It's with a very heavy heart to say how disappointed I was! I have taken my pets there for a little…read moreover 2yrs. I had an appointment at 8 am to address an issue with my diabetic cat. In a series of unfortunate happening the same morning my other cat (who had been seen there 2 months ago) he was in a true medial emergency and I already had an appointment with my other cat. I went to the office (and yes it was before they opened) I stopped a tech and asked if there was anyway they could take him in to help with his pain and to possibly help him not hurting anymore. I was told they can't take him because he was 2 months behind on shots and I Informed them I had an appointment in two weeks for all my animals. The tech told me she could take him in bc a DR wasn't there and I just needed to go to the emergency vet. Was also informed depending on the severity he may or may not could be seen at my regular appointment time. At that hour it would have taken at least 45 mins and I had the diabetic cat in the car as well , since he had an appointment at 8. I told her I would figure it out. Took him across town and they took him from my arms in less than 5 seconds and I had never been there nor did they make his vaccines their main concern. My cat would have never made it to the emergency vet. I have been a vet tech in my past and it was always priority to just help emergencies no matter what! I understand the complexity of the hours and such but my baby was of no concern. They had helped my babies prior but I truly feel like the situation could have been handled a little differently. Hearing a pet cry out in such pain is something I cannot just push off. I appreciate the care they gave prior to but I need an office who will go the extra mile for my fur babies.

This would have easily been a 5 star review if the prescription process to refill wasn't so slow. So I called back hours later and only then they proceeded to tell me there's a 24 hour notice. Other than that the Vet was very good and was able to determine my dog had a fungus issue. Something the vet across the street failed to do in multiple visits and lying to me about treatment.

This is before I found out she had cancer. Traumatized my dog and she died. Again, lack of communication. My Maggie was my life, and it is a shame she had to suffer the way she did. Three surgeries within three months that wore her down. Said she had gum disease, come to find out she had cancer. They took her teeth. Maggie had a collapse tracheal. They said it was her age. Could this have happened because of the surgeries she had? I tried several times to get her records; they would never give them to me. What is he hiding? Said he would not put a senior dog through surgeries and everything else he did to her, but yet he did. Maggie was there for about a month, and when I would go see her, I was not allowed to. What is he hiding? I was paying my bill every month and some months paying extra and then heard him say "money means nothing to her" what does this say? I trusted this vet until he made this remark and other remarks to me. Does this doctor have something to hide by not giving me her records? when I went to get Maggie his comment, "we really put this dog through everything". I said, "why did you do that you have traumatized my dog". He never talked to me about cost of procedures, but yet he bragged about the money he has made. please be careful and safe if you plan on taking your animals here. This place cost me Maggie's life.

This is shortly after one of our family members spent thousands of dollars that they charged us for surgery. It's a money pit and if they can't make money they won't take the time to give updates. Unprofessional staff and establishment Edit: they also apparently charged for bloodwork prior to saying they don't know how to help our dog. We get that they are old but have some heart and call when you say you will. Also why was the doctor that talked to us not out of school yet? This is an awful unprofessional business I take my dogs to rocky hill animal hospital and they are great and have gotten me good deals repetitively. They also call when they say they're going to (so do the bare minimum)

My background is in Vet Med - I've been a licensed Vet Tech for 30+ years, working in specialty medicine and academia. So I know the questions to ask, and I did A LOT of research before landing on VVet. I had just moved to the area and knew no one!! They came recommended to me when I started researching and asking other colleagues, "Who do you know in the Knoxville area that is at a great general practice?" This clinic came up a few times, and a few names were dropped. So I read up on the doctors' names given and chose Dr. Dugan. I've had all three of my pets seen there. The first was my soul dog, Ember, who had CKD (chronic kidney disease). She was the reason I needed to find a practice ASAP when I arrived here. She required monthly evaluations and more frequent ones at the end. Dr. Dugan was patient with me, the high detail very stressed Moma. She and her team did almost everything in the room with me. She was gentle with my kids, got down on the ground to ease their anxiety, and gave me time for all my many questions. Her assistants were also gentle and nice. When the worst day of my life came, I wanted to spend the day with my girl and schedule the euthanasia at the end of the day. I was told she unfortunately wouldn't be available at that time, but another doctor could fit me in that evening. I, of course, had to accept that fact because I wanted that time with her that day, but knew it couldn't wait over the weekend. But when I arrived, she and her assistant had made themselves available. Knowing my girl wouldn't have to see an unfamiliar face meant the world to me. They were both kind and compassionate and were willing to accommodate my requests of not coming into the clinic to perform the euthanasia, so we could stay outside in a familiar setting my dog loved (in the car). It was raining, and they still did it!! This is a 5-star service! Since then, my boys (cat and dog) have both needed some care, and each time the service has been great! I had to use Dr. Morrison for one urgent visit, and she, too, was patient and caring with my pup. I'm glad they were recommended to me for general care.

Instead of patient care and connecting with clients, they ignore patients and their owners leaving them waiting for sometimes hours. They are constantly gabbing and playing around or taking long lunches. We have been there 4 times with 2 different dogs and have NEVER been seen at appointment time. They take clients they like over others that have arrived first, and were told they would be seen first. Both dogs were there for regular checkups. It was CLEARLY favoritism. The staff is always loud and raucous. The "Doctors" are void of empathy and compassion. I HATE that I had to give them one star to post this.

Southwind was able to squeeze me in on Monday. The whole time i was there, everyone was caring. Not like fake caring, but just naturally nice. My pup was seen by DVM Stacy Adair, who was extremely knowledgeable. My pup had to get X-rays done just to see if anything had broke. Nothing was broke...thank the Good Lord! But the whole time...DVM Stacey Adair was beyond kind...and again, not the fake kind. Overall, very nice place and naturally nice people. I'm going to start taking my pups here! I forgot to say...I would have paid an arm and a leg in harden valley area. This place has extremely fair prices!! Also, I've lived in Georgia, Kentucky, and Texas...I've been to plenty of vets.

The doctors…read moreare so patient and calm with my two nervous girls, and I've never doubted that they were taken care of to the absolute best of their ability. That's a HUGE plus, as peace of mind is important when choosing a vet. Parking has been really easy in their gravel lots on either side of the building every time I've been there. The bad: While the vets are amazing, the front desk staff is lacking in the customer service department. I try not to judge too harshly in this area normally, but I have consistently been ignored, put on hold for 15+ minutes, and twice forgotten about entirely. I know they're probably busy but it's difficult to call and ask questions, schedule appointments, etc over the phone and seriously cuts back on the convenience factor. The price. I naively assumed all vets offices were at least close in price, so when my past vet in Knoxville charged us $215 for two dogs annual shots, I was shocked when the same shots plus ear drops was $420 here. After asking around, this seems to be at least $100 more than other local vets in this area so we are planning to find a new vet now. Overall: if money is no object and you're patient with the phones, you'll get wonderful care for your pets here!
