Voralberg is one of the most memorable places I have ever visited. Towering above the beautiful town of Bregenz is the Pfänder, a mountain where you can go skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. It is a fast seilbahn (cable car) ride to the top. Once there, you can enjoy watching the mountain goats grazing and begin hiking the Käse-Wanderweg which is a trail system that connects the many dairy farms in the hills of Voralberg. Worth a trip to the top - You don't realize how high it really is until you take the ride up there. The ride up to the top is very smooth. There was at least a 5 degree difference in the temperature once we made it to the top. The view is pretty impressive. There is a small playground for kids and a cafeteria style restaurant. read more
