Now I know going to a retail park isn't the best way to support your local shops, but sometimes you have to go to one. Pets at home is a good store for a whole host of pet supplies. This branch in Chingford even has an onsite vet. They run good deals on multi buys and the staff are helpful and friendly. You can even bring the dog to browse with you. read more

The staff are absolutely appauling- rude, inconsiderate and liars. I saw a fish getting attacked by other fishes in a fishtank and the poor thing was lying on its side, as normal, i told a staff member and she said "oh i'll sort that out in a second" 10 minutes later, she didn't do anything. Therefore, i told another staff member so she said "i'll get someone to help"...no-one came after another 10 minutes. Looks like they've lost a customer. I won't ever go there again. I was shocked. I thought they take good care of animals considering they ARE a pet shop. I guess not. MY RATING: -1 (in order to post this review i have to select a star so i picked 1) read more

I have been to this outlet as well as Enfield and I must say this chain needs training in how they deliver good customer care. It really can be appalling. The Chingford branch is always out of what I need. read more

What is wrong with this PAH Chingford store! ONCE AGAIN, they are out of stock of Science Plan wet food for adult cats. Seems every other time I go there, various items are out of stock. Am told they only order enough stock to fit on the shelves. If an item is popular (apparently Science Plan is), it will sell out quicker thereby leaving more shelf space. So common sense says to order more of it! Its a shame as the staff are polite and helpful, just the incompetent ordering service lets the store down. If there was another local store for pets, I would not go there at all. read more

I was having a rather dull day feeling a bit unfabulous even though I had mixed my Nars "Fire Down…read moreBelow" and with "Flamenco". I needed food for Scaly and I've been looking around the Enfield region recently so I decided to take the bus to Winchmore Hill. Tara's friend who works for Tara 2 days a week immediately struck up a conversation with me about my 1920's cigarette holder (sans cig) and about her daughter being a fashion designer etc. Good Times. I found some food for SBFS and it was a bit expensive (2.75) but quite fruity so I thought "why not?". They had a nice selection of cuttle bones and bird toys including a wooden swing for 6.99. There is dog and cat food here and the smattering of other animal food as well. Tara's friend complained about handling the stinky rawhide bits of pig ears and things. I felt grossed out given my dietary habits.. but hey I'm not a dog. I do own a collar but that's a different matter all together.

One manager at PAH Chingford is appalling.. She shouts at staff in front of customers and she is a real bully. She needs to be reported. Head Office do not seem to care that she is a psychopath as long as she hits targets?? It seems to be the same in other branches of PAH. Presumably managers are encouraged to bully/intimidate staff to hit targets, irrespective of whether the targets are impossible to achieve or whether the animals may suffer in order for them to hit their targets.. Staff are reduced to tears because they cannot get everything done in the time allocated and then they cut their hours down?!? none of it makes sense. Send the managers on courses on how to treat staff/customers/animals and to have some compassion/empathy (which is severely lacking in the Chingford branch). Maybe Head Office need to take note and realise staff (human beings) should not be treated this way, let alone animals. read more
