    A crispy Coke Zero

My mom and I stopped by Pete's for the first time today and had such a great experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, our waitress was one of the nicest I've ever had, and the food was delicious. We shared a chicken quesadilla and onion rings and loved both. Even the Coke Zero was on point. Ice cold in the perfect glass with the good ice. So glad we finally tried this place. We'll definitely be back.

I had seen the bad reviews however i did see people defending the place, i'm from alabama and went there because for some reason i trusted that this place was in fact good, the food was great the service was great and my waiter was very respectful and even turned on the game i requested. if i am ever in Lafayette again i will definitely give them a visit again. nice chill place with tons of tv's and a nice bar.

Great locals place, established in 1968. They are known for their burgers... Big Pete is a half pound burger, Lil' Pete is a 1-4 pound burger. Home made chips are fantastic! My chicken quesila was a perfect pre-game food!

A place where there is a little for everyone, and the service was great! We had the following: NATCHITOCHES MEAT PIES - Five Original Natchitoches meat pies stuffed with beef and pork - you gotta love a Nachitoches meat pie!! DEBRIS FRIES - Philly steak, grilled onions & peppers, smothered in gravy & queso - messy, but so delicious! BIG PETE - world-famous half-pound signature burger. Served with Duke's mayo & fresh cut toppings with side of fries - talk about a burger! Add egg and bacon, and you are in heaven! CHICKEN FRIED STEAK - Thin cut breaded sirloin fried to perfection & smothered in country gravy with side of tater tots - well made, delicious, and the country gravy? to die for! Definitely a spot to check out! Check @eatinglafayette on Instagram and Facebook for more Lafayette food things!

Coldest beer in town. Completely remodeled. Food is great.

Burger and onion rings were very plain. Paid $4 for a salad and it was a pitiful excuse of a salad.

Not the same Old Pete's but it is just reopened. Rather expensive for what we got. Not sure we'll come back. So-so!

It took the waitress five minutes just to get to our table and another ten minutes to place the order. When the food did arrive, she initially forgot to give us utensils and by the end of the meal, wasted no time in handing us the check without bothering to ask us if we wanted anything else. At first I thought she was just having an off day, but when her friends came in, she made sure to immediately place an order for them. It also should be noted that the seats are low and uncomfortable so I don't recommend dining here if you are wheelchair-bound. All that said, the food at Fat Pat's was exceptional --from the well-seasoned crispy onion rings to the homemade queso dip. I also really loved the loaded nachos as it was laced with savory hamburger meat and not the grainy taco meat that usually ruins a proper nacho dish. The fried pickles and boneless wings were also well-done and exactly what you would expect from a greasy spoon. I was expecting more of a restaurant and less of a bar but this particular location is essentially a bar that serves decent food. 5/10 decent quality food but I probably wouldn't return!

Responding to Chelsa K.'s 1* review. As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

Of all the places to come to for Mardi Gras, I picked this place…read more When I was in college, this was THE place to be. Great music, good greasy food and a fun atmosphere. 30 years later, I felt like I had entered a nightmare...minus my teeth falling out. First of all, there was a line to get in. It WAS Mardi-Gras, after all. But, there were only 6 or 7 people ahead of me. They were only letting people in as people were leaving and from what I could hear of the door man's conversation, the rest room was to the right. Literally everyone in front of me lined up only to use the bathroom. It's true! I saw the same people coming back out that had already been let in. Holy crap, Batman! I might be in the wrong line! So I finally asked the doorman if I was in the correct line but he was so robotic and only asked me for my id then there was a girl who unhooked a rope at the door opening. I went inside. I was so shocked to find virtually no one in the place. Okay...there were maybe 10 people sitting at the bar and dining tables COMBINED. in addition. I could only see two people behind the bar and I had previously noticed the outside walk up window had been painted shut years before. I got the courage to ask one of the patrons drinking a daiquiri(?) from a pitcher sized pail. He looked back at me and said they had had a visit from the fire department and were told the had to curb their customers from going inside because of the lack of bar tenders and waitstaff. So they stopped cooking food and were only serving mostly melted drinks because of the lack of help. Oh. I completely forgot the lack of AC that night!
