Dr Tarbox has been my neurologist since I had a stroke in 2021. He's a great neurologist, his PA, Phillip is also great. They are both very attentive, professional to my issues. When I first started seeing Dr. Tarbox I had issues with his front desk staff including the front desk manager being rude and unprofessional, however, this past 2 years since they got rid of the female front desk and brought in male replacement it's been great. The males were more polite, professional and mannerism toward patients were night and day. Sorry to say I won't be seeing them this year due to I was told by his phone receptionist I wasn't in their network even though that wasn't true and wasn't planning my new year with an argument with a receptionist. I would recommend Dr Tarbox and his PA Phillip to anyone looking for a great Neurologist. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Tarbox a few years ago and his diagnosis of moderate neuropathy and the treatment for it has worked. As soon as I tell a GP why I am taking the meds I'm on and why, they agree to continue with it. Dr. Tarbox was thorough with his tests and stayed with me for several visits until he let me go to his NP. I really liked him. My question is, would it be possible to continue seeing him as I am having additional neuropathic problems and would like to going to Dr. Tarbox? Hello, It appears, documentations and information provided during intake consultation was received. However; information is Incorrect and False. After reviewing ChristUs, the reviews are horrible. No accountability or feedback. It appears everyone seems dissatisfied with the company and leadership. This account was deleted several times, I can't access the portal. Another example of ChristUs disregarding valuable data and information to provide their customers feedback. They have the audacity to send a letter stating, ALL patients require 5 to 6 months of medical evaluation before submitting any documentation for services regarding disability paperwork. They recently merged with a larger organization, during that time I was unable to reach anybody for help with questions about my infusion treatments. Then they left a VM telling me they won't take mt insurance anymore. Still couldn't contact anyone. Dr Tarbox is an excellent neurologist. His office staff is very unprofessional. I have been trying to make an appointment with Dr. Tarbox and I was asked to call at 2PM IF there was a cancellation. I got an appointment for 3/4/25 and I had to cancel because I could not get a medical ride which is free. I had to give a 48 hour notice. I called to cancel. Answering service said they would relay messages and they didn't relay message. Now this is considered a no show and I am being asked to pay $100. I have never missed an appointment of any kind in my 81 years. If I had to cancel I have always called in advance. The person helping me just cut me off. I called back and they would not answer my phone. read more

I called my insurance in advance of my appointment and did a three way call with the Doctor's office to verify my insurance coverage. Showed up for my appt and was charged my 35.00 copay. Went back for an EEG and paid another 35.00 copay. Then got a a bill for 407.00 for the first visit and 1440.00 for the EEG. Anthem insurance said they would process the claim again since I was told I was covered. Called to cancel my next appt now that I know Dr. Tarbox is truly not in my ins. network and no answer. I had an appt today with the NP at 10 am this morning. I had not heard from them in a phone call or email. I decided to call to make sure I was on the books. When I called they said you don't have an appt. I said I sure do. She said well you know we are under Christus and I said I found that out last night when I tried to get into the portal. She said it shows you have an appt in the old portal but not in the new portal. I then said and so can I be seen. She said no but let me look and see what we had. She said how about Dec 22 11:30 and I said I have an appt with my PCP at 10:40 . Then she said well we can see you April 27. I have already waited 3 months to get in to see him now I have to wait 4 months to get my results. So then I get a email saying when my appt is in April and said I canceled my appt for Dec 22 which I didn't have an appt that day I had an appt on Dec 19th that they didn't have me down for. I'm disappointed by the lack of professionalism, communication, and the lack of accountability this office has. Their phone system is frustrating too because you can never get through to actually speak to a human and just get lost in the holding music only to have the line disconnect. Then you have to keep calling until you reach their staff. I had received a call on Tuesday regarding a nerve test to be completed today Friday May 30th at 8am. I was happy to have an appointment so soon and looked forward to getting it over with. I show up for my appointment this morning only to be told it was scheduled for next Friday June 6th. I was adamant that the lady who called me to schedule my appointment stated it was today May 30th. The front desk agent told me the technician was not in today so they couldn't squeeze me in. I don't drive and have to schedule my transportation through Uber/Lyft so I had to pay $27.96 just to get to my appointment. So not only did I not get my nerve test done, I'm out $27.96. read more

I'm rating the administration 1 star for Dr. Tarbox's administration personnel, and 5 Stars for Dr Tabox. First off, Dr. Tarbox is an excellent Neurologist that has provided me 100% outstanding professional care. Unfortunetly, I can't say the same for his administration personnel. I've been a patient with Dr. Tarbox for over several years and have slowly started to recieve a lack luster service from his administration personnel. The most recent, I received a call from Dr. Tarbox's office and the female individual told me that my appointment for December the 5th was going to be cancelled, with no explaination. When she didn't say anything else, I asked her for the new date...she rudely replied, we'll you back. Well over 3 weeks later, no call. Now that's what I'm taking about...piss poor customer/patient service. I don't know what or who these individuals think are, but I do know one thing, unfortunetly for Dr. Tarbox, I'm going to have to stop sending money his way to pay those idiots that work for him that do not know where the money comes from that pays their weekly checks, especially when they do not respect their patients. This Office has been reported to The Texas State Board of Medicine, and to The Medicare Quality Improvement Organization, along with Carabin and Shaw for Patient Abandonement and unethical practices. Absolutely horrific experience! This place will not even let you schedule an appointment. You have to leave a message for some phantom employee named "Frank", he does not exist because he can never complete and outgoing call to help you schedule an appointment. I have been trying to schedule an appointment since my referral was sent in October of 2024. I have called repeatedly for months. I finally got a hold of the office Manager named Andrea today, she declined my referral because I filed a complaint with the Texas Medical Board because I am being abandoned as a patient. I had read many bad reviews about the office staff, so I prepared myself. I was on hold for 15 minutes to make my appt. The phone didn't sound right and she told me they were having phone problems, so I let that slide. She was friendly while making the appt. When I got to the office, everyone was very nice. I was very pleased with my office visits and with the staff. I have also sent messages to the doctors portal and they are always very responsive, timely, and efficient. I have had some issues with my insurance company covering my prescription and the Mr Guilley has been outstanding in trying to find a resolution. Office staff will blow you off. Any requests for lab referrals, insurance information, etc will be ignored unless you call them everyday to make sure they do it. I actually like the MEDICAL staff. They were all great. But the office staff is just non responsive and chaotic. read more

I've had a bad experience since the beginning. Months ago when I had first received my referral from my primary care physician to come here, the office never called me. When I reached out to them, it would go to voicemail and no one ever returned my call to schedule an appointment. Months go by and I have to resend the referral. They never called and I had to call their office numerous times. Finally someone answers and a lady quickly said "okay we have your referral and info just come in on your appointment day/time okay bye!" And as she was about to hang up, I stopped her to make sure she had my right info and she didn't. I luckily reconfirmed everything. As it got closer to my appointment, I never I got an email or call so I called the office a few days before my appointment and a girl had confirmed my appointment with me over the phone and said I was good to go. Day of my appointment comes and I show up. The office is confused because they had cancelled my appointment for not confirming my appointment the day before and turns out they had the wrong phone number on file. Luckily they were able to fit me in because they had cancelled a bunch of other appointments that day too. The girl who took my nerve test was amazing and very nice. Dr Tarbox was nice too and explained everything very well. I hope that the office will be more organized one day and provide better customer service. read more

I haven't Yelp'd in a while but I thought I would drop one today. I have been a patient of Dr Tarbox's office for about 8 months now. The only problem I had was getting my initial visit. It took about 6 months. (But I was still under the care of my physician so it wasn't that big a deal). I visit due to chronic headaches and acute cluster headaches. It took several years to figure out what was wrong before I was referred to Tarbox. Since then, I have had more headache free days than I can remember. I've gotten part of my life back. The good: The staff... front to back. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. They value every patient as an individual with specific needs. I went in one day a complete jerk because I was having a pretty bad headache day, but the staff was patient, compassionate, and understanding. The appointment system. I am always seen within 10 minutes of my appointment time. Medication. All my meds are handled in a manner that makes me feel like I'm in control of what I can, should, and don't want to take. We have an actual treatment plan and not just a symptom killer. The bad: Initial wait time after referral. Ummm. That's about it. I don't understand why so many reviews tout the staff as unkind and impatient. The most I've ever gotten from a staff member was indifference, but part of that was my fault. I can come on a little strong to strangers and it puts them out sometimes. No one has ever raised their voice or been rude to me. read more

This place suck especially the front office people I came to my appointment 5/5/2023 my appointment was for 7:45 I was in traffic and also I was running behind because I was lost I try explaining to one of the front staff and getting the direction but she just blew me off and I arrive at 8:15 but I didn't know where to go since they elevator's was broke soon as I got to my destination she told me they had to re-schedule my appointment I blew up I wasn't in my car I caught a 23.00 lyft up there then had to catch a 20.00 dollar ulber back home. To say the staff is useless would be an insult to useless people. They NEVER, EVER answer the phone. I have to 100% of the time drive all the way over there to ask someone a question, or to schedule, or confirm an appointment. They gave me a call, and left two voicemails back to back 1 asking me to call them to confirm my appointment (which is pointless because they never answer the phone), and the other telling me that I need to make an appointment in order to confirm the appointment, they just asked me to confirm. Office staff is terrible. Trust the bad reviews. They cancelled an appointment I've waited 4 months to attend because I didn't call back to confirm. I teach all day and the times I could call back, they didn't answer. Then when she finally answered she told me they cancelled my appointment and I can come in June (4 months later). Dr Tarbox and PA Thomas have been caring for me routinely for over 3 years. They have given me consistent superior care. If you ask PA Thomas a question, she'll always get back with you in a timely manner. Dr Tarbox is very thorough in ruling out illnesses and accommodating if you ask for tests that may help rule out illnesses. The staff is wonderful and even when i had a problem with a staff member's work Dr Tarbox handled it swiftly and asked for feedback. They have a challenging demand but i never feel like a number. Today I had an appointment at Dr Tarbox office and I was a little apprehensive. The reason for my aprehensión, is that I read the reviews on Dr Tarbox and his office staff. I really was expecting the worse on my first visit and I want to call my insurance company and change the Physician. However, I decided to give it a try, and I was up for a big surprise, the staff was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. When you visit a Neurologist office for the first time, that first visit takes time. There are paperwork to be filled, test to be performed and a physical assessment to be done by the Physician. I was really surprise that everything was done in two hours because it can take more than that time in other offices. Over all my rating of the whole experience is 5/5 all the way through. The office staff is incompetent. The visit I had with the PA was rushed. I think she was running behind and trying to catch up or she just does not care. Dr Tarbox listed and the assessment was thorough. Unfortunately the office staff's lack of knowledge and inability to answer simple questions resulted in me having to fire Dr Tarbox. I was told "I'll ask the doctor and call you back." I waited a week without a call so i called. Still no answer and i was told "well...the doctor is very busy." This went on for 4 weeks! Giving this office even a 1 star is not what I even want to give. The office staff is horrible. They do not reply to emails nor do they send prescription refills in a timely manner. You have to request a script refill atleast 3-4 weeks in advance because they are so slow. They are rude from the get go and make you feel like they are only there for the paycheck and not to give good customer service or patient care.
