Most kennels are a symphony of stressed, barking dogs, but these dogs were quiet and calm. The kennel is an old barn and is well designed for intake and outtake. Our dog had an old horse stall with lots of fresh air, cool smells, and a view of all the action. He got his meds without a problem. Would definitely board him there again. Cindy clearly knows and loves her dogs. Like many businesses on the Eastern Coast of Canada, it's better to reach out by phone. If Cindy doesn't call you back, call her again. Cash or check only.

Bulk barn is a bulk food store that sells things like a variety of grains , flours , powdered…read moresauces ,cous cous, noodles, powdered drinks, nuts, dried fruits , a huge variety of candy , and snacks , cold pie fillings , granola etc. They even carry organic and sprouted items at decent prices. I would love to see them continue to expand their organic line. They carry Nature's path products , dog and small animal food plus soap and they even rent out baking pans . They have a huge variety of them. I have visited 3 Bulk Barns Charlottetown, Moncton and Summerside and truth be told if it was not for bulk barn I would have starved the first month I was in this area. While I may eat junk food when I am out at home I cook healthy organic vegan / veggie stuff which for some reason has not really caught on here in Eastern Canada. Anyway that being said this Bulk Barn is larger then the one in Summerside and about the same size as the one in Moncton, hence they carry more items then the Summerside one. Also just a warning their prices are excellent on some things and highway robbery on others PLUS not everything here is healthy , its just as bad filled with preservatives and chemicals and fattening so READ the little red & white recipe/ ingredient cards they have on each barrel.

I've been to stores in Charlottetown, Moncton, Halifax, Toronto, Montreal, and St John's. I love the concept and business model of bulk stores and would love to see them in the US.

This review starts with mixed feelings. I know this is a good independent store. they have good…read moreproducts. I do not know if the prices are good. unfortunately I had a bed experience in this store today and I think it was a 50/50 split who caused the problem. so this it what happened. I went into store to get cat kibble. I explained to the lady there what we feed our two cats now. I think she started off wrong by calling what we feed our cats 'bologna' referring to the quality of the Vet purchased food $150 a bag plus tax. I thought this a bit forcefull, we try our best but here was a retail person putting our decision in a bad light. Further note she told me that cats don't need to drink water and only do because they are dehydrated. I told her I disagreed with her and that all cat drink water. She mentioned something about cats metabolism and again I thought her approach was not correct for retail sales. I told her she was too aggressive for retail sales. I did not swear it I was firm in making my point known. she explained that she had done research on cat food and I asked her what type of research. she told me she has a degree in biology. it went back and forth, I settled for a big bag of food and took it to the counter. she left the sales area. I told the man at the counter that she was too aggressive for retail no sales. he told me that that was my opinion and that I'm entitled to it. well of course I am. He also told me I was rude. one thing lead to another and I left the store without the cat food. I know their side of this story might be different. so if you read this please note I'm not badmouthing them in any way. I was firm in my opinion and challenged them several times to explain where they obtained their information and opinions regarding the competitions and their products. Enough said thank for reading this review. Peter Metaxas Iona PEI
