This was one of the best pipe shop experiences I've ever had. I was visiting Munich from the United States and sometimes like to buy a pipe and tobacco as a souvenir. The shop is not huge but has a solid selection of pipes and a very good selection of pipe tobacco. It looks like it also has a well-stocked humidor, but I didn't go in. The shop is very orderly with dark wood and pleasant lighting. The gentleman who greeted me spoke perfect English, which is absolutely not an expectation, but I'll admit made my experience rich. He was very helpful and patient as I looked through their pipe options, eventually settling on one of their own branded pipes, a beautiful hexagonal shape, complex grain, with aluminum ferrule for a very reasonable 99€. While I was there another employee was patiently teaching another customer how to smoke his very first pipe. The fellow helping me helped me also find a purchase two different tobaccos to take home. Wow. Just wow. This is Genussmittel Heaven. It's like stepping back in time. The gentleman that helped was wearing a full suit and tie. I thought I had walked into an Alfred Dunhill store back when they still sold pipes and tobacco. This place has been around for a long time - since the mid-1800's. Gorgeous wood paneling and selection of pipes, tobacco, cigars and spirits that will make you feel like a kid in a candy store. As I purchased pipes the customer service rep placed them on a felt mat so I could compare them. I felt like I was being treated like royalty or a powerful member of Parliament. It's not just the purchase that gives you pleasure here - it's the whole shopping experience. Ended up getting couple pipes and some pipe tobacco and a box of cigarillos. If you are a fan of what we German's call Genussmittel you owe to yourself to pay a visit here. The only disappointment is that you will be wishing your local tobacconist (awesome as they might be) was this sophisticated and epic. Highly recommended. read more

I did my research on the cigar stores that would be in the proximity of our hotel when we were in Munich. And I could not wait to check this place out and it did not let me down. They are pricey but if you want good quality smokes or drinks you get what you pay for. I had registered on their website ahead of time to check what they had in stock of specific Cuban cigars now that we can legally bring them back into the US. Quite a variety. But it was when I walked in even after seeing the pictures on Yelp, it was heaven. The walk-in humidor was well stocked and did not disappoint. So we started down my list and selected some fine cigars. I wish I could have purchased more but you buy what you can. Then I was offered a tasting of there Whiskeys and Scotches. How can you turn that down. If I am ever back in Munich (which is a probability) I'll be stopping again at Pfeifen Huber! read more

I do not recommend this shop because they have terrible customer service. They also sold me inadequate products. On Chrismas day (24 Dec) Jens Meyer destroyed the foot of my 72 euro cigar by forcing it into a tube that was too small for it (he knew it was broken and he still sold it to me after he put it into a different tube and escorted me to the counter). He was also very condescending and made sure I knew the cigar was very expensive. He then proceeded to try to sell me cheap products even though I requested for something nice. The merchandise I purchased was meant to be a gift to a friend. I cannot present this item to my friend now. I strongly suggest future patrons avoid this establishment Ich empfehle diesen Shop nicht, weil sie einen schrecklichen Kundenservice haben. Sie verkauften mir auch unzureichende Produkte. Am Weihnachtstag (24. Dezember) zerstörte Jens Meyer den Fuß meiner 72-Euro-Zigarre, indem er sie in eine zu kleine Röhre zwang (er wusste, dass sie kaputt war und verkaufte sie mir immer noch, nachdem er sie in eine andere Röhre gesteckt hatte) und begleitete mich zur Theke).
