I'm not pleased with the system. They don't keep notes in the system about your pet nor do they read the owners notes placed online (if you book your appt that route). So it's very annoying to have to remember how to explain every little detail each and every appointment, Only to show up and your dog doesn't have the cut you wanted. If you're a regular and you're there almost every month, (if not every other month) your groomer should know you. I mean, hell I'm leaving a tip. Also the new staff just stare at you with these bizarre attitudes as if they aren't used to people or talkative animals and they make curt petty remarks under their breath about peoples animals. The greetings are half hearted, barely saying hello and no goodbyes or have a great day or thanks for choosing PetSmart. It's also very annoying for the team to ask you about additional services. If your customer placed an appt specifying their needs STOP Upselling. I had 2 different members ask me to add another service. Luckily this time my dog wasn't snipped. I want to commend the staff here for fixing an issue I've had the past couple of times I've made purchases here. I have leopard geckos that eat meal worms or wax worms from here and my last 2 times purchasing them I found a good amount of dead ones in my package. The first time I blew it off but the second time I called to see if I could exchange them. They told me I could even though I had no receipt. My boyfriend went and did the exchange and didn't check the package to make sure it didn't have a bunch of dead ones. When I looked it was empty. I know it is not their fault, the shipment was just not up to usual standards. I called again and they apologized and let him come back even though they were closing. One of the ladies there helped him look for a package that was perfect. I appreciate their help and understanding and will continue giving them my business. read more

I brought my basset hound to their grooming department and it was horrible! The package I purchase was supposed to cover bath, teeth clean, and nail cut. Well... when I got her home I noticed she still had dirt on her belly and wax in her ears. She still had soft tarter on her teeth that I had to brush off and her nails were cut but left long and were splintered. Part of the package was to also include a bandanna, but that didn't happen either. Never again! read more

This store is in the middle of the bustling River City MarketPlace, so bring your patience when it is time to park. As far as PetSmarts go, this location is bright, clean, and has a friendly staff. Located in the St. Johns Town Center, this PetSmart is a great location to shop for anything for your pets. Not only is this a great place to shop for food, toys, accessories, but they also have a Banfield Pet Hospital if you need a quality veterinarian, and they offer accredited training for your dogs. The majority of this store is geared towards dogs and cats. There is a massive selection of foods, with name brands, and also healthy all natural types available. The snacks and treats are endless, and they also have a huge selection of rawhide and jerky snacks for dogs. Tons of toys are everywhere, as well as leashes, collars, training devices, and everything else in between. There are also a pretty decent selection of fish and fish supplies- tanks, filters, decorations for aquariums. The bird and reptile selection is also pretty decent, not massive- you may need to go to a specialty store if you're looking for something hard to find or particular, but they do have a basic selection. The only downside to shopping PetSmart is that the prices of the items. It's not OVERLY expensive, although you can usually get food or leashes cheaper at Target or Wal-Mart. I gladly pay the extra bit of money in order to get an impressive selection, though, it's hard to not find what you're looking for here. Overall, I really enjoy going to PetSmart, the selection is quite impressive, and they have great employees who are very friendly. You can also bring your pets in with you, as long as they're leashed and have their shots. I have used Petsmart's grooming salon a few different times as they are close to home which makes them very convenient. Sometimes service is ok and sometimes service is very poor. As another commenter mentioned they are lazy and lack the necessary skills to handle different pet personalities and nature. These people are trained to provide a hair cut and that's it. You don't get the services you pay for. In my opinion the place is ran similar to a puppy mill. They try to get in as many pets as they can to make the maximum dollar amount without any regard for the pet's needs. After services today I am completely done. My fur baby smell the same if not worst when I dropped her off. Where is the deodorizing scent I paid for? I'm going to take my fur baby to professional groomers that actually care about the type of services they provide as well as provide the services I pay for. read more

Came in to look at reptiles and fish. Ended up finding 2 dead fish, dead crab, and a spider in the crab tank. I find this unacceptable and when the staff laughs in my face because they are not doing their job correctly. I would not recommend going to this petsmart at all. read more

I bring my shih tzu puppy to Sierra for grooming and she is amazing. She does such a good job and she is so patient with him while he is learning that he has to be groomed. I wouldn't take him to any place else. The store is also always well stocked and has what I need. read more

This was a horrible experience, I have used Banfield and their plan for years now and this has had me never want to set foot in a PetSmart/Banfield again. The staff there could care less about its client, four legged or otherwise. Then the physician injured my dog, caused huge swelling and bruising on his neck and had the audacity to say 'he did not do well when we started poking and prodding'- instead of bring him to me and where I could witness they kept him in the back to continue the mistreatment and tried to cover it up with ice when he came back out. Let me be clear, my dog did not get aggressive with them, he 'wiggled a lot' and I was told he should be drugged. So if your animal does not want to be 'poked or prodded' and 'wiggles' a lot... you can expect them to leave injured with bruising and large swelling at their neck. This establishment and its members need to have their license re-evaluated... the word to describe them is cruel! read more

The store itself is decent, they always have what I need and my pup loves to pee all over the trees and grass as we walk up to the building but my disappointment is with the grooming salon. My dog has a short coat and doesn't require much, I can do it at home but he sheds a ton so I like to have a groomer give him a bath. Our last visit to the groomers when I got home I noticed he still smelled and his nails weren't clipped. We have been here many times before with no problem but that last salon visit upset me so now when he needs a bath we go to the petsmart on Monument. read more

The beauty of this place is that it serves several purposes. First and foremost, it's a pet supply store and the makers of this place cleverly divided all the products based on the type of animal you have. I have two cats and I know exactly where to go to get feline supplies. When it comes cat supplies, the litter, the food, the treats and the toys are lower price than Wal-Mart. The other areas (dogs, birds, fish) are clearly marked and have such a wide array of products, I'd be in joy if I had one of those pets. But aside from the pet supply area, this PetSmart also has a veterinarian area called BanField. Now, even though it's convenient to have a vet in there, I would strongly recommend not going to BanField, simply because it's extremely overpriced and I can name three places off the top of my head that are cheaper and will give you the same quality of service. Finally, another awesome thing about this place is that the center circle hosts pet obedience classes. Overall, go there for the cheaper pet supplies and the obedience classes. Stay away from Banfield. If you need to, there's a pet groomer there too, although I have no idea the price. read more

These groomers are fine if all you want is a razor cut. I have a long haired breed and asked them to comb out a small matted area, which they agreed to and then went ahead and shaved her down to the skin. Never again. read more

The pet care department here needs help. Every time I come here the animals are in poor condition. The goldfish feeder tanks are gross, dozens of dead or dying fish laying at the bottom. Hermit crabs have no water. Guinea pigs always have visible ringworm. Not sure how no one notices--unless they do and they just leave them there? Rough, hairless and scaly patches on the face seem hard to miss. Lots of bettas with horrible fin rot, some dead, still out on the floor. They also don't allow adoptions or discounts for animals/fish that are close to death, unlike many other stores. I attempted to adopt a hamster with hydrocephalus (water on the brain) who had no teeth and could not eat the solid food provided and was told no. Also attempted to adopt bettas that had almost no fins, torn and ragged and half of them floating on their sides, again told no. Hopefully something can be done to help these animals. read more

Do Not Ever Order Online From PETSMART(???) I ordered dog poo removal bags on 9-6-15. They were sent to billing address NOT SHIPPING ADDRESS. I have since called because never delivered when they tell me and as of today, they keep shipping to a billing address which is a vacant house. The customer service is so incompetent, they are unable to type a 4 digit, one word new address to ship these items I paid for and paid for shipping. The customer service was arrogant and the last person told me to call UPS and chase them down at their headquarters ( where ever that may be). No help from customer service after 5 different phone calls and three different supervisors. Said they would not ship again because they aren't sure correct address will be put in system. What a horrible customer service.....The store is nice,, but ordering online is a big fat ZERO...........They have had my money since 9-6-15. read more

We have always sworn by this location, staff and service but after todays visit we don't plan on returning. We called and set an appointment for just a bath, sanitary trim and teeth brushing. Three hours after we brought our dog in we figured it must be getting close to time for Petsmart to give us a ring so we left our house and headed that way. To our surprise when we got there, our dog still was not done and we decided to just wait. While waiting we noticed many of the groomers were lolly-gaging and joking around the grooming tables (Only 2/4 of them had dogs). One groomer particular had a difficult dog and you could see her frustration coming out in the brushing of the dog. It was almost $70 total for today's visit and I just don't believe it is worth waiting 4 hours for a bath and toothbrushing OUR DOG NEVER RECEIVED THE SANITARY TRIM WE PAID FOR EITHER. I love this place. The staff at the Town center location (All of them but the general manager) cares so much, I go there quite often and you can tell everyone at the store, the groomers, the hospital and training staff is so caring, you can tell they love animals and they love what they do. And honestly everytime I have a bad experience is with the customer service provided by the general manager. he always have an attitude like my dog and people annoy him. This is in regards to the pet grooming salon. My furry friends have been apart of the PetSmart family since they were puppies and kittens. I loved everything about this company and what it stood for, but not today. I was disrespected and felt unimportant. The customer service that i received was disrespectful and unprofessional. I talked to an associate and the manager in the grooming salon in regards to the flee preventative medicine since the last time my Princess got service there, she came back flee ridden and I had to retreat all my furry friends and my home. I tried to explain this over the phone, but I got transferred and eventually my call went back to the grooming salon. Getting to the point, I came in to the store to talk to the Store Lead Brandon and Lindsey from the grooming salon was also there. They approached me and I started to explain my concerns. Lindsey leaves me and Brandon with a smirk on her face. Not only that, she was walking down the aisle, she turned around and smirked some more. Now, thats what I call being disrespectful and unprofessional. Now Brandon the store lead manager was looking at me like deer in the headlights and it seemed like he didnt care what i had to stay, like it was going in one ear and out the other. I stressed to him how long I have been apart of the PetSmart family, but after the experience and service I received today, I will no longer shop and purchase anything from this store and nor am I going to go across town to another one. As long as PetSmart employees people like them, I would rather take my money/business somewhere else and receive the customer service that I deserve and I did just that. read more
