After trusting my dogs with her for 3 months there were many mistakes made - such as walking the wrong dog, never picking up my dog but still charging me and zero communication. I was lucky I have cameras and could double check her. The final straw was her losing my dog completely on a hike, my 1.5 year bernedoodle was lost for over an hour before she contacted me to let me know "she was leaving him at the trail to return the other dogs but Arlo is lost and heading east" --- she sent this to me in a text, no phone call no plan of action. When I called her to figure out a game plan she was rude and horrible, telling me this was my fault for not having a tag on him. 10 minutes later I received a call because someone had found my dog (in the middle of the city somehow) and called, because he did have a collar with a tag!! --- I urge you to not use this business for your dogs safety.

She hires too many hikers and I think the qualifying of these hikers is questionable. One of the…read morehikers lost my puppy for a good twenty minutes on a hike. A Good Samaritan found my dog alone on the trail and called me. Would not recommend. Update: owner never apologized. Simply said that mistakes happen and that I was too emotional. Very unprofessional. She also had said she personally hikes new dogs to make sure the dogs have good recall before she assigns them to the hikers she hires. That's a lie. She only hiked my puppy once. And she is very disorganized. One of the hikers showed up and only picked up one of my dogs and not the other one. When asked he says oh he didn't see the other one on the schedule, even though I had signed my dogs up to hike together twice a week. Terrible company.

I started noticing he would growl when I touched him, which was very out of character. At first, I didn't think much of it, but as it worsened, I examined him more closely and was shocked to discover scabbed areas under both of his front legs, resembling severe rugburn. After another hike, I checked him immediately upon return and found his front legs raw and bleeding in multiple spots, with his fur matted in tight knots. I took him to urgent care, and the veterinarian confirmed the wounds were fresh trauma. My dog is 8 years old and very active, but because he's never been off leash before, I had specifically requested that he be kept leashed on hikes. The other dogs were off-leash, and I worry that while trying to keep up with the group, the handler, Caitlin, may have dragged him when he couldn't keep pace. I reached out to Mary for an explanation but received no clear response or indication of concern for my dog's condition. I asked Mary if she would cover the vet bill. Instead, she said she wanted to speak directly with my vet. When I brought that request to my vet, they informed me that she did not have a right to access my pet's medical information due to HIPAA laws. Despite everything, I was kind enough to let the situation go--but I refused to pay the bill for the hike where my dog was injured. Now Mary is charging my account anyway. A good business owner would have shown concern and at the very least offered an apology. Instead, she has shown no empathy and no accountability. This experience was incredibly distressing. I cannot recommend Merrypets based on what happened and how poorly it was handled. My dog has had no more injuries since he stopped going out with Merry Pets. He's happy again and no longer growls at me.
