Love this restaurant, built in an old bomb shelter…read more Wonderful people who realized that we were Americans, would invite us to their table -- even though we didn't know more than a few words of each other's language. We lived on bratwurst, beer, bread, and sauerkraut -- our fav orders (mainly because it was all we could safely order). Female patrons would hoist us off out feet to polka with them on the nights the oompah bands would play, and we hardly had enough time to have a bit of our beer (the full glasses were multiplying at our place at the table) -- and we had lively exchanges of trying to teach each other a bit of our language. Truly, many a wonderful night were spent here. The food and beer were excellent, the service superlative -- but the experience of being there for an evening was priceless.

The courtyard butts up against the inside of the old city walls which are centuries old. Can't speak about the food here. I came for one last beer before I headed back home. Highly recommend this place for the atmosphere alone
