From the office staff and the nurses aids, the nurses and doctors are all the most kindest and compassionate medical professionals I've ever encountered! Appointments are easy to schedule and if they can't fit you in they will send you to one of their other offices for care right away! When I had an emergency situation they quickly got me the help that I needed! The offices are clean and the staff are all so friendly! I've transferred all of my medical care to MFP and I highly recommend them! I had all but given up on the medical care system until a family member recommended NFP and I am so grateful that she did!

I have been a patient of Neighborhood Family Practice for almost 40 years. I first started there…read morewhen they were on Storer, and Dr. Heather Ways was my doctor until she retired. She was amazing. I was then blessed with Heidi Guillett, M.D., followed by Dr Lauren. Kreiger. She was the third in the line of wonderful doctors. I changed to a different office after Dr. Lauren left. I was very disappointed with the change to the doctor at 119th and Madison, who I found to be arrogant and condescending. I shared confidential information with her, and then I found it posted in my chart for all to see without any warning. I will never be able to trust this doctor again. I am now at the 130th and Lorain Ave. office. I will keep you abreast of my experiences there.

They finally called. Just to say they won't help me…read more I went in for an evaluation a month ago. I sat with a counselor, opened up about everything--my grief, my depression, the loss of my brother. I was vulnerable, honest, and hopeful. She told me a doctor would call in two weeks to schedule an appointment. That felt like a long time, but I waited. Three weeks passed. No call. I left a voicemail. Still nothing. So I posted a review here, asking why no one followed up. And today--after a full month--I got a call. Not to help. Not to apologize. Just to say they "talked about it" and decided they wouldn't take my case. I asked why. The woman on the phone said they had no reason. Just... no. No explanation. No referral. No compassion. I came to them in pain. I asked for help. They made me wait, ignored me, and then slammed the door in my face. How do you treat a person like that? Maybe they read my review and, instead of thinking, "Let's actually help," they decided to punish me for speaking up. If I could set my one-star rating on fire, I would. You pieces of actual garbage. This place was a complete waste of time. I needed help. I was told I'd be scheduled with a doctor in two weeks--which was already strange. But it didn't matter, because they never called. Not once. No follow-up. No care. No humanity. Thanks for nothing

I sought Dr. Lakin's help after reading his very informative blog posts. Our 4 year old daughter…read morehad a months-long potty training issue that we tried and failed to successfully resolve. She was very fearful and exceptionally good at avoiding the part that terrified her - namely defecating in the toilet. We'd tried educating her, rewarding/bribing per, praising her, talking about it and not talking about it. NOTHING had worked at all. Her pediatrician didn't have any answers either. I read everything I could find online but none of the strategies worked. Then I met with the wonderful Dr. Lakin. He asked a lot of questions about our history with potty training but also questions about our daughter in general to better understand her personality and behaviors. He suggested a new consequence and a new reinforcement for us and I kid you not - it worked within 24 hours. Within days, it was like she'd never been afraid and the prior 9 months had never happened. We couldn't be more grateful for Dr. Lakin's professional insights. After the toilet issue was resolved, we started looking at our parenting struggles differently in light of his advice and CBT blog posts (e.g. daughter getting out of bed too early in the AM, and not eating vegetables). Looking at things from a behaviorist perspective has shifted our parenting strategies and we've been much more successful mitigating the examples above. I will definitely call Dr. Lakin again the next time we get stuck! We give him our very highest recommendation!

If you're in need for a life-changing therapist Dr. Lakin is what you need. I was a patient of Dr…read more Lakin when he worked in the East Bay in California. I was 14 when my mom got recommended Dr. Lakin to help me with my server depression. When I first went to him, I was so hopeless and did not believe that I could be helped. After seeing him for about 2 and half years and can fully say that Dr. Lakin saved my life. I saw him when he worked in DBT and CBT therapy. I was a little skeptical about his exposure therapy because it was outside my comfort zone, but Dr. Lakin helped me through the process. He is so open and honest with you, and that is something I admired so much about him.It was not your traditional therapy. We would go on walks and do the most random activities. I did not understand this, but it was all part of the process and it was so helpful. When I first started seeing him, I did not want to go, but after a couple months of sessions, his office became my safe place for 2 years. He ended moving away from my hometown so unfortunately, I could not see him anymore, and I have not seen anyone since him, but because of Dr. Lakin, I can go through life, with the skills I need for my depression and anxiety. I am now 18 and at a very good college, and when I first came to Dr. Lakin I never went to school, because of how miserable I was. Although I have not seen Dr. Lakin in almost 2 years, I would not of graduated from high school or gotten into college without him. I could not recommend him higher, if you need help and are feeling hopeless, Dr. Lakin is the person to help you.
