Whilst I have no doubt that the man who owns this place is a good mechanic and prices are average, he is the rudest person I have ever dealt with and I would hate someone to experience what I have.
The first time I went there I was warned against going to his garage by a friend, but was already booked in so took a chance and it was fine.
This time round I called to ask for a quote on getting some work done and was told that he'd need to look at it first of all. Fair enough, so I took it over and explained the problem. I was told it was a fairly simple job, would cost around £30 and would be done 'today.' Called them about 3 hours later to verify cost and find out how it was going.
To say that I got a tirate of abuse, for no reason, would be an understatement. I was told that I was calling every 5 minutes (this was my first call), that all I'd wanted to know first thing was how much it would cost (wouldn't any customer?) and then told that he 'wasn't inclined to do it now' and to 'come and get your keys.' I was also told that he hadn't said he could sort it out that day and neither had his assistant told me that.
When I expressed shock at his manner and said I was a customer and couldn't believe he was being so rude he said, "You're not a customer, you've only been here once." I am surprised that he is still in business if he doesn't understand that having been there (and given him custom!) makes me a 'customer.'
I did tell him that he'd completely wasted my time and that I could have taken my car somewhere else he said 'well why didn't you?'
This sort of behaviour, without provacation, is bizarre and quite upsetting. I would not recommend a woman use his service under any circumstances because I found him aggressive. read more
