I showed them a picture, and while my hair was still too short for the style they still helped me out. They trimmed my hair to prepare it to grow into the style as well as recommend me products and gave my advice on how to style it when my hair is long enough. A few weeks later and it was time for prom, my hair grew into the right length and was ready to be styled. After following the advice I was able to achieve the style I wanted perfectly and it was ready for prom. Since they helped me out on a special occasion, I will remember this place fondly even if I'm not able to regularly frequent it anymore.

Vicky answered and said I could come in the next day (today). We cut about 12 inches off and my hair looks and feels better than it has in years. The salon is lovely, all of the staff is so friendly and Vicky made me feel so good about myself, something that I haven't been feeling lately. I would give Vicky 10 stars if I could! Thank you Clayhill Salon. I look forward to seeing you again soon! P.S. I work in downtown Toronto and that is where I use to get my hair cut. Always $150 or more. When Vicky told me the total I had to ask her twice, I was shocked. Clayhill will get all of my business from now on!

I heard about Studio Fontana on a Facebook group. The lady quoted me a price under $130 for dye, cut and style. When I arrived at the salon they were behind schedule. The lady met me and was really friendly. She then began to do my hair. After she washed out the dye I noticed my roots were still very dark and I asked her some questions about my hair. She then revealed, she used a temporary dye on my hair (what??? Are you kidding me!!) and she is going to charge me more to re-dye my hair because she will now have to use more dye and it will come out of her pocket. Okay, so now I'm being charged for her mistake?? If she did it right the first time, I wouldn't be in this situation. No salon has ever used temporary dye on my hair. Now, instead of leaving at a normal hour, I was stuck waiting for her to finish my hair until midnight. During the 6 hours I was stuck at this salon I was famished. I wanted to eat dinner but could not because I was sitting in the salon. I also didn't want to eat dinner at midnight since it was time for me to schlep home and go to bed. Any who, my hair looked good when I left the salon but the next day something glorious happened. After I went in the shower (the stylist said this was okay) the dye ran out of my hair and I had no more dye in my hair. My hair faded in one wash! Was this really permanent dye? I really don't think so! I've dyed my hair for years and have never experienced anything like this. I would honestly NEVER return to this salon. Yes, the lady was nice but I've never had my hair fade in one day. This was a horrible experience and I had to go pay another salon to fix their mistake. Talk about a pricy haircut and dye job. Now I had to spend another $200 to redo what Salon Fontana didn't do Right the first time. I don't recommend this salon at ALL.

I was called by my stylist and had my hair washed, that went fine. The issue was when he asked me what I would like done. I showed him a refrence image and told him I wanted shoulder-length layers. He verbally said "Layers?" and I went "Yes, layers". I specifically asked for layers becasue my hair tends to be flat so I need the volume. I ended up with my hair cut all one length, and significantly longer than shoulder length. I did notice that it didn't look right, but he had been cutting my hair for like an hour and a half at that point (which is way too long to cut hair one length) and I had prior engagments after my appointment so I decided to just leave it because I physically could not sit in that chair any longer. To be fair, the cut was done alright and he styled it really nicely, I am just really confused because he knew what I wanted done, we both acknowledged it verbally, and he gave me something that was literally the complete opposite of what I asked for, and took forever doing it.

The receptionists are really nice, but the hairstylists are rude, arrogant and not willing to help you much. I've had my hair cut by a few different hairstylists, and the above seems like a pattern of behaviour from a toxic culture. All of them were short and rude in their general responses and conversations. It's really weird. I'm not surprised, but they also didn't want to wear masks. Although they are not mandatory anymore, they don't seem to care about immunocompromised folks at all. Overall, this is a super douchy place that echos its name.
