I'm reviewing for customer service in store purchases. The cashier was very helpful as it was my first time in this store since moving from Scottsdale. My cat eats prescription food, and I had the prescription with me. She told me where to find the correct food and then checked me out with no hassle. I'm on auto-ship with them, but things got off because of move. Glad they were so accommodating. Will be going in for cat toys in the future. read more

Danielle at the Oro Valley location just shaved my Australian shepherd! His coat will never be the same. Every groomer should know that they need haircuts NOT shaving. We didn't ask her to do that and then she argued with me and said that's what they did last time. They've NEVER shaved him! The manager John was nice and offered a refund but that's not going to help his hair grow back. I'm so upset! DON'T let her groom your dog! read more

I took my 3 dogs to the grooming salon at this location because our usual groomer retired. One dog had a positive experience and no problems, I observed one of the other dogs being roughly handled, and the third dog's penis was nicked with the trimmer and had to go to Urgent Care. That seriously increased the cost of the grooming, and caused him a lot of discomfort. I wouldn't go to this location unless you know the groomer who is grooming your dog from start to finish. read more

Went in this evening to purchase a leopard gecko. Was told it isn't acceptable to have two leopard geckos in a small tank (20 gallon tank). Yet the tank that they have two geckos in is way smaller than a 20 gallon tank. if that ain't the pot calling the kettle I don't know what is. This store usually has everything I need. For awhile they seemed to run out of stock on the brand and type of fish food I bought there, but I don't buy the frozen kind anymore. The aquarium supplies seem to be a but pricey but its good to have their rewards card for discounts. read more

We took our year old Shih Tzu here in December 2016. The groomer seemed very inexperienced and rough with our dog. He came out shorn and scared. We had asked for a minor hair and nail trim. Our dog also got razor burn on his genitals. Never again subjecting my dog to this bad service! Afterwards, we ended up having to take him to vet for antibiotics and treatment. Pet Smart should take care to better train their groomers. read more

This is not a review for pets smart, but for paws and claws. I can't recall the lady volunteer's name but she has to be the worst. Extremely rude. Her attitude from the start made us not want to adopt. It was my first time adopting a cat and my experience was ruined. I was so excited to get a cat, but because of this lady a poor cat wasn't able to go to a loving home. Paws and claws please do something about this lady. read more

I come to this location for a number of things, but primarily the grooming salon. My older dog has unfortunately had bad experiences at other groomers and is now finicky about his feet and ears, but the groomers here have always been sweet and compassionate about it so he's getting better. He always leaves here looking like he got a fresh blow out and happy as a clam. Their prices are more than fair as well. read more

Was in town for the weekend and made a very last minute appointment for my dog to get a trim and bath. They fit him in and did a great job. He did end up having a lot of loose hair and shedding afterwards so that's my only complaint but otherwise was very pleased. read more

This Petsmart is in a very good location, well laid out, and stocked with their normal brands. What I'm looking for is always there so I can't complain. But the staff don't go out of your way to help you. I've found the staff are nicer when I bring in my dog, but if I'm swinging by after work, without my dog, to grab something they don't really say anything to me. read more

I go here once a quarter to get my terripoo spruced up. I've been pretty happy with the groomers, however, they did NOT trim his nails and ear hair. Make sure to emphasize your desire to have these areas trimmed or they will overlook it. Nonetheless, Scruffy will be going there next week :) read more

I called ahead to get my dog's nails trimmed she's a puppy they asked me how old she was I told the girl on the phone 13 weeks they told me they do walk ins starting at 4 p.m. so I hung out in the shopping center for about 45 minutes until 4 I went in and didn't see the door to The Grooming Room looked into one of the big Windows there was three girls working on one dog I motioned to ask where the door is to get in and they all three just stared at me and two of them turned around when I figured out where the door was I came in none of them acted like they wanted to help us then when the girl who was sweeping the floor finished up she walked up to the front asked me if I was there to get my dog's nails trimmed I said yes she asked again how old she was I told her and then she asked for the rabies shots I told her I don't have rabies shot records she's 13 weeks old I told her it would have been nice to know when I called for her to tell me over the phone and I told her that I wasted a trip with my dog and she just stared at me. Moral of the experience poor communication, poor customer service, un welcoming, won't be going there again read more

Really appreciate how helpful the staff is and how nice they are!! They always seem happy to see customers which is not always the vase at their nearby competitors (you figure out who). There is typically a young lady named Cortni there who is especially customer service oriented and is a pleasure to work with! Tonight I got really bad customer service. Was not greeted when I walked in, and nobody came to check on me to see if I needed help. I walk up to the cashiers and the two cashiers are standing there chit chatting. They see I'm there with my stuff in my hands ready to check out and I am waiting for their conversation to be over. Finally I had to ask "is your register open?" to lady whose light was off of her register. She knew I was there. She saw me. And then she was so casual about it, didn't even apologize and checked me out very slowly. read more

I like this store because it is clean and large, having inventory that I am looking for. However, two visits in a row, a few weeks apart, when purchasing pet food, cashiers at the front are in such a hurry they are throwing cans in the bag, dropping cans on the floor then tossing in the bag without looking. I've been the only person in line both times, so it's not like it's rush hour shopping. The last time, the cashier was on the phone, so focused on the customer on the phone, she dropped my items and didn't even finish checking me out or say goodbye. I've spoken to the manager who never let me finish my sentences and it was evident that "customer care" as they call it, isn't high on their list of priorities. read more

Have taken my dogs there for 6 months for their nail trim and no problems. Today my 13 year old dog comes home with a bleeding foot. Don't think it was just the nail that was cut too short. I think her skin was also cut. It bled for over an hour. Not happy. read more

She was so butchered, I cried. She was uneven everywhere and scalped in some places where she actually bled! She looked like a mosquito. And her face was short hair on one side and long on the other! Danielle is honestly the worst manager that I have ever encountered when having to deal with one. She is rude, hard to get ahold of and very disconnected from reality (she doesn't seem to be there when you are trying to talk to her). My dog had a grooming appointment and I was about to send her in. At last min I mentioned she had a vaccine done yesterday and then the lady told me that she couldn't take her because we needed to wait 48 hours. If I didn't say anything about her getting shots the lady would have taken her. Super unprofessional. called in to get my dog picked up at curbside as advertised, but then told me they are not doing curbside pickups because it is hotter than 90 degrees out. it makes no difference, the dog will come outside whether its with me or with someone else curbside, sounds to me like they are just being lazy. if you dont want to pick up curbside, then dont advertise it (its that simple). then it took more than two hours to get the "brush and bath" service done. its not rocket science, my dog has very short hair read more

I absolutely love Petsmart's Doggie Day Camp. My 9 month old boxer puppy just came home from 5 hours of all play time and she is pooped. The associates cater to your needs (medication, food, toys etc) if you need, you just have to tell them. And the price is awesome, $12 for any time under 6 hours and $18 over 6 hours. By the way they open at 7am, play time starts at 9am and they close at 9pm. I will definitely be going back. read more

Set an appt for my dog to be groomed online with Danielle. I showed up at 5:30 and they said your appt was at 5. I said no it was for 5:30 and Danielle said I wouldn't have set it for 5:30 because we close at 7. I got the email on my phone and showed it to the girl at the front and she turned around and told Danielle that it was for 5:30. Danielle didn't apologize at all just said there won't be time since it takes two hours. They went on to say that their power has been going on and off so they can't schedule another appt right now. So I said what do you want me to do then? Danielle said she will take down my name and number and call me back to set another appt. I will never go back. They were very unkind and not professional at all. I have read bad reviews about their grooming services, but decided to try since it is so close to my house. I called PetCo when I left and spoke to Jonathan got an appt the next day and he was so polite on the phone. Drive pass Petsmart and go the extra few miles to PetCo at the Market Place. read more

Terrible place to bring your dog for grooming. Tried to make an appointment for a nail cut and grind. They wouldn't do it. Kind of sarcastic on the phone. They said we don't have to, just bring "the" dog in. We did that. Guess what? The person that does the nails was not there. A wasted trip on our weekend. They said to come back in an hour which we did. Guess what? The person was still not there. Only because we challenged their professionalism did two people "have" to do it. What??? We have a large dog and they visually seemed to have a hard time getting the job done. When finished, they told us not to come back to that store. You decide. We have lived in OV for 20 years. How about if we just don't go there anymore and spread our story about the grooming event? read more

My dog has been groomed at Petsmart for 2 years with no issues. Took him in at 7:00 am yesterday and picked him up at 10:00. He refused to eat all day and had to be coaxed to drink water. Seemed almost fearful all day and just wanted to lay and sleep and/or cuddle, and had a sad look. This morning he finally ate his breakfast. Took our walk and when we encountered a small dog we are familiar with, my dog unexpectantly became very aggressive and it was hard to calm him. I apologized to the other dog's owners and explained I believe something happened at the groomers to affect my dog's behavior. I called and asked about my dog's grooming visit and was told nothing unusual occurred. Well, SOMETHING happened because this whole thing was unusual. I believe that there may have been an aggressive or upset dog in close proximity to mine while they were held out back in cages, and perhaps my dog was somehow victimized by that dog, and as a result is afraid and now very aggressive towards dogs he even knows. Hopefully, this will subside soon, but I am seriously rethinking subjecting my dog to this possibility every time I bring him to be groomed. He's a sweet and gentle dog and was obviously traumatized somehow while at this Petsmart grooming dept. Just an honest description and resulting opinion. I love my dog and want the best for him, which I feel he did not receive while being groomed this time. read more
