Even though I read good reviews about this restaurant and I was truly looking forward for the…read moredinner here, the ultimate experience was very disappointing. It's located right on the main square and to me it seemed as a tourist plCe with slow and unfriendly service and food that does not correspond to the price. Maybe we were just unlucky but that's definitely not a place we will be returning to.
I really like the service and enjoy food at S'Pfandl. The location has two parts. The street level…read morewhich is more casual and the upper level which a bit more fancy, but still very relaxed. The dinning on the first floor is more my style and the staff is more professional. The staff is also very helpful and works great with kids. We have yet to have a bad experience and my all time favourite is the S'Pfandl Spiess. The downstairs area is a bit smaller, but upper section can also be book for larger groups, parties and even has a cool looking bar.

Around Baumgartner Höhe is almost no choice for lunch, at least on Yelp…read more This place is well signposted from the park, The outside is very plain, inside nicely decorated and well maintained. Service was good, the place was about half full. Food choice is basic Hausmannskost but OK. The food itself came quickly, was basic too but OK and nicely presented. Outside is lots of seating and a great view.

It's nothing too creative or exciting, but it is fresh and good. They serve a lemongrass and ginger lemonade which is very good though you don't really taste the lemongrass and ginger. It's still a nice change from the usual lemon spritzer. The service is friendly. I really want to come back to try their Friday special which you can see on the photo below. Fried chicken and potato salad for only €5.50! They have a nice playground mostly for small kids, but also including a large trampoline. They have a kids' menu for around 5 euros. Friends mentioned how they enjoy coming here for a hot chocolate after cross country skiing in the Steinhofgründe. I must try that next winter. In the meantime, I plan on hiking up sometime with the family on a Friday for that special and another lemongrass ginger lemonade!

Several products are bio and they even shoe on the menu their suppliers (all local). They also have a daily menu which changes depending on the season. Probably the best address on the area and with good price/quality. Friendly and fast service, you should probably book specially for the evening and weekends.
