Terrible, rude customer service. They canceled my picked order, and when I called to ask if I can still pick it up, they said "no you'll have to place a new order" (fine) but when I told them I couldn't because the app said they didn't have the item anymore, they said "we do have it but it'll take 3 days for the online system to update since we just cancelled your order". So their suggestion was to "order it again in 3 days" or buy it in store. I asked whether if they'd honor the 10% off a pickup order that I had on the original order (which they canceled) if I bought in store. It's far more affordable than a regular vet (and easier to schedule) for vaccinations, de-worming and heartworm tests. I'm a regular customer and was coming in to purchase pet food and cat litter. Upon asking to use the restroom I was told that the restroom was closed by one employee and then that there was no restroom by another employee and that I needed to go across the giant Parking Lot in the rain to target. I did that. Then upon my return to meet up with my partner and complete my purchase, the security guard was standing in the doorway and said " back again huh, something i can help you find?" It's obvious I was being treated like a shop lifter while being a paying customer that went and spent $4 at a target to use the restroom. What a crappy experience. Stay way from this place. It's a training facility for student groomers. They overbook and will pawn off your dog to an inexperienced person who will not only give them a bad cut but can hurt them. They gave my dog bloody razor burns and all they could say was to take her to the vet and depending on what the vet said, they may or may not do something about it. Just wrong. I asked an employee and they clearly saw I had a young child and the response was "employees only". For a store this size and a national chain... with two locked previously public restrooms, no excuse. I wish I could give 0 stars! I came in for some nail clippers for my cat and after finding what I needed I decided to look at the beta fish. There were at least two dead betas and a couple others floating on their sides looking like they are barely hanging on. I brought one of the dead fish up to the register with me when I checked out and asked if I could talk to the store leader about their care. The store leader Dave explained to me that it is the pet care persons job to take care of the fish and change their waters weekly etc, I asked if the waters were cleaned only weekly and the store leader at this point got very frustrated and said he does no know and that that is the pet care persons job. Was directed to go to this Vetco from the Vancouver store because they had a clinic there that could see my dog. Booked appointment, check in and was told that they could not see my dog after checking in without the Doctor even taking a look at my dog. They did not charge me but made the decision of not seeing my dog based on him being a Siberian Husky and he had red inflamed skin due to fleas. I was in there to get his booster shots and a flea treatment along with a checkup. the lady that checked us in came back and informed us that the doctor said he needed to go to a hospital due to his skin irritation. The doctor did not even look at my dog. I called a mobile Vet with a Doctorates in veterinarian medicine, and they scheduled an appointment within a week. This is the second time that Petco has refused to service my Husky, the first time was for nail clipping only with all of his immunizations being up to date. They pick and choose the breeds that they will service even after you check in and they say that they will take the time to look at your pet. Take you business elsewhere, not worth your time or your pets stress. Waste of time and energy, until they get better service I would not recommend them. read more

I took my Skruffy Dog to his favorite Spa to get his monthly haircut and bath. Skruffy Jumps when he hears that he is going to Petco to get Handsome and drags me to the door until it is time to separate. The girls spend some quality time with him and he is off to get his care. This is specifically for the groomers. We hit some unpredicted early holiday traffic and were going to be 5 min late. Being courteous we called and the woman said "no we can't groom her then. I'm the only groomer and we usually don't take appointments this late anyway." But they made me that appointment? If you don't take them, don't take them. If you have a strict check in time please state it. I cannot blame them for traffic but they way they responded was unprofessional. You would think there would just be a little bit of grace knowing they are located near the bridge which makes things harder especially during the holiday week. read more

The groomers at Petco are fantastic!!! Cynthia from Janzten beach Petco, went beyond the wonderful care that she has all ways given to my Little Libbie. Cynthia noticed that Libbie had a drainage that was coming from her right eye. Cynthia being the wonderful person that she is thought that maybe Libbie had gotten some soap in her eye , Cynthia washed Libbie's eye out 3 times and the drainage kept returning. When I came to pick up my little girl Cynthia explained the circumstance about Libbie's right eye . I called the vet immediately and was able to get an appointment within the hour. The doctor explained that Libbie had an ulcer on the top layer of her eye, and with such fast acknowledgement of the issue,the prognoses look great. I'm a long-time customer and have called Petco Corporate 3x's this week.Your policy is to call customers back withing 24-48 hours. Aaron, no-last-name-provided, the GM at Jantzen Beach Store or district manager Doug Moehlmann. Don't ever take your pet to the Petco groomers. I'm filing a concern with the State of Oregon Veterinary Medical Examining Board and DOJ. You can't position staff as veterinarians and allow them to make a diagnosis. That is very dangerous to operate out of your scope of practice. You can't cover up poor documentation. I trusted you, paying you hundreds for grooming. Also, the manager is an overbearing dick to his employees and does nothing to ensure good customer service. They are big box stores that are convenient for the lazy customer not willing to take the two minutes to get on Google and find one of the TONS of great local pet stores in the area. These are corporate stores that do not give two shits about you, and sell crap from China and everywhere else except this country. There are so many local stores that carry locally sourced items like cat furniture, pet treats, etc, etc, and they will actually greet you and treat you like they appreciate you taking the time to come into their stores. Awesome grooming salon. We have taken 3 dogs we have had here and always ask for Wendy. She does a phenomenal job and our dogs have always gotten ravs. The other groomers there are also great. Both my husband and I feel they are all kind and gentle to our animals, and do excellent work. There are some bad grooming shops in Portland and Vancouver (where we will never return) but this one gets 5 stars from us! read more

The Vetco here is awful. They are very rude and almost always seem to be having technical difficulties, making the wait time incredibly long. Not only that, but they also completely messed up my puppies shot records. Each visit is extremely confusing and complicated because of this, and we are unable to board her anywhere now. We have gone to vetco at other locations and have had similar problems, but the staff has at least been courteous and helpful despite the screwed up shot records and long wait time. read more
