The missus wanted to visit the grave of the important oncologist Gustave Roussy, I wanted to visit the most famous one - Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. We strolled around, trying to find these graves, thinking about loved ones that are no longer with us, and enjoying the serenity in the heart of Paris. The simple graves with fresh flowers touched me the most, the opulent but untended ones the least. Glad we came.

I have really come to rely on this great little laundromat in the 15th arrondissement when passing…read morethrough Paris on my travels. It's a great, dependable place to do a quick load of laundry when you're desperate for clean clothes. I really appreciate that it's very clean and well-lit, and I especially like the clear signage that explains how to operate the washers and dryers from the central payment box. The price per load is a little pricier than what I'm accustomed to with U.S. laundromats, but much more reasonable than what hotels charge. And for approximately €7-10, it's worth it to me to have a nice stack of clean and dry laundry after a week of traveling. The location is just a little over 2 blocks from the Vaugirard Métro station, and there are many options nearby in the neighborhood if you wish to grab coffee or a croissant while you wait or need to stop into a local pharmacy for supplies.

We were staying at a nearby hotel, and dropped off our laundry at the Pressing 5aSec (locations throughout Paris). 5aSec's laundry pricing (~2.90euro/kilo) was much cheaper than the hotel, and the turn-around time was about 24 hours.
