Please note this experience is not as a customer but an employee, I'm posting it here so people are aware of the dangers of the Peterlee store. This store opened for a soft launch starting on Saturday 15th February 2025. I worked the Saturday fine and came back in on the Sunday, I was placed with a rather abrasive 17 year old who wasn't the best with customers but I'm guessing their first job so okay, (I was working front counter). I had compiled a list of issues I was going to talk to someone after the rush or possibly on another day about this lady as she had done a few things that where directly against training but again nothing major. I was however consistently having to get between herself and the tills as she was stood in front of both of them blocking access, however refused to use it to take any customer orders. This made me and herself and the dominos brand as a whole look extremely unprofessional and unorganized as she would wait until a customer asked to order before shouting (even if I was directly behind her waiting to take the order) that there was a customer waiting to order. Eventually I would just scoot in and move into the counter position when I saw a customer coming. She then threatened to 'smack' me if I did this again. I informed the regional trainer for the whole of the north east and Northern Ireland (who was on shift) about this threat of violence in the workplace. Now she did not take this seriously at all she said to draw a line under this and get along and continue to work. I tried to explain I thought this was unacceptable whilst the 17 year old was spouting 'you liar and bull----' she interrupted me to say I could not refere to the 17 year old as a child (which is odd because I'm sure you are not an adult until 18 and I didn't mean any offence by the term just stating facts). I then left the scene to get help from the local police as this lady was clearly unable to tell right from wrong and said it was a he said she said situation. I understand that it was but I would warn future customers to avoid entering this store, online orders should be amazing all the drivers are really engaged and looking forward to delivering great service however you may be threatened violence in the store as I was. Then dominos staff will tell you it's all okay and normal and then have the audacity to look surprised when you involve law enforcement. Please do not take this review as a full picture of dominos as this is a specific review of the regional trainer for the North East and NI lady, short, blonde (not the gentleman trainer as he was a gem) and the 17 year old staff member, dark hair, 5'5 member who threatened physical violence against an autistic employee for the crime of trying to do well in a new position and having to be in the same space as her. The head of HR came out after I had reported the case to 101 and apologiesed and said she would be leaving and that they would call me on Monday to discuss however I did not receive a call. In HR's defence she may have tried to call me internally but I did delete the internal system from my phone on the day of the threat which was Sunday 16th February 2025. This has upset me beyond words and I know it will be something I carry into every job from now on, I will always be concerned to pass someone in a tight kitchen or to accidentally brush past a co worker whilst performing duties. I hope this review helps somebody else avoid unnecessary threatening behaviour within the Peterlee Domino's. read more
