Fast forward a week later, I'm in Paris and I stumble upon the COS store in the Marais. There are two COS stores in Paris but the Marais store carries the full collection. What I like about COS is that they carry many basic colors that you can mix and match. We're talking black, white, and gray. They have casual, business and special occasion attire too. Something for everyone and for every occasion. The styles are v-e-r-y cool with unusual mixed fabrics used together, asymmetric cuts to the skirts, unexpected shapes to the neckline or styling on the clothing. I haven't been this excited about discovering a clothing brand EVER. Needless to say, I tried on many dresses, tops and accessories and came away with a cart full of clothes. Whoopeee! Now I can no longer say I have nothing in my closet to wear. COS has solved my dilemma and given my wardrobe some excitement and fun. As a division of the H&M group (from Sweden), I'm excited to have discovered COS and I hope that I'll find their clothes sometime soon in the USA.

Right before my little tot was born I found an adorable patchwork stuffed elephant there that looks like a grandma sewed it together used retro pieces of fabric. I was bummed to find out that it wasn't one of a kind, however, but for 20E, I couldn't turn it down. I've since gone back on multiple occasions for other goodies, like a fabulous hand-crocheted rattle from Peru that is safe for babies to suck on, and these amazing unisex leather booties with Freddy Mercury pizazz. Each time I've gone in the staff has been super sweet and helpful and genuinely baby-friendly. In the front, they had a highly curated selection of popular items and in the back it is old school no frills vintage shopping where you have to sort through a lot of trogs to find your princess. I tried like 14 different things on, and was stuck on whether I should get this beautiful pinstripe suit or not. I was looking at myself in the mirror for far too long before my girlfriend said "don't you have another navy blue pin stripe suit?" I scoffed and responded viciously "Pfftt yeah but this is a deeper navy, that one is closer to an ocean bl--" when I was stopped mid sentence by the rational half of my brain that realized she was completely right. I put it down and didn't end up getting anything, as my Chase Sapphire Preferred card has suffered enough on this trip. The designer is very inpired by Spanish and Moroccan influences and has come up with a large collection of womenswear where any woman with a sense of humour and style will find at least a couple of peices to wear. The pink and gold store is really cool and the staff was very nice too, uber trendy but playing their role very professionnally too. Move over Zadig&Voltaire or Vanessa Bruno, as Manoush's creativity may soon catch the Parisians' imagination and sense of style.

Everytime I called to see whether I could come I was told that the manager was sick, or other reasons why I should call back again. Which I did. Then came the confinement, the postponement of the wedding to early September. And, believe it or not, when I called again after the confinemnt, my dress, which bore my name and was put behind the counter in a room, was GONE. I asked for the clerk to look for it. She never called back. When I called , each time I spokje to a different person which knew nothing about the matter, finally I was told it had been sent back to wherever , and had been sold!!!! I asked for the saellady to see if she copuld find another opne. She never called back. When I called again, i was dismissed with unbevievable rudeness. 2004 my third trip to France, but first experience to H&M in Paris, before hitting the USA…read more I remember catching my eye to the glowing red H&M sign outside the store, after walking a long day around the Champ Elysse, Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower. My curiosity grew and I forced my torn up, nude, 2in Jimmy Choo's to keep trucking to the store... UNBELIEVABLE!!! I've never been in a store that had the modern style with great affordable prices. As I'm walking thru the store in Paris, I'm looking at the Euro pricing and calculating what the US pricing is? I'm really bad at math and my French, but a young man approached and assumed I was American (since he heard me ranting and raving in English) I then politely said, "Parle vous English" lol trust me I had the worst French accent imaginable. He laughed and said, "Yes, I'm American, I just moved to France" I was so relieved. He explained how Paris was the shopping MECCA beside Italy in the world. He then assisted me buying everything my heart desired. H&M now has migrated to the US, thankfully! I love H&M in Paris, courteous, helpful to an American, and down to earth.
