Thanks yelp y'all didn't disappoint this time. I've never seen a more generous portion of food. You might think it's a pricey pie until you get the box in your hands and realize it's pushing 8lbs. I would say Portilli's out did themselves, but it seems par for the course. Delicious ingredients, crispy tender dough, and massive proportions! The gent working the counter was hustling to help customers get their food quick and accurately by checking each box before sending on its way. I live in the area, I don't want to say any names, but the pizza here is similar to a spot in Glendora and San Gabriel. If I want this kind of pizza, and I don't want to drive to those cities I've named, this is a legit substitute if not better. I hear rumors that this business has something to do with the ones in those two cities I've named. Maybe they branched off and started their own thing or something like that, but who cares, the pizza here is legit and it's good! The Petrelli's Special is the pizza I recommend if you want all the toppings. A large can probably feed 5-6 hungry humans easily. The toppings are fresh, the cheese is melty and the the dough is thick. Order ahead of time, about 30 minutes, good pizza takes a little while longer to make. Staff here seem pleasant. Straight to the point on the phone, they said 30 min, I was there in 30 minutes and it was steaming hot, right out the oven and into a box in 30 minutes, I paid and was out the door. Thank you! Prior to going to ventura for a month, I cam here to pick up some pizza, since, again as I've said before, pizza is a versatile dish that doesnt require a fridge, a microwave, a toaster, and can be eaten for any meal. I've heard great things from this place, and being so close to home, I thought it would be a good time to try this place. I decided to go with their extra large pizza and added several toppings. Total came out to around $45 only. When I went to pick up, the pizza was massive!!!! I would say it's easily like 3 feet long. Must have weighed like 10 lbs!!! Extremely generous amounts of toppings. For 1 person, it took me over 5 days, with some help from others, and that was eating it for multiple meals in a day. I can let you know for certainty that after 5 days of sitting on the counter, itstarts to get funky, so make sure you eat it before the 5th day It was nice that the majority of the pizza didnt consist of dough. At first I thought the dough was undercooked, but the mushiness was actually all the cheese. Upon closer inspection the ratio was maybe 70% cheese to 30% dough, so that was good. It wasen't excessively oily nor salty. Nice balance of flavors. They really allow the toppings to speak for itself. Would I rather order the maui zaui pizza from round table? Or would I rather eat this one? Well that's a hard question. Round table pizza's maui zaui is amazing. But the amount of toppings, the sheer size of it the quality vs the cost, I would say that this pizza is pretty amazing!!! I can't wait to try other combinations of flavors at this place. The crust was so hard and so was the bottom of the pizza... we couldn't even eat it in fear that we would chip a tooth. I had to go order food somewhere else since the pizza was not edible. Today I called the business to let them know and the man who answered the phone said I should have called right way... sorry sir I was too busy spending more money on another dinner to feed my family.
