The couple who run this…read moreestablishment are really nice to do business with, they always ask after my dog and are open for a friendly chat about all things animal (or anything really that comes up!) I buy my dog his special food from this shop as very few places stock it and they order it in specially for me. The lady who works here is not just an assistant but a dog owner herself. She keeps her tiny little dog and her big massive dog together behind the counter and many a day I've lingered on after purchasing just to give them a wee stroke. I've purchased a lot of stuff from this shop including food, toys and Toby's grand apartment (his kennel) Toby is a great big beast and so is his home, the man who works here gladly nearly put his back out helping me carry the swanky new dog house into my van - and all this was going on while the parrot they keep by the door was screeching and whistling at us! I definitely recommend this shop - much more personal and friendly than those big faceless pet stores.

I've been buying our dogs food here for the past year or so and have to say, have always had a warm welcome & any queries I've had have been answered by people who take a genuine interest and actually have pets themselves!!! I have previously fallen victim to the big faceless corporations (much to my hubbies horror) but this little petshop has everything you need to continue returning and its great building up a rapport with the owners... nothing is too much trouble, large items are even taken out to my car for me. What service & prices are very reasonable too!!!! :)
Feed Me Reptile House

The fish/aquarium tanks always look spotlessly clean and well kept. The rats have a wonderful size enclosure with rope to climb etc, so much better than a lot of pet shops with their tiny wee rat tanks. Johnathon the man that owns the shop is always very polite to talk to and will go out of his way to be helpful and will order stuff in for you if needed. Whilst its a business to make money like any other pet shop, there is a real difference in this shop comparred to other pet shops in Johnathons genuine caring attitude towards the animals he sells. I definately wouldnt hesitate to recommend the reptile house to anyone wanting a reptile/rabbit/rat/fish etc or their associated food, bowls etc.

While they lack the romance and coolness of small pet shops, the larger shops have basically everything that you could ever need. The website is great as well and they offer free delivery on orders over £49, which is a really good service. This site is on the same retail space as Bloomfield Shopping Centre so there is lots of parking which is all free and there are lots of other shops about with excellent access to main roads and ATMs.

Upstairs there are a few snakes, tropical spiders and lizards. Birds such as perroquets and budgerigars were also on view, alongside furry rodents of the guinea pig, rabbit and chipmunk fraternity. Greater curiosity value came from the chinchillas which are interesting creatures to see though they tend to be inactive and sleepy during the day. If disturbed they make a strange purring chirruping sound and are capable of jumping up a great height so, if you're interested, you'd need a very big cage were you to consider doing business with the proprietor who was helpful and willing to sell, for instance, the chipmunks for £50 instead of £70.

Jolleys isn't just a pet accessory shop, it's a shop that sells pets - think small though, hamsters, fish and birds were on show yesterday. Price wise I think Jolleys is a little bit cheaper than chain stores like Pets at Home. Yesterday I was able to pick up a huge bag of puppy food for £3.99, having paid a few quid more a few weeks back in Pets at Home. As other reviewers have said it's a great lay out - the warehouse set up makes it easy to navigate and the isles are well labelled. There are bigger items on the second floor! All in all a great shop - shopping local at it's best!
