Loved my experience here. Not only is it my typical place where I shop for toys and food for my American bully, it is where I took him to get groomed for the first time. Everyone says not to take your dog to a chain when it comes to grooming, but they were so great with him And truly loved him. And patient as he is a rescue and it was his first time! They said they almost didn't call me to pick him up because they liked him so much Lol. They were not shy to recommend some training Classes either which I thought was very transparent and kind of them- he does need some refinement now that he's in his forever home! Took my dog to the Niagara Falls Blvd pet smart to be groomed by Emma. My dogs ears were cut up quite good during her groom and the groomer never said anything about it to me. Both sides of her ears have pieces of skin missing. They aren't small little cuts.. each is about the size of a nickel. If the wounds don't close she will have to be put on an oral antibiotic. If the groomer was honest and told me about this mistake I would not be as upset because I could have cared for the wound as needed. I know mistakes happen but some honesty here would have been great. Spoke to one of the groomers about this situation and she said her supervisor would call me back but they never did. read more

We don't have a dog right now. But, happily, we have a dog that vacations with us a few times a year when his original rescuers (proudly rescued from the pound) leave town. So, I've been here a few times for treats or toys. Because, you know, we want him to like our digs. This PetSmart feels smaller to me than the one on NFB, but could be wrong. Bobo is welcome to come visit in here too, and it's high on his favorite places list. This is honestly one of his favorite places. I don't buy enough pet related goods to know if their treats and toys are reasonably priced, but I never feel gouged. 3 stars for this large chain. Never. Go. To. Petsmart. Grooming. EVER! I've been taking my dog to groomers across the country for 7 years and we have never had this issue. This store ruined my old girls spa day. They literally sent out my 11 year old Husky IN THE WINTER with a wet coat. She was still very damp when I picked her up. The manager I spoke with said they usually offer to finish drying them, but this time they did not. The fur on one of her ears is suspiciously thinner than it was when I took her in. They didn't even trim her nails at the correct angle. They even put her in a kennel "between services" after agreeing not to do so.. which was completely unnecessary for a bath and nail trim that could have all been done in one go. Petco had no issue following the same instructions! ON TOP OF THAT she must have been yelling so loud while she was in the kennel that the whole store could hear her, because a cashier told Sasha that she "was such a drama queen" because "she's fine now" and. No. She deserved to make a big deal out of that. And you can bet your ass I will be too. After speaking to more reputable groomers, I've learned that Petsmart groomers are severely undertrained and have a reputation for this. So many senior dogs that are Sashas age DIE AT GROOMERS BECAUSE OF THIS! Read their older google reviews. HORRIBLE. I took my dog there to be groomed and they did an botched job . She looks like a hairless dog with random long strands of long hair sucking out . When I got her back , her paws had little marks and bleeding . The fur on her paws are at least 2 inches long and has some bald spots everywhere. This is ridiculous. I can't believe the groomer did this . I can even see her skin under her fur . For all customers , I do not recommend getting your animal groomed here ‼ read more

We have five pets and we go to different pet stores for all of their necessities! PetSmart is our store for the cat food, and this is our go to location as it is closest to home. You're probably wondering why I don't just buy their food at any of the other stores, or Chewy. The answer is simple- we can't! We buy the PetSmart brand for our babies, Simply Nourish. The brand comes in several varieties/ flavors, and that have options fir adults vs kittens, wet vs dry, etc. we have three cats- two of them are six and one is four. They are healthy little babes and this food keeps them going. Of course, we can't come in here without ultimately getting a dog toy, fish aquarium item, etc also. And, we always bring our beagle in and he convinces the employees he will work for treats. Speaking of the employees, they are friendly and knowledgeable and couldn't be more helpful! I have taken my bernedoodle to several different Pet Smart Groomer locations with the attempt to get better grooming to no avail. They charge me $70.00 for a wash and blow dry, nail trim and what is supposed to be a ear clean and pluck. Consistently Ive had to return my dog to the salon for them to clean her ears. They just dont do it at all or properly. It is such a simple task. I am now fed up and just tired of asking for the same thing over and over. I could easily take a washcloth and wipe out her ears from the dirt and debrie. They need better dog grooming training for their staff. I do not recommend grooming your dog with PetSmart they will charge you alot and you will get subpar results. read more

I've been visiting this PetSmart location consistently for just under a year, ever since I received the best surprise ever: Mr. Bentley Cat. Anyways, I frequent this store to purchase toilet paper for Bentley... er, I mean cat litter, treats, and a few kitty toys. I even got Bentley's harness and leash here, although he isn't crazy about these items. One thing I really like about this PetSmart is its convenience factor. They always have what I'm looking for, it's organized, and pretty clean. I don't, however, appreciate the fact it's a chain store and I can get items much cheaper elsewhere. I brought my dog in to get groomed, but he had fleas and had to wait a few weeks after using the Seresto collar the Stephanie recommended. I brought him back and Stephanie did a great job. Before he was groomed she did a check to see if the fleas were under control. Stephanie was very sweet to my dog. I will be booking appointments with her every time. read more

What a pleasant experience. I was nervous about taking our two puppies in for grooming, they can be a lot to handle. I was pleasantly surprised by how Sam and Stephanie interacted with them, the dogs seemed to be at ease with both girls and I was relieved. Prior to taking the puppies Stephanie explained the procedure throughly and told me she would contact me when they were finished. A huge store located in a strip mall with a giant parking lot, I guess the main thing to recommend PetSmart is convenience and price. Although their offerings in higher-quality pet food lines are better than they used to be, locally owned shops are still the only place get the best eats for cats and dogs. I've also been shocked to see how many of the pet edibles come from China. Given the ongoing issue with fatalities related to contamination in products of this origin, that seems like something conscientious retailers should be avoiding. Other than MilkBones, I was able to find no US-made dog treats. Long and short of it: you (and your pet) can do a lot better. read more

I've been shopping here since I got my cat 7 years ago. PetSmart is a big box chain, so there are many options. My cat and my dog are on a specific diet and they carry just what I need at prices that are comparable to buying them at other places or online. Although it's their job, they are current on any pet food recalls and promptly remove items. The cats they have come from a local shelter and they have hosted animal rescues at this site for special events as well. The customers service is always great. They usually only have one cashier open, but the wait is rarely long. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. read more

We rescued a dog and were given a voucher to come in for a "Puppy Orientation". We called to set it up and were given a date in early July. After a few days we received a call to reschedule for another date and they said the next available appointment in the evening was in mid-August. Disappointed it was rescheduled for so far away, we "signed-up" for this date. We were told we were to "show up" and any paperwork we needed to do, could be done at that time. Fast forward a few months and we show up for our Puppy Orientation and are told there isn't one happening, they have no record of us calling, or our pets history (which was all taken over the phone to "sign up"). Needless to say, this has been an incredibly frustrating and disrespectful experience. If you are looking for training, perhaps stay with a local, reputable business. read more

I bring my dog here for her grooming and she is always cute and clean when I pick her up. Being a rescue dog, she comes with a few issues and isn't always the friendliest dog. This makes me nervous when I bring her to places and I always give the groomer a fair warning. But, every time I come to pick her up - they always ask why I give a warning because she is so good. I have friends that hate to come over because she can be so mean with strangers - yet, PetSmart's grooming has a way of getting past that! I always feel confident that they will do a good job. PetSmart, being a big retailer, has all the usual products you would want for a cat or dog. I have had less luck with chinchilla food and products. They do carry chinchilla food, but not the good stuff. And what they do have is overpriced. I've also attended a puppy training class and found it helpful, but not the same quality as some of the other non-chain dog trainers' classes. In general, I like PetSmart for dog treats and toys, but still buy my soft frisbees and chinchilla food online. read more

This review is for the pet salon-- we have taken our 2 puppies there twice now for nail clippings and the gals that work the salon are AMAZING. Our pups were a little out of sorts being there and the Petsmart team could not have done a better job. Emily especially. She was clipping our puppy's nails and actually called another employee over just to comfort our pup because she was scared. We've been able to walk-in both times and get immediate service. Friendly workers, and carried everything I was looking for. The ceilings are really high, so you really have to crane your next to see what the aisle signs say. Being located in a plaza, it has ample parking. It's not quite a busy as the NFB location, so that's another plus. read more

So I brought my dog (which is 5 years old) in for a nail trim and was basically asked not to come back. I know my dog can be a handful when it comes to his nails which is why I bring him to a pro. I tipped her $10 which is a 100% tip then after told me "with attitude" he needs to be medicated and shouldn't come back. That was a slap in the face and I wish I could taken the tip back right there! Not once in the 5 years of having my dog has a place said this to me!! Mind you last time he was there they said "we recommend bringing him in once a month" blah blah so that's inviting us back clearly. As soon as I walked in this time I didn't get the best feeling but let them go ahead and take him. The girl who greeted me had no personality and it seemed as if she didn't even want to be there, wasn't even friendly with my dog from the start which seemed to make my dog more uncomfortable and not wanting to go back with her. DOGS CAN FEEL THE VIBE AND THE ENERGY YOU GIVE OFF. I do not remember her name but she had long blonde hair. I'm sorry but if you work with dogs you should know how to talk to them and treat them. Get a new profession if you can't be friendly with a dog. With that said I moved here more recently from 5 hours away, I used to bring my dog to the same place for a couple years and they always loved to see us come and they were super welcoming. I'd always apologize for him being a handful and they would say oh it's not that bad, he's honestly super nice and such sweetheart and with his breed it's soo common. So with that said I don't think my dog is the problem here. My dog, Jersey is a 1 year old German cattle dog and my boyfriend and I had just recently brought her for her first spa and grooming. As a dog who is still in training she was very nervous and shaky and we had a very hard time getting her to relax. She also peed a ton because she was so nervous, however the worker that took care of our puppy was so patient and allowed Jersey to get used to her. Now she goes back frequently and Jersey loves it.
