Amalfi Town is a little difficult but not terribly so. From Amalfi you can walk the some four thousand steps, you can take the local bus for a few Euros, or the hotel will send a taxi for you ... at a cost of 40€. Be prepared to load and unload your luggage in the space below the bus if you choose the bus option which I did. The bus ride is scenic and fairly short at maybe a half hour.
